Mount Stromlo Hydro-Power Station

Mount Stromlo Observatory located just outside Canberra, Australia, is part of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University (ANU). Australia's oldest telescope and several others at the observatory were destroyed by bushfire in 2003.

Yarrolumla Parish is a former parish of Murray County, New South Wales, a cadastral unit for use on land titles. It was formed in the nineteenth century, and existed until 1 January 1911, when the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910 came into force, after the land was transferred to the Commonwealth government in 1909 to be used to form the Australian Capital Territory. It is one of the four former parishes of Murray County which became part of the ACT, along with Canberra, Narrabundah and Gigerline. While other parishes lost land to the ACT, these were the only ones to lose all of the land within the parish. It was bounded to the north by the Molonglo River, and to the west and south by the Murrumbidgee River. It includes the area around Mount Stromlo, and the north-western part of Weston Creek, including Duffy. It does not actually include the present day suburb of Yarralumla, which was in Narrabundah parish, but it was close to it.

The Murrumbidgee electorate is one of the five electorates for the unicameral 25-member Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. It elected five members at the 2016 ACT election.

Mount Stromlo (formerly Mount Strom) is a mountain with an elevation of 770 metres (2,530 ft) AHD  that is situated in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The mountain is most notable as the location of the Mount Stromlo Observatory. The mountain forms part of the catchment area of the Cotter River which in turn is the primary water supply for part of ACT.

Stromlo Forest Park is an Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government-supported outdoor recreation facility. It is located in western area of the ACT, adjacent to the Molonglo Valley, and about 15 minutes' drive from Canberra's Central Business District.

Evelyn Scott School is located in Denman Prospect in the Australian Capital Territory. It is named after Indigenous Australian activist and educator Evelyn Scott.The school opened to primary school students in 2021. It will open to high school students in 2023. The school has been designed to have Zero emissions, with solar panels and double glazed windows.

Denman Prospect is a suburb currently under development in the Molonglo Valley district of Canberra, located within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. It is named in honour of Lady Denman, the wife of the fifth Governor-General of Australia, The Lord Denman. The principal ceremonial occasion during Lady Denman's term as first lady was the inauguration of the Federal capital on 12 March 1913. Lady Denman stood upon the newly laid Foundation Stones and pronounced, "I name the capital of Australia – Canberra". The name Denman Prospect was selected to distinguish the locality from the town of Denman, New South Wales. The use of the suffix 'prospect' meaning view, vision or the outlook for the future, is considered significant in the context of the naming of Canberra by Lady Denman and Lord Denman's ensuing visionary speech for the future of the capital.The streets of Denman Prospect are named after activists and reformers.

Duffy (postcode: 2611) is a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, located in the district of Weston Creek. Duffy was named in honour of Sir Charles Gavan Duffy (1816–1903), the 8th Premier of Victoria. Streets in the suburb of Duffy are named after Australian dams and reservoirs.

Molonglo Valley is a district in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. Is the only district that was not created in 1966. The district is subdivided into divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks and is the newest district of the ACT. The district is planned to consist of thirteen suburbs, planned to contain 33,000 dwellings, with an expected population of between 50,000 and 73,000. To be developed in three stages over more than ten years, the district will contain a principal town centre and a secondary group centre, with residential suburbs located to the south and north of the Molonglo River; located to the west of Lake Burley Griffin. The name Molonglo is derived from an Aboriginal expression meaning "the sound of thunder".At the 2021 census, the population of the district was 11,435, an increase from 4,578 in 2016.

Rivett () (postcode: 2611) is a residential suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, established in the late 1960s. At the 2021 census, Rivett had a population of 3,354. It is situated on the western edge of the Weston Creek district. Rivett takes its name from Sir David Rivett, the professor of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne (1924–1927), deputy chairman and chief executive officer of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, 1927–1946), chairman of the council of CSIRO (1946–1949), and president of Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science (1937–1939).Streets in Rivett are named after Australian flora.Several homes in Rivett were burnt, and many residents evacuated during the 2003 Canberra bushfires.

Holder () is suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, located in the district of Weston Creek and is 13 km to the southwest of the Canberra city centre. It sits on the western edge of the Canberra suburbs, and overlooks no longer bare land towards Mount Stromlo to the west and Molonglo Valley to the north.
