New Cross Fire Station

The Montague Arms was a music venue located at 289 Queens Road, in the Telegraph Hill ward of Lewisham, on the borders of Peckham and New Cross in south-east London from 1967 until 2018. The pub venue was known for its eccentric decor; which included old fishing-boat lights, a 19th Century carriage containing a stuffed zebra, and an old diving suit.

Hatcham was a manor and later a chapelry in what is now London, England. It largely corresponds to the area around New Cross in the London Borough of Lewisham. The ancient parish of Deptford straddled the counties of Surrey and Kent and there came to be a doubt about which county jurisdiction the manor of Hatcham came under. In 1636, the matter was settled by placing it entirely within Surrey. Hatcham became part of Deptford St Paul when the parish was divided in 1730. It has lent its name to the ecclesiastical parishes of All Saints' Hatcham Park, St Catherine's Hatcham, and St James' Hatcham, as the Church of England has thus far avoided the neologism New Cross which came in after the railways were built. In the Domesday Book it is recorded as Hacheham. The name means "home of a man named Hæcci" and derives from an Old English personal name. It is described as a manor containing land for three ploughs, nine villagers and two smallholders, 6 acres (24,000 m2) of meadowland and woodland for 3 pigs. Hatcham formed part of the Brixton Hundred of Surrey in medieval times. The manor was bought by the Haberdashers' Company in 1614, which later demolished the former manor house (during the 1840s) for redevelopment and the foundation of its schools.Hatcham has been included within the Metropolitan Police District since 1830. In 1855 it was included in the area of responsibility of the Metropolitan Board of Works, in the Greenwich District. It became part of the County of London in 1889 and the Metropolitan Borough of Deptford in 1900.Although the place name has largely fallen out of common parlance, its use is retained by several organisations including the Hatcham Liberal Club on Queen's Road and in the names of Haberdashers' Hatcham College. Hatcham also constitutes a conservation area nowadays for planning purposes. The area largely corresponds to the contemporary district known as New Cross Gate.

New Cross Hospital was a hospital in the New Cross district of south east London, open from 1877 until around 1991.

Old Kent Road was a railway station on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway line in south London. It took its name from the Old Kent Road on which it was located.

St. Thomas the Apostle College is a Roman Catholic secondary school for boys in Nunhead, London. A co-educational Sixth Form was opened in 2015. The school was rebuilt and the new school building was opened by the Archbishop of Southwark, Peter Smith, in January 2013. The original Catholic chapel, an important feature in the life of the school, was retained and is the focus for the Catholic and pastoral life of the students. In September 2015, St Thomas the Apostle College expanded its provision by opening a co-educational Sixth Form.

The Old Den (known while in use as the Den) was the fifth football stadium occupied by Millwall F.C. in Cold Blow Lane, New Cross, London since their formation in Millwall on the Isle of Dogs in 1885 before moving to the New Den (now called the Den), in May 1993. The ground opened in 1910 and was the home of Millwall for 83 years. It boasted a record attendance of 48,672 (v Derby County in 1937). Millwall played a total of 1788 games at the Den in all competitions, winning 976, losing 360 and with 452 drawn.

Nunhead railway station is in the Nunhead area of the London Borough of Southwark. It is 5 miles 77 chains (9.6 km) measured from London Victoria. The station is managed by Thameslink. It is in Travelcard Zone 2.

Brimmington Park is a small 1.79 hectares (4.4 acres) park in Peckham, London. It is located on Old Kent Road, Clifton Crescent and Culmore Road, London SE15 2RQ. It is also adjacent to the former Old Kent Road and Hatcham railway station, which closed temporarily in 1917 but which has never been re-opened.

Queens Road Peckham railway station is in the London Borough of Southwark and also serves the area to the east of Peckham, in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is on the South London Line, 2 miles 58 chains (4.4 km) from London Bridge, and trains also go to Croydon via various routes and beyond. It is on the road of that name and is in Travelcard Zone 2.

New Cross Stadium, Hornshay Street, Old Kent Road, in South East London was opened in the early 1900s as an athletic stadium but was mainly used for greyhound racing and speedway. The ground was adjacent to The Old Den, the then home of Millwall F.C. and was used as a training ground by the club when they did not have facilities of their own. The track was often referred to as 'The Frying Pan'. It was built inside the greyhound track and had banking all the way round. At the time of its closure in 1969 the stadium had a capacity of 26,000. The stadium was demolished in 1975.

Haberdashers' Hatcham College (formerly Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College) is a state secondary school with academy status and a music specialism located in New Cross. The school was formerly a grammar school, then a comprehensive City Technology College and now an Academy operating between two sites near New Cross Gate in South-East London. In 2005 the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers established the Haberdashers' Aske's Academies Federation, which includes HAHC.

New Cross Gate is a railway station in New Cross, London, on the Brighton Main Line and the London Overground. It is 2 miles 70 chains (2.88 miles, 4.63 km) down the line from London Bridge and is about 600 m (660 yd) west of New Cross station. It is in Travelcard Zone 2, and is operated by London Overground.
