Model Town Assembly constituency

Model Town is an upscale neighbourhood situated in North Delhi, India. It was built in the early 1950s by the DLF Group, then known as Delhi Land and Finance, and is one of the first privately developed neighborhoods in Delhi. Model Town is a large area and divided into blocks and sub-colonies. It is one of the three administrative divisions of the North Delhi district, along with Alipur and Narela.

Coronation Park is a park located on Burari Road near Nirankari Sarovar in Delhi, India. The park is sometimes referred to as the Coronation Memorial; it was the venue of the Delhi Durbar of 1877 when Queen Victoria was proclaimed the Empress of India. Later it was used to celebrate the accession of King Edward VII in 1903, and, finally, it was here that the Durbar commemorating the coronation of King George V as Emperor of India took place on 12 December 1911, subsequent to his coronation at Westminster Abbey in June 1911. This last celebration had all the princely states in attendance. The decision to hold the Coronation Durbars in Delhi at the vast open ground at Coronation Park was a move to emphasise the historical significance of Delhi as the former capital of the Mughal Empire.Coronation Park has the largest and tallest statue of King George V. The statue was moved here in the mid-1960s from a site opposite India Gate in the centre of New Delhi. It is opposite the Obelisk called the Coronation Memorial, which commemorates the 1911 Durbar, when George V laid the foundation stone for the new capital city of New Delhi.

The Delhi Durbar (lit. "Court of Delhi") was an Indian imperial-style mass assembly organized by the British at Coronation Park, Delhi, India, to mark the succession of an Emperor or Empress of India. Also known as the Imperial Durbar, it was held three times, in 1877, 1903, and 1911, at the height of the British Empire. The 1911 Durbar was the only one that a sovereign, George V, attended. The term was derived from the common Persian term durbar.

The Majlis Park metro station is located on the Pink Line of the Delhi Metro.

The Chhatrasal Stadium is a sports stadium in North Delhi. The stadium is famous for its wrestlers, such as Yogeshwar Dutt, Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Sushil Kumar, Bajrang Punia and Amit Kumar Dahiya who have won medals at Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and numerous world championships. The stadium also hosts athletics, basketball, archery, football and kabaddi matches. The I-League club Sudeva Delhi FC The stadium is currently used by the I-League club Sudeva Delhi FC.

The Model Town Metro Station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro.

The Azadpur Metro Station is an interchange station of the Delhi Metro. It provides interchanges between Yellow Line and the Pink Line.

The place is 10 mins walk from Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Nagar Metro Station and is primarily inhabited by people from the northern part of India mostly Chauhans (Rajputs).The area houses accommodation for students studying in DU and for IAS coaching classes.

Originally native to the Derajat region (districts of Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan in present-day Pakistan). It has a famous gurudwara of Shah Ji in A block. The language spoken by the original inhabitants of this area is Derawali, which is a dialect of Saraiki. Bhatia Chemicals is a very well known & prominent large business. Bhatias in Surat and Ahemadabad also started Textile Factories such as Mohanlal And Sons Dyeing & Printing Mills in G.I.D.C. Pandesara, Surat, Gujarat. Manchanda, Sota, Nangia, Bangia, Arora, Malik, Gera, Kapoor apart from Bhatia are some prominent surnames in the area.
