Vörstetten is a town in the district of Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Emmendingen (German: Landkreis Emmendingen) is a Landkreis (district) in the west of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighbouring districts are (from north clockwise) Ortenaukreis, Schwarzwald-Baar, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the district-free city Freiburg. To the west it borders the French département Bas-Rhin.

Emmendingen station is a station in Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was opened with the section of the Rhine Valley Railway from Offenburg to Freiburg on 1 August 1845.

Emmendingen (German pronunciation: [ˈɛmənˌdɪŋən] ; Low Alemannic: Emmedinge) is a town in Baden-Württemberg, capital of the district Emmendingen of Germany. It is located at the Elz River, 14 km (8.7 mi) north of Freiburg im Breisgau. The town contains more than 26,000 residents, which is the most in the Emmendingen district.

Wasser is a village in southwest Germany, in the Upper Rhine Valley, located at the Elz River. In June 2005, Wasser had 1717 inhabitants. In the mid-1970s it was part incorporated into the city of Emmendingen.

The Jewish Museum in Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was opened on April 13, 1997, in a half-timbered house on Castle Square in the city center in the immediate vicinity of the former synagogue that was destroyed in 1938. In the basement one can visit the nineteenth century mikvah that was restored and is a protected monument. On the ground floor there is an exhibition on the history of the Jewish community in Emmendingen between 1716 and 1940. The fate of Emmendingen Jews under the Nazi regime is clearly documented. Moreover, the museum displays objects regarding Jewish religious and everyday life. Jewish holidays during the course of the year are explained in detail. On the upper floor there is a reading and meeting room with literature and videos about Judaism and Jewish history.

Gundelfingen im Breisgau (Low Alemannic: Gundelfinge im Brisgau) is a municipality directly north of the city Freiburg in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Gundelfingen is one of the larger municipalities in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. It consists of the old place Gundelfingen and the village Wildtal, which was included in the municipality in the 1970s.

The Hugstetten rail disaster occurred on the railway line between Freiburg im Breisgau and Breisach am Rhein on 3 September 1882. With 64 people killed and some 230 seriously injured, it was the deadliest train accident in German history until the collision of two D-Trains in the Genthin rail disaster on 21 December 1939, which claimed 278 casualties.

The Fraunhofer IWM is a research and development partner for both industry and public institutions whose themes include the safety, reliability, life expectancy and functionality of materials in components and manufacturing processes. The broad spectrum of services offered by the Fraunhofer IWM's business units aid their clients and project partners in the assessment and continuing development of highly stressed materials and components and in the optimization of production process. Established in 1971 in Freiburg in Breisgau, the institute expanded in 1992 to include a location in Halle (Saale). On 1 January 2016 the Halle division of the Fraunhofer IWM became the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of materials and Systems IMWS.
