Pleasant Mountain

Pleasant Mountain is a ski resort located in Bridgton, Maine, in Cumberland County.Located on the northern end of Pleasant Mountain, the resort features two base areas and 245 skiable acres. Pleasant Mountain first opened on January 23, 1938 and is the oldest major ski area in Maine. From 1988 until 2022, the area was known as Shawnee Peak.

Moose Pond is located in the towns of Bridgton, Denmark and Sweden, in the state of Maine. Camp Winona, a camp for boys, Camp Wyonegonic, a camp for girls, and Pleasant Mountain Ski Area, a ski resort, are located on the pond.

Denmark is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,197 at the 2020 census. A number of ponds and lakes are located within the town.

The Shepards River is a 13.6-mile-long (21.9 km) river in western Maine and eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is part of the Saco River drainage basin. The Shepards River rises in the town of Conway, New Hampshire, south of Dundee Hill and north of Crown Hill, among foothills of the White Mountains. The river flows southeast across a corner of Eaton, New Hampshire, then turns northeast into Brownfield, Maine, passing the villages of West Brownfield, Brownfield, and East Brownfield before reaching the Saco River east of Frost Mountain. Several species of game fish have been caught in the Shepards River, including brook trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and atlantic salmon.

The Tenmile River is an 8.6-mile-long (13.8 km) river in the towns of Hiram and Brownfield in western Maine in the United States. It is a tributary of the Saco River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Little Saco River is a 4.5-mile-long (7.2 km) tributary of the Saco River in western Maine in the United States. It begins at the junction of Haley Brook and Paine Brook in the northern part of the town of Brownfield and flows northeast, entering the town of Fryeburg just before its mouth at the Saco.

Sweden is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 406 at the 2020 census. Set among hills, forests and ponds, Sweden includes the village of East Sweden.

The Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity is located in Bridgton, Maine. It is dedicated to the life and works of Rufus Porter (1792–1884). The museum is located on Main Street in two historic buildings and is open seasonally or by appointment.

Walker Memorial Hall is a historic community meeting hall on Highland Road in Bridgton, Maine. Built in 1892 to a design by Frederick A. Tompson, it is a well-preserved local example of eclectic Queen Anne architecture, and continues to be a significant community meeting center, hosting social events and meetings of local organizations. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The William Fenderson Perry House is an historic house at 32 Main Street in Bridgton, Maine, United States. Built in 1870 and extensively remodeled in 1874, it is a fine example of transitional Italianate-Second Empire architecture, and was owned for many years by Bridgton's most prominent businessman, mill owner William F. Perry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Lovewell Pond is a sizable body of water located in southeastern Fryeburg, Maine. It has a moderately developed shoreline with approximately 75-80 buildings, not including approximately 35 others with access rights to the pond's shoreline.Lovewell Pond is the second largest pond in Oxford County. It is about 1,120 acres (450 ha), slightly smaller than Kezar Pond, which is about 1,299 acres (526 ha). Lovewell Pond does, however, fluctuate largely in size due to its annual flooding phenomenon. It is the drainage basin for many small streams including Fight Brook and Mill/Wards Brook, but mainly the Saco River, which acts as both an inlet and outlet for the pond. When the Saco River floods, the water, which normally flows out, reverses direction and flows into the pond, causing it to rise. Lovewell Pond has an actual drainage area of about 3,101 acres (1,255 ha). This flooding is an unusual characteristic for a pond. Lovewell Pond has a maximum depth of 45 feet (14 m) during dry season, but can increase by as much as 10 feet (3.0 m), depending on how high the water rises during rainy periods. The water is normally lowest in the summer (August) and highest in the spring (April).

The Benjamin Cleaves House is a historic house on South High Street in Bridgton, Maine, United States. Built in 1828, it is a well-preserved late example of Federal period architecture, and is most notable for the murals drawn on its walls, probably by the itinerant artist Rufus Porter. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
