Văcărești, Bucharest

Lake Văcărești is a lake in the south of Bucharest, Sector 4. The lake has a surface of 140.5 hectares (347 acres). It is now part of the Văcărești Nature Park, a protected zone of nature. Over 100 species of wild birds and animals live in this area. The area is nicknamed Bucharest Delta.

Asmita Gardens is a residential complex located in Bucharest. The complex has a total surface of 70,000 m2 (750,000 sq ft) and is formed by a total of seven towers, five of which have a height of 16 floors (64 m), one tower with a height of 20 floors (80 m), and one tower with a height of 25 floors. At 92.2 m (302 ft), the 25 floor tower T3 is the tallest residential building in Bucharest.The first three towers (5, 6 and 7) which have a city view were completed in April 2009, and the other four towers (1, 2, 3 and 4), 2×16 fl, 1×20 fl and 1×25 fl, which have a river view were completed in September 2009.As of April 2016, 444 apartments were sold and 314 were still available.

Piața Sudului (Southern Square) is a metro station in located in Berceni, Bucharest. Located near the station, above ground is the 'Big Berceni' market, highway to Oltenița (Șoseaua Olteniței) and many other transport options including tram, trolleybus and bus connections, run by the STB. The station is directly linked with the Shopping Mall Sun Plaza through underground. The station was opened on 24 January 1986 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Piața Unirii to Depoul IMGB.

Vitan is a neighborhood in southeastern Bucharest, Romania, along the Dâmbovița River. It is located in Sector 3, and lies between the Titan, Dristor, Centrul Civic, Olteniței, and Berceni districts. According to Dimitrie Papazoglu, its name comes from the Vitan Plain, where the cattle of the townspeople once grazed, while according to historian Adrian Majuru, the neighborhood's name comes from the name of a property owner, whose estate subsequently became a village that was later incorporated into the city. Though it is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Bucharest, it was for a long time notorious for its poverty. The Bucharest Mall is situated in the north side of the neighborhood. The now drained Văcărești Lake is located on the right bank of the Dâmbovița and the use of the 3.06 km2 (1.18 sq mi) of land owned by the state (evaluated to about $650 million) is still undecided. The neighborhood was mostly erased to allow for prefabricated apartment buildings to be constructed on their site between 1986 and 1992, with typical architecture of the era (buildings inspired from North Korean designs). Previously, the only new buildings in the area were the Vitan Post Office (1956) and Polyclinic (1967).

Firemen's Tower (Romanian: Turnul Pompierilor, Hungarian: Tűzoltótorony) is a 47 m high tower in Satu Mare, Romania built in 1904 at the recommendation of bishop Gyula Meszlényi. The architect of the tower was Ferencz Dittler and the builder Lajos Vajnay. The tower was used, because of its height, as a fire spotter by the firemen. Today the tower is a tourist attraction visited by around 100 visitors per day.

RIN Grand Hotel is a four-star hotel located in the Vitan area in Bucharest, Romania. It is located in South – East Bucharest, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from one of the largest squares in Europe, Piaţa Unirii (Union Square), and close to the commercial and historical centers and the București Mall, one of the biggest and most-visited malls in the city.As of 2022, the Rin Grand Hotel is the fifth-largest hotel in Europe and the largest hotel in the European Union in terms of room count, having a total of 1,459 rooms. The modern building has two underground floors and 16 overground floors and a constructed surface area of 115,000 square metres (1,240,000 sq ft).

Mihai Bravu is a metro station in Bucharest. It is named after the road underneath which is built. It serves the residential areas of Vitan, northern Tineretului and Bârzeşti. The station was opened on 28 December 1981 as part of the second phase of Line 1 between Timpuri Noi and Republica.

The Memorial House of Tudor Arghezi also known as Casa Mărțișor is a Historic Monument located in the Dealul Piscului (Peak Hill) area of Sector 4 in Bucharest, Romania. The building was the home of Romanian literature writer Tudor Arghezi from 1930 until his death in 1967.

Târca–Vitan Church (Romanian: Biserica Târca–Vitan) is a Romanian Orthodox church located at 142 Calea Vitan in Bucharest, Romania. It is dedicated to the Feast of the Ascension, to Saint John the Evangelist and to Saints Menas and Charalambos.

Olteniței is a quarter in Bucharest's Sector 4, in the southern part of the city. A subdivision of Berceni, it gained its current form in the 1980s, when apartment buildings were constructed over old houses that were demolished. Most of these buildings are known as "Type 772", a modular prefabricated panel design that was very popular in the 1980s in Romania (its origins lie in a building design from 1976).
