Nord-Trøndelag University College (Norwegian: Høgskolen i Nord-Trøndelag or HiNT) was a Norwegian university college located throughout the county of Nord-Trøndelag. HiNT had about 5,500 students and 440 employees in 2013. In January 2016, the university was merged with Nesna University College and the University of Nordland, becoming Nord University. The school offered higher education within nursing, teaching, business administration, public administration, pharmacy, agriculture, engineering and information technology. Master degrees were offered within gymnastics (since 1971), interdisciplinary health studies and knowledge management, while a Master of Science in public administration was offered in cooperation with Trondheim Business School and Copenhagen Business School. Prior to the consolidation, its campuses were located in Levanger, Namsos, Steinkjer and Stjørdal, with the administration in Steinkjer. The college was created in 1994 as a merger between a number of independent colleges in the county. HiNT had a revenue of NOK 330 million in 2008. Prior to the merger, the university college was associated with the research institution Trøndelag R&D Institute. HiNT took over the National Driving Teacher School in Stjørdal on 1 January 2004.

Vold Station (Norwegian: Vold holdeplass) was a railway station on the Nordland Line in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The station was located in Voll, just southeast of the village of Skatval. It opened in 1938. In 1959, the station was moved 100 meters (330 ft) southwards. The station was closed on 27 May 1990.

Stjørdal Station (Norwegian: Stjørdal stasjon) is a railway station located in the town of Stjørdalshalsen in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The station is located along the Nordland Line. It is located just north of the intersection of the E14 and E6 highways. The station serves both local and express trains northbound to Innherred and Nordland and southbound to Trondheim Central Station. The Trøndelag Commuter Rail between Steinkjer and Trondheim stops here hourly.

Forbordsfjellet is a mountain in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The 590-metre (1,940 ft) tall mountain lies directly to the north of Trondheim Airport, Værnes and the town of Stjørdalshalsen and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northeast of the village of Skatval. There is a toll road to the summit from European route E6 near Skatval Church. Forbordsfjellet is also used for paragliding. IL Fram organizes a 4.8-kilometre (3.0 mi) long backhill race that starts at Skatval Church and has a finish at the top of the mountain. Many tourists and residents come to the top to look at the views of the lower Stjørdalen valley, the Åsenfjorden, and towards Trondheim. The name comes from the little farming village of Forbord, located west of the mountain. The name Forbord supposedly means "at the foot of the mountain". Thus, the name Forbordsfjellet can, oddly enough, be translated into "at the foot of the mountain-mountain". The solution to this logical problem may be that the hamlet at the foot of the mountain may have been named Forbord first, but when the locals forgot the name of the mountain, they simply called it Forbordsfjellet, meaning the mountain at Forbord. There are no other known names on the mountain. A popular destination for hiking is Svartkamhytta.

Skatval Church (Norwegian: Skatval kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Skatval. It is the church for the Skatval parish which is part of the Stjørdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design and a Swiss chalet style in 1901 using plans drawn up by the architect Johan Wæhre. The church seats about 440 people.

Stjørdalshalsen or Stjørdal (nickname: Halsen) is a town and the administrative centre of Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located between the rivers Stjørdalselva and Gråelva to the south and north and by the Trondheimsfjord to the west. The 8.74-square-kilometre (2,160-acre) town has a population (2024) of 15,693 and a population density of 1,796 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,650/sq mi). Stjørdalshalsen was granted town status in 1997. The Nordland Line runs through the town, which is served by Stjørdal Station. The junction of the European route E14 and European route E6 highways is in Stjørdalshalsen, just north of Trondheim Airport, Værnes. Stjørdalshalsen has quite a variety of industry including industries involving mineral products, glassware, plastics, and food production. There is also the offices of the operational management for the Heidrun field in the North Sea. The administrative offices for the Central Norway Regional Health Authority are also in the town. Ole Vig Upper Secondary School and some primary schools are also located in the town.

Nedre Stjørdalen is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1850 until its dissolution in 1902. The 340-square-kilometre (130 sq mi) municipality covered the western part of what is now Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was located at Værnes where Værnes Church is located.

Stjørdal Church (Norwegian: Stjørdal kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the town of Stjørdalshalsen. It is one of the churches for the Stjørdal parish which is part of the Stjørdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The modern, stone church was built in a rectangular design in 2015 using plans drawn up by the architect Kai Rune Bakke. The church seats about 240 people.

Trondheim Airport Station (IATA code: TRD), also known as Værnes Station (Norwegian: Værnes holdeplass), is a railway station located within the terminal complex of Trondheim Airport, Værnes in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Situated on the Nordland Line, it serves both express trains and the Trøndelag Commuter Rail both operated by the state-owned company SJ Norge. The station was opened on 15 November 1994 along with a new terminal at the airport, making it the first airport rail link in the Nordic countries. The station cost 24 million kr, and was built along the existing railway line. In each direction, the station handles one to two hourly commuter rail services, and three daily express services. Travel time to Trondheim is 38 minutes, while it is 9 hours and 5 minutes to Bodø. Access to the airport terminal is outdoors, but sheltered.

Hell Station (Norwegian: Hell stasjon) is a railway station located in the village of Hell in Stjørdal Municipality in the Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located at the intersection of the Nordland Line and the Meråker Line.

Stjørdalselva (lit. 'Stjørdal River') is a 70-kilometre (43 mi) long river that reaches from near the Norwegian–Swedish border down the Stjørdalen valley through Meråker Municipality and Stjørdal Municipality before entering the Trondheimsfjord. The mouth is located on the south side of the town Stjørdalshalsen, just south of Trondheim Airport, Værnes. The village of Hell lies on the south side of the river's mouth. The mouth of the river was moved to allow the runway to expand into the delta. The European route E14 highway and the Meråker Line railway follow the river from its source the entire length of the river.

Sandferhus station (Norwegian: Sandferhus holdeplass) was a railway station on the Nordland Line at Værnes in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag, Norway. The station opened on 1 July 1953 and was known as Sandfærhus until November 1953. Train services stopped on 20 May 1988 and the station was officially closed on 28 May 1989.
