Loemühlenbach is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows into the Sickingmühlenbach near Marl.

Marl (German: [maʁl] ) is a town and a municipality in the district of Recklinghausen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated near the Wesel-Datteln Canal, approx. 10 km north-west of Recklinghausen. It has about 90,000 people.

Jahnstadion is a former multi-use stadium in Marl, Germany. It was used as the stadium of TSV Marl-Hüls association football matches. The capacity of the stadium is 25,000 spectators. It has been used exclusively for baseball since 2008. The former main grandstand is now adjacent to left field, with home plate situated near the former opposite grandstand and the farthest point from home plate in fair territory being in right center field.

Marl-Chemiepark Power Station is an ensemble of three thermal power stations. One of these power stations has a 300 meters tall, another a 241 meters tall chimney. The 300 meters chimney was demolished in 1995, using a special excavator.

Sickingmühlenbach is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows into the Lippe near Marl. Upstream from the confluence with its main tributary, the Loemühlenbach, it is also called Silvertbach.

Marl Mitte is a railway station on the Gelsenkirchen-Buer Nord–Marl Lippe railway (a single-track electrified line built in 1968) in Marl in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station and was opened on 24 October 1974.The attached Marl Mitte (S) bus station is one of the central connecting points in the bus network of the Vestische Straßenbahnen. The Marler Stern shopping centre is also in the immediate vicinity of the halt. Access is via a pedestrian bridge with a lift connecting to the Marler Stern as well as via a level access to the east. It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 9 at hourly intervals (Haltern am See - Marl-Hamm - Marl-Mitte - Gelsenkirchen-Buer Nord - Gladbeck-West - Bottrop -Essen Hbf - Velbert - Wuppertal) . Marl-Sinsen is the one of three stations in the city of Marl in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station is classified as station category 5 and is under the station administration of Münster.

Aliso was a military and civilian colony in ancient Germany, built by the emperor Augustus near present-day Haltern am See, when he wanted to create the Roman province of Germania. After the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD, Aliso was the last point of resistance of the Roman troops in Germania. Besieged by the Germans under Arminius, the garrison commanded by the prefect Lucius Caedicius put up a fierce resistance before managing to escape and regain the Roman lines.

Joseph-König-Gymnasium is the only gymnasium in the Westphalian city of Haltern am See. With 1,360 students, it is one of the larger high schools in North Rhine-Westphalia. The school is named after the German chemist Joseph König. It continues tradition of 1844 founded 'Höhere Stadtschule' and later 'Städtisches Gymnasium Haltern'. It shares buildings with 'Alexander-Lebenstein-Realschule'. On March 24, 2015, 16 of its students and two of its teachers were among the passengers murdered when the co-pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525 intentionally crashed into the French Alps. They were on their way home from a student exchange with the Giola Institute in Llinars del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain. Haltern's then mayor, Bodo Klimpel, has described it as "the darkest day in the history of our city".

Haltern am See station is a station in the town of Haltern am See in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Wanne-Eickel–Hamburg railway from Wanne-Eickel to Hamburg. It is the northern terminus of Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 9.It was opened in 1870. It is served by the Rhein-Haard-Express (RE 2), the Niers-Haard-Express (RE 42) and S-Bahn line S 9, each hourly.Since 2022 all platforms are fully accessible via three elevators.
