Estelle is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 17,952 in 2020. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner metropolitan statistical area. Estelle is located south of Marrero; the urbanized areas of the communities meet, and some businesses in Estelle list their addresses as "Marrero". The Jean Lafitte National Park Barataria Preserve is adjacent to Estelle.

WWL (870 kHz) is an AM radio station in New Orleans, Louisiana, owned by Audacy, Inc. WWL and 105.3 WWL-FM simulcast a news/talk format with sports talk at night. The studios are in the 400 Poydras Tower in the New Orleans Central Business District. WWL is a clear-channel, Class A station. It is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations in the U.S. It uses a directional antenna with a two-tower array. The transmitter is in the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park in Estelle, Louisiana. The daytime signal provides at least secondary coverage to large parts of the Gulf Coast, with city-grade coverage reaching as far east as Pensacola, Florida, and as far west as Lafayette, Louisiana. At night it can be heard across much of the central and southern United States. WWL is the Louisiana Primary Entry Point for the Emergency Alert System (EAS). With sister station 101.9 WLMG, it is responsible for activation of the Southeast Louisiana EAS plan.

During Hurricane Katrina, the school suffered wind damage to many of its buildings.

The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway West Closure Complex is a part of the New Orleans Drainage System; it consists of a navigable floodgate, a pumping station, flood walls, sluice gates, foreshore protection, and an earthen levee. The complex was designed to reduce risk for residences and businesses in the project area from a storm surge associated with a tropical event, with an intensity that has a one percent chance of occurring in any given year. This project was operated for the first time on August 29, 2012, in response to Hurricane Isaac.

It is located just 15 minutes from Downtown New Orleans in a region known as the Westbank. Established in 1956, West Jefferson Medical Center is situated near vast industrial and maritime corridors and offers a full set of medical services in the Westbank region of Jefferson, Plaquemines, and St. Charles Parishes. The hospital is a part of the LCMC Health System.

KKNO (750 AM) is a commercial radio station broadcasting an urban gospel radio format. Licensed to Gretna, Louisiana, the station serves the New Orleans metropolitan area. The station is currently owned by Robert C. Blakes Enterprises, Inc. It uses the slogan "Unmistakably Christian Radio." By day, KKNO is powered at 250 watts, using a non-directional antenna. But because AM 750 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WSB in Atlanta, KKNO is a daytimer. To avoid interference, it must go off the air at night. The transmitter is on Industry Street in Harvey, Louisiana.
