Evelyn Scott School is located in Denman Prospect in the Australian Capital Territory. It is named after Indigenous Australian activist and educator Evelyn Scott.The school opened to primary school students in 2021. It will open to high school students in 2023. The school has been designed to have Zero emissions, with solar panels and double glazed windows.

The district is subdivided into divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks and is the newest district of the ACT. To be developed in three stages over more than ten years, the district will contain a principal town centre and a secondary group centre, with residential suburbs located to the south and north of the Molonglo River; located to the west of Lake Burley Griffin. Mount Stromlo Observatory located just outside Canberra, Australia, is part of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University (ANU). Australia's oldest telescope and several others at the observatory were destroyed by bushfire in 2003.

Many Canberra suburbs are named after prime ministers or other politicians, but only at least a year post death. The ACT government waited a year before announcing a suburb named Whitlam. Whitlam is the northernmost suburb in the Molonglo Valley district, positioned to the north of Denman Prospect.The ACT government plans to release 500 residential dwelling lots in 2018–19, 600 in 2019–20 and another 500 in 2020–21.Whitlam is a cat containment area, meaning that pet cats are not permitted to roam freely outside householder's yards.

It produces about 200 megawatt-hours (720 GJ) megawatt hours of electricity per month. Production of energy depends on the water flow into the nearby Mount Stromlo Water Treatment Plant. It was constructed in 2000 and is operated by Icon Water, the water and sewerage utility of the Australian Capital Territory.
