Northbrook School District 27 is a school district located in Northbrook, Illinois.

Buffalo Creek is an 11.2-mile-long (18.0 km) tributary of the Des Plaines River. It begins in Lake Zurich, Illinois and flows mainly south-eastward through Kildeer, Long Grove, Buffalo Grove and Wheeling. In Wheeling, it is named Wheeling Drainage Ditch. It joins the Des Plaines River next to Chicago Executive Airport.

Riverwoods is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. It was established on the banks of the Des Plaines River in 1959 by local steel magnate Jay Peterson. Per the 2020 census, the population was 3,790. The corporate headquarters of Discover Financial and CCH are located there, as well as Orphans of the Storm, an animal shelter founded in 1928 by famous dancer Irene Castle. The village used to host the annual "Arts & Riverwoods" festival.

Shri Swaminarayan Temple, Wheeling is a Swaminarayan Hindu temple located in the Chicago suburb of Wheeling. It comes under the International Swaminarayan Satsang Mandal (Laxmi Narayan Dev Gadi) of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The temple is also a member of the International Swaminarayan Satsang Organisation.Opened on 26 May 1991 by Acharya Shree Ajendraprasadji Maharaj, it is built on two acres of land.Built at a cost of $1.7 million, it is a tri-spire temple with the spires adorning the front edge of the flat topped building. Surrounded by industrial structures, it is a square-shaped, cream coloured structure with a big prayer hall that caters to a 40,000 strong community and is run entirely by volunteers. The image of Swaminarayan is worshipped in pictorial form along with other avatars of Narayana.

Town Street ends at Wheeling Station as a cul-de-sac with parking in the middle of the U-Turn. Deerfield is one of two Metra commuter railroad stations in Deerfield, Illinois along the Milwaukee District North Line. It is located at 860 Deerfield Road, 2 blocks west of Illinois State Route 43, is 24.6 miles (39.6 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the southern terminus of the line. The station serves commuters between Union Station and Fox Lake, Illinois. As of 2018, Deerfield is the 39th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,133 weekday boardings. The current station originally served the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad, and replaced two older stations built by the railway. As of December 12, 2022, Deerfield is served by 50 trains (24 inbound, all 26 outbound) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. On weekdays, two inbound trains originate here, and two outbound trains terminate here. The commuter parking lot east of the station and tracks is the site of the Deerfield Farmer's Market, Saturday Mornings from June to October.
