The Albert J. Zabriskie Farmhouse is located at the current address of 7 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, just east of New Jersey Route 17. This is one of several Zabriskie historic sites associated with the descendants of prominent settler Albrycht Zaborowski (1638–1711). This stone house was built in 1805 by Albert Jacob Zabriskie (1760–1835) in the New Jersey Dutch style, owned by four generations of the family until 1924, and added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 7, 1977. Due to confusion from the street name and handwritten notes on one page of the NRHP nomination, the building is sometimes mistakenly listed as being in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Mahwah covers the largest area of any municipality, at 26.19 square miles (67.8 km2).Bergen County is one of the largest commercial hubs in both New Jersey and the United States, generating over $6 billion in annual revenues from retailers in Paramus alone, despite blue laws keeping most stores in the county open only six days per week. The county is one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, with a median household income of $109,497 (compared to $89,703 in New Jersey and $69,021 nationwide) and a per capita income of $55,710 (vs. $46,691 in the state and $37,638 in the U.S.) as of the 2017–2021 American Community Survey. Bergen County has some of the highest home prices in New Jersey, with the median home price in 2022 exceeding $600,000. The county's park system covers more than 9,000 acres (3,600 ha).

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) deemed Maywood Chemical a Superfund site in 1983 and has since been in the clean process.

The Bergen County Special Services School District is a special education public school district based in Paramus, serving the educational needs of classified students ages 3 to 21 from Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Established in 1971, it was the first of eight special services districts established in the state.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of six schools, had an enrollment of NA students and 201.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of NA:1.

As of the 2014-15 school year, the district and its one school had an enrollment of 33 students and 9.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 3.5:1.

The Midland School is located in Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The schoolhouse was built in 1876 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 7, 1978. The building is currently used as the Charles E. Reid branch of the Paramus Public Library and should not be confused with the later-built elementary school next door which is also named Midland School.

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center (previously known as Bergen Regional Medical Center) is an acute and long-term care hospital located in Paramus, New Jersey, US. The hospital campus also houses a nursing home and a mental health facility. The facility first opened in 1916 as the Bergen County Isolation Hospital, housing patients with tuberculosis and other contagious diseases. It later became known as Bergen Pines, inspired by the planting of more than 1,000 young pine trees donated in 1924 by Hackensack's Pioneer Masonic Lodge. In 1998, Bergen County contracted with the Solomon Health Group to form Bergen Regional Medical Center.

Bergen County Technical High School, Paramus Campus is a tuition-free public magnet high school in Paramus, serving students in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school is part of the Bergen County Technical Schools, which also includes Bergen County Academies in Hackensack and the Bergen County Technical High School, Teterboro Campus. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 293 students and 45.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 6.4:1. There were 59 students (20.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 13 (4.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Seven Chimneys, also known as the Nicholas Zabriskie House, was built between 1745 and 1750 by Nicholas Zabriskie, an early Dutch settler in the Hudson Valley. It is the oldest house in Washington Township, Bergen County, New Jersey. Notable visitors include Theodore Roosevelt. The house was used as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Seven Chimneys was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Alpine Learning Group is a state funding approved private special education school in Paramus, New Jersey, United States. Established in 1988, the school serves students aged 3 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder, and it is known to be a prestigious educational and research facility utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.Although private schools are often independently funded, Alpine has each student's local district cover the tuition.
