Pilot Mountain (North Carolina)

Pilot Mountain State Park is a North Carolina state park in Surry and Yadkin Counties, North Carolina in the United States. Located near Pinnacle, North Carolina on highway US 52, it covers 3,872 acres (15.67 km2) and includes the distinctive 2,241 foot (683 m) peak of Pilot Mountain.

The township had a population of 1,936 according to the 2020 census.Geographically, Shoals Township occupies 28.7 square miles (74 km2) in southern Surry County, with its southern border running along the Yadkin River. There are no incorporated municipalities within Shoals Township; however, there are several smaller, unincorporated communities located here, including the community of Shoals.

Geographically, Pilot Township occupies 23.1 square miles (60 km2) in eastern Surry County. The only incorporated municipality within Pilot Township is the Town of Pilot Mountain. Pilot Township is named for the landmark peak of Pilot Mountain

Bank of Pilot Mountain is a historic bank building in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. It was built in 1900, and is a two-story, five-bay-by-seven-bay, rectangular Queen Anne–style red brick building. It has round-arched brickwork at the entrance topped by a domed turret. It originally housed the Pilot Bank and Trust Company, then the Bank of Pilot Mountain from 1914 to 1986. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
