The Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a velodrome in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France. It was built between 2011 and 2014 and hosted the 2015, 2022 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and the 2016 UEC European Track Championships. It will host the cycling venue in the 2024 Summer Olympics. Next to the velodrome is also a BMX stadium.

The Fort de Bois-d'Arcy, also called the Batterie de Bois-d'Arcy, is one of the forts constructed at the end of the 19th century to defend Paris. It is located in the commune of Bois d'Arcy in the Yvelines département of France. The fort is located in the southern part of the town to the south of Route nationale 12. It is now the home of the French national film archives, the Centre national de la cinématographie.

The Fort de Saint-Cyr, located in the commune of Montigny-le-Bretonneux, (Yvelines), is one of the forts built at the end of the 19th century to defend Paris. After the first world war the fort was used as an army weather station and arms depot. Classed in 1992 as a monument historique, it is now used as a film depository for the preservation of movies under the Cinémathèque française.

École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile (ESTACA) is a French engineering School, so called "Grande École", created in 1925. ESTACA is an Engineering school that trains engineers in aeronautics & aerospace engineering, naval engineering, automotive engineering and railway engineering. In addition to its training activities, the school also conducts applied research in the aeronautics, automotive, space, guided transport and naval sectors. Located in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Bordeaux and Laval, the school is recognised by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur. On 25 September 2012, it joined the ISAE Group.

Bois-d'Arcy (French pronunciation: [bwɑ daʁsi]) is a commune in the Yvelines department in north-central France. It is the origin of the English surname Darcy.

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ kɑ̃.tɛ̃ ɑ̃.n‿iv.lin]) is a new town and an agglomeration community in the French department of Yvelines. It is one of the original five villes nouvelles (new towns) of Paris and was named after the Saint Quentin Pond, which was chosen to become the town's centre. The town was built from a greenfield site starting in the 1960s. Its area is 119.2 km2. In 2018, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines had a population of 228,312. It is part of the much larger Paris metropolitan area, and is around 25 km (16 mi) west of the centre of Paris.

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines–Montigny-le-Bretonneux is a station on the Paris–Brest railway. It is served by Paris's express suburban rail system, the RER Line C and by suburban Transilien Line N and U services. The station opened in 1975. It is within Montigny-le-Bretonneux.

The Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Observatory is an astronomical observatory affiliated with the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University. Built in Guyancourt, France in 2009, it focuses on the fields of climate change and sustainable development.

Montigny-le-Bretonneux (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃tiɲi lə bʁətɔnø] ) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located in the south-western suburbs of Paris, 24.5 kilometres (15.2 miles) from the centre of Paris, in the "new town" of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, of which it is the central and most populated commune.

The canton of Montigny-le-Bretonneux is an administrative division of the Yvelines department, northern France. Its borders were not modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. The Étang de Saint-Quentin, or pond of Trappes, is the largest body of fresh water in Yvelines with a surface of approximately 2.5 km². It on in the perimeter of the new town of Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines, in the commune of Trappes and Montigny-le-Bretonneux. The lake an important base of outdoor recreation. To the west of the lake a national natural reserve of 0.87 km² was established in 1986. The Étang de Saint-Quentin is an artificial lake created by Sebastien Prestre, Lord of Vauban in 1685 to form part of an engineering work intended to feed water, by gravity, to the park of Versailles. The lake is 160 metres above sea level. A series of drains and aqueducts connected the lake to other ponds upstream, and downstream to the park of the castle of Versailles, at 110 metres above sea level. The construction of the new city demolished the aqueducts to Versailles.

The Arcades du Lac, built in 1981, is an ensemble of apartment buildings in the outer Paris ville nouvelle of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, near Versailles. The mixed suburban housing and HLM complex was designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura as the centerpiece of an urban composition, with the central portion "Le Viaduc" jutting into an artificial lake from the shore. The design was inspired by the Pont d'Avignon, Château de Chenonceau and the Aqueduct of Segovia.The entire project was described by architecture critic Charles Jencks as an adaptation of Versailles as a "Versailles for the people" while noting influences of Claude Nicolas Ledoux in the detailing of the elevations. Bofill's design intention was to offer a contrast between the new housing of the 1970s and 1980s and the earlier Le Corbusier-inspired housing projects of the 1950s and 1960s.
