Pentire Head (Cornish: Penn Tir, meaning "headland") is a headland and peninsula on the Atlantic coast in North Cornwall, England, and is about one mile square. The headland projects north-west with Pentire Point at its north-west corner and The Rumps promontory at its north-east corner.

New Polzeath (Cornish: Polsegh Nowyth, meaning new Polzeath) is a coastal settlement immediately north-east of Polzeath in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) north-northwest of Wadebridge at grid reference SW 935 794.The main street in New Polzeath is Atlantic Terrace which faces across the bay. The terrace was built in 1898. The area of New Polzeath inland of the terrace was developed later. An estate of holiday homes was built in the last few years. The National Trust owns land to the west and north of New Polzeath and this curtails further development. New Polzeath has access to Polzeath beach at low water; there is also access to Pentireglaze beach, a smaller beach. The road to New Polzeath connects with the road into Polzeath over a mile east of the villages so although the places are contiguous, driving between them means a 2-mile (3 km) trip. Alternatively a coast path of approximately 400 yd (370 m) links the two places. Just beyond the Point, facing Rumps Point, is a plaque commemorating the place where Laurence Binyon, in 1914, composed his famous poem For the Fallen incorporating the Ode of Remembrance. The former Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Bernard Griffin, died suddenly in office of a heart attack while holidaying here in August 1956. His death occurred in the Diocese of Plymouth, under which Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly fall.

Polzeath (;Standard Written Form: Polsegh, meaning dry creek) is a small seaside resort village in the civil parish of St Minver in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) north west of Wadebridge on the Atlantic coast.Polzeath has a sandy beach and is popular with holiday-makers and surfers. The beach is 1,500 feet (460 m) wide and extends 1,200 feet (370 m) from the seafront at low water; however, most of the sand is submerged at high water. At exceptionally high spring tides the sea floods the car park at the top of the beach. Polzeath beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer and is described on the RNLI website as "a wide, flat beach with some shelter from winds, it sees good quality surf and is quite often extremely crowded".Dolphins may sometimes be spotted in the bay and the coastline north of Polzeath is a good area for seeing many types of birds, particularly on migration but also including occasional puffins nesting on the offshore islands.The main street runs along the seafront and has a parade of shops catering for holidaymakers and residents. There are pubs, cafés, restaurants, a caravan site and several camping sites in the immediate area. The road rises up steep hills at both ends of the seafront, towards the village of Trebetherick to the southwest and New Polzeath to the northeast. The South West Coast Path runs from Daymer Bay in the South through Polzeath and up to Pentire Head in the North.

The River Camel (Cornish: Dowr Kammel, meaning crooked river) is a river in Cornwall, England. It rises on the edge of Bodmin Moor and with its tributaries its catchment area covers much of North Cornwall. The river flows into the eastern Celtic Sea between Stepper Point and Pentire Point having covered about 30 miles, making it the second longest river wholly in Cornwall. The river is tidal upstream to Egloshayle and is popular for sailing, birdwatching and fishing. The name Camel comes from the Cornish language for 'the crooked one', a reference to its winding course. Historically the river was divided into three named stretches. Heyl (Cornish: Heyl, meaning estuary) was the name for the estuary up to Egloshayle, the River Allen (Cornish: Dowr Alen, meaning shining river) was the stretch between Egloshayle and Trecarne, whilst the Camel was reserved for the stretch of river between its source and Trecarne.

Trebetherick (Cornish: Trebedrek) is a village on the north coast of Cornwall. It is situated on the east side of the River Camel estuary approximately six miles (10 km) north of Wadebridge and half a mile (800 metres) south of Polzeath.Trebetherick straddles the Polzeath to Wadebridge road and extends west to Daymer Bay and northwest to Trebetherick Point, a rocky headland in the estuary, where the remains of shipwrecks can be seen on the foreshore. The National Trust owns land adjacent to Trebetherick Point.

Daymer Bay is a bay and a beach on the east side of the River Camel estuary in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately six miles (10 km) north of Wadebridge.Daymer Bay lies west of Trebetherick village at grid reference SW 928 775. The bay is bounded to the north by Trebetherick Point and to the south by Brea Hill. Daymer Bay beach is backed by dunes and behind them is St Enodoc's Church where the poet John Betjeman is buried. The beach is very popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing.Daymer Bay lies between Trebetherick Point SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and Rock Dunes SSSI. Much of Daymer Bay is designated as a County Geology Site by Cornwall Wildlife Trust because of the submerged forest sometimes visible at low tide when not totally or partially covered by sand. The submerged forest is one of many in Cornwall and includes tree stumps and roots, woody material, seeds, well-preserved land-snails and bones of frog/toad and other animals, and is dated, from one sample, at between four and four and a half thousand years old.

St. Enodoc Church, Trebetherick (Old Cornish: Gwenedek, St. Guenedoc) is a chapel in the parish of St Minver. It is located to the south of the village of Trebetherick, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom (grid reference SW931772). It is a Grade I listed building.

Brea Hill (Cornish: Bre, meaning hill), pronounced "Bray Hill" is a round hill beside the River Camel estuary in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom The hill is 62 metres (203 ft) high and there are Bronze Age tumuli (burial mounds) at the summit. The underlying geology in this area of Cornwall is Devonian slates. Brea Hill is situated at the south end of Daymer Bay between the settlements of Trebetherick and Rock in the civil parish of St Minver Lowlands. approximately five miles northwest of WadebridgeOn the west side, Brea Hill rises straight from the foreshore; on the north and south it rises from low sand dunes. To the east, the dunes give way to a golf course and grassland with St Enodoc's Church (where the poet Sir John Betjeman is buried) just below the hill. Brea Hill is within the Rock Dunes SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). The reason that Brea Hill is such a positive feature in the landscape is that the centre of the hill, west to east, is a dolerite dyke, well-seen from the beach on the west and in the quarry on the east slope and in both exposures soft-sediment deformation is seen implying the intrusion followed shortly after deposition of the material which later became slate during the Variscan Orogeny. The dyke is shown on the British Geological Survey map Sheets 335 and 336, and memoir, for the Geology around Trevose Head and Camelford. The South West Coast Path follows the west flank of the hill with an alternative route passing to the east. Brea Hill is grassed and treeless (except for a small wooded area low on the south flank) with rough footpaths leading to the summit and burial mounds.

The Doom Bar (previously known as Dunbar sands, Dune-bar, and similar names) is a sandbar at the mouth of the estuary of the River Camel, where it meets the Celtic Sea on the north coast of Cornwall, England. Like two other permanent sandbanks further up the estuary, the Doom Bar is composed mainly of marine sand that is continually being carried up from the seabed. More than 60 percent of the sand is derived from marine shells, making it an important source of agricultural lime, which has been collected for hundreds of years; an estimated 10 million tons of sand or more has been removed from the estuary since the early nineteenth century, mainly by dredging. The estuary mouth, exposed to the Atlantic Ocean, is a highly dynamic environment, and the sands have been prone to dramatic shifts during storms. According to tradition, the Doom Bar formed in the reign of Henry VIII, damaging the prosperity of the port of Padstow a mile up the estuary. Until the twentieth century, access to Padstow's harbour was via a narrow channel between the Doom Bar and the cliffs at Stepper Point, a difficult passage for sailing ships to navigate, especially in north-westerly gales when the cliffs would cut off the wind. Many ships were wrecked on the Doom Bar, despite the installation of mooring rings and capstans on the cliffs and quarrying away part of Stepper Point to improve the wind. In the early twentieth century the main channel moved away from the cliffs, and continued dredging has made it much safer for boats, but deaths have occurred on the bar as recently as May 2020.A Cornish folklore legend relates that a mermaid created the bar as a dying curse on the harbour after she was shot by a local man. The Doom Bar has been used in poetry to symbolise feelings of melancholy, and has given its name to the flagship ale from the local Sharp's Brewery.

Stepper Point (Cornish: Penn Stuppert) is a headland on the Atlantic coast in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is at grid reference SW911781. Stepper Point and Pentire Point stand at either side of the mouth of the River Camel; Stepper to the south-west, Pentire to the north-east.

Hawker's Cove is a small coastal settlement in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated one-and-a-half miles (2 kilometres) north of Padstow on the west side of the River Camel estuary .The hamlet consists of two terraces of cottages, a few detached dwellings, a coastguard station and a boathouse with a slipway which once housed the Padstow lifeboat. The actor Edward Woodward lived there until his death in 2009. The first lifeboat, built by the Padstow Harbour Association, was kept at Hawker's Cove and in 1855 the Padstow branch of the RNLI was formed. A new boathouse with a roller slipway was built in 1931. By the 1960s, silting was becoming a problem and in October 1967 the Padstow lifeboat relocated to a new boathouse and slipway at Trevose Head, a few miles to the west. Facilities at Hawkers Cove are limited, although there is now a (tiny) tea garden at the back of the two-hundred-year-old ‘Coastguard Houses’, approximately 150m from the slipway at the beach. Evidence has been found of occupation during the Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman periods, and the use of Harbour Cove for trading vessels.Road access to Hawker's Cove is via a lane which leads from the Padstow-St Merryn road through Crugmeer to Lellizzick . As traffic is discouraged beyond Lellizzick, motorists are directed to a nearby carpark from where a track leads to the coastpath at Tregirls beach.

Splatt is a small settlement in north Cornwall, England, at grid reference SW 945 763. It lies in St Minver Lowlands parish between Pityme and Rock, although the buildings along the Rock Road are continuous.It should not be confused with Splatt in the parish of Tresmeer.
