Caroleen, North Carolina

Henrietta-Caroleen High School, also known as Tri-High, Tri-Community Elementary, and Chase Middle School, is a historic high school building located near Mooresboro, Rutherford County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Leslie Boney (1880-1964) and built in 1925. It is a two-story on basement, "T"-plan, Classical Revival style red brick building. The front facade features a monumental, two-story, portico with a denticulated pediment supported by fluted Corinthian order columns. A brick gymnasium addition was built in 1935 and a hip-roofed, concrete block, addition to it was added in 1952. Also on the property are the contributing cafeteria building (1955, 1967), and a World War II Commemorative Marker (c. 1950). The building houses Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, a public charter school.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Via the Broad and Congaree rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Santee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.The Second Broad River rises in south-central McDowell County about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Marion, and flows generally southeastwardly through Rutherford County, passing to the east of the town of Forest City. It briefly enters Cleveland County before flowing into the Broad River from the north, about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Forest City.

Landscape architect Earle Sumner Draper planned the curvilinear village plan. Notable buildings include the Alexander Manufacturing Company mill complex, former Alexander School, and Alexander Baptist Church. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

It built in 1939, and is a two-story, five-bay, central passage plan, Georgian Revival style white brick dwelling. It has a side-gable roof covered with interlocking red clay tiles. The front facade features a central projecting bay, one-story portico supported by three Ionic order columns, and second floor Palladian window.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. It is located in the East Main Street Historic District.
