Wasser is a village in southwest Germany, in the Upper Rhine Valley, located at the Elz River. In June 2005, Wasser had 1717 inhabitants. In the mid-1970s it was part incorporated into the city of Emmendingen.

Emmendingen (German pronunciation: [ˈɛmənˌdɪŋən] ; Low Alemannic: Emmedinge) is a town in Baden-Württemberg, capital of the district Emmendingen of Germany. It is located at the Elz River, 14 km (8.7 mi) north of Freiburg im Breisgau. The town contains more than 26,000 residents, which is the most in the Emmendingen district.

The Eichberg Tower is an observation tower on the 369 m high Eichberg mountain above the city of Emmendingen. The tower platform sits 10 m above the surrounding oak forest, and its top over 17 mm making it the highest observation tower in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The tower, created by an association of citizens formed in 1999, was handed over to the city of Emmendingen on September 17, 2005 and is now open to the public.

The Hornberg is a hill in the northern Breisgau in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is an outlier of the Black Forest, running as a north-south ridge between the villages of Windenreute, Kollmarsreute and Sexau into the Upper Rhine Plain. At its northern end is the Hochburg, one of the largest fortresses in South Baden. At its highest point the Hornberg almost reaches a height of 357 metres.

The Hochburg ("high castle") is a castle ruin situated between the city of Emmendingen and the village of Sexau in the region of Baden, located in the southwest of Germany. It was presumably built in the 11th century and was originally known as castle Hachberg. The line of nobles known as the Margraves of Baden-Hachberg most likely derive their name from this castle and before it was razed by the French it was the second largest fortification in Baden.

Tennenbach Abbey (German: Kloster Tennenbach) was a Cistercian abbey in what is now the district of Freiamt in the town of Emmendingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was originally named Porta Coeli (Latin: 'Heaven's Gate').It was founded around 1158 by monks from Frienisberg Abbey, a daughter house of Lucelle Abbey. Tennenbach later became a daughter house of Morimond Abbey and from 1182 of Salem Abbey. The abbot of Tennenbach was also supervisory abbot of Günterstal Abbey, a nearby nunnery, from shortly after its foundation in 1224 until around 1380.It was dissolved in 1806 and demolished in 1829, though the abbey's hospital chapel from the second half of the 13th century survives. The abbey church was taken down and rebuilt in Freiburg im Breisgau as a parish church dedicated to Saint Louis; this was destroyed by Allied bombing in 1944 and a new parish church built to replace it.

Neighbouring districts are (from north clockwise) Ortenaukreis, Schwarzwald-Baar, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the district-free city Freiburg. To the west it borders the French département Bas-Rhin.

Denzlingen station is a station in Denzlingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies on the Rhine Valley Railway at the junction with the Elz Valley Railway (Elztalbahn), which runs to Elzach. It is served by trains operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the Breisgau S-Bahn (BSB) and has a total of four platform tracks. DB designates it as a class 4 station.
