Gilreath's Mill

The Earle R. Taylor House and Peach Packing Shed, in Greenville County, South Carolina, near Greer, South Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 27, 2012.

Chick Springs is a mineral springs in present-day Taylors, Greenville County, South Carolina, which from the mid-nineteenth to the early twentieth century served as the focus of a small Upstate South Carolina resort community.

Southern Bleachery and Print Works is a historic factory building in Taylors, Greenville County, South Carolina. Founded by former Furman University English professor Bennette Geer (who was operating under the aegis of James Buchanan Duke), and built by the J. E. Sirrine Company of Greenville, the mill operated between 1924 and 1965, with the last historic structure being built in 1952. The property consists of 15 contributing resources, including a main building, warehouses, a smokestack, a detached boiler room with smokestack, a filtration plant, and two ponds. The bleachery acquired unfinished goods produced by other textile mills and converted them by bleaching, dyeing, and finishing into material used to manufacture clothing and other items. A small mill village, including Baptist and Methodist churches, was established nearby, and many mill houses continued to exist into the 21st century.There are about 827,000 square feet of interior space, and although after closure of the mill in 1965, a few businesses operated from the facility, no major company ever again used its "cavernous halls." In 2015, the main portion of the structure was purchased by Taylors Mill Development, LLP, and space was leased to artists and craftsmen as well as to a restaurant, a brewery, and a bar. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is a confessional Presbyterian seminary in Taylors, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 1986, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary exists to equip preachers, pastors, and churchmen for Christ's Kingdom. It is not affiliated with a specific denomination. The president of the seminary is Jonathan Master, formerly the Dean of the School of Divinity at Cairn University.

The Louie James House is a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places located in Greer, South Carolina. The two-story Colonial Revival frame house on a brick basement foundation was built in 1923 for William Louis James. It was designed by the architect Henry R. Trott, from Greenville, South Carolina based architectural firm Jones and Trott.The L-shaped house features 5 chimneys and has a Roman Doric style porch with a terra cotta-tiled terrace along the entire width of the house. Interior features include Roman Doric columns, decorative mouldings, pilasters and an arched vestibule. The majority of the interior light fixtures are original to the house.

Greer Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Greer, Greenville County, South Carolina. The district encompasses 40 contributing buildings constructed from ca. 1900 to ca. 1940, with the majority constructed between 1910 and 1930 in the central business district of Greer. They are largely two-story brick commercial structures. Notable buildings include the First National Bank of Greer, Planters Savings Bank, R. L. Merchant Building, Bailey Building, Bailes-Collins Department Store, and Davenport Building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, with boundary changes approved in 2019.

Woodside Cotton Mill Village Historic District is a national historic district located in Greenville County, South Carolina. The district encompasses 278 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites in an early 20th century urban South Carolina textile mill village. Centered on a mill founded by John T. Woodside in 1902, the district is located just west of the city limits of Greenville and is largely intact despite modernizations made by a succession of mill and home owners. The mill itself is a rectangular, brick, four-story building designed by J.E. Sirrine and built between 1902 and 1912. Eventually the mill became the largest cotton mill under one roof in the United States and one of the largest in the world.The village contains 343 surviving mill houses, a cotton waste house, a mill office building, a recreation building, two churches, a baseball park, and a pasture/common garden area.The mill and mill village were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Several plans to convert the empty mill to apartments, senior housing, or artist studios have not been achieved due to lack of financing. In 2021, Woodside Mill was converted into loft-style apartments, opening as The Lofts at Woodside Mill. Photographs of the mill, village, and community can be viewed in the Greenville County Library System digital collections.

Greer Heritage Museum is a local history museum in Greer, South Carolina, near the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. The museum was founded by Carmela B. Hudson (1920-2017), a native of New Haven, Connecticut, a member of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in World War II, a graduate of Furman University, and an elementary school teacher and librarian. Hudson "built the collection from nothing, pulled together a board of directors, and established a non-profit." In 2008, the museum moved to the former Greer post office built in 1935, where its collections were displayed under the direction of another former librarian and English professor, Joada Hiatt, a native of Kentucky. After Hiatt moved from Greer and local interest in the museum had declined, the board, in 2021, chose as director, David Lovegrove, a native of Idaho and chief marketing officer for Bob Jones University. Lovegrove spearheaded a museum revitalization. The museum's exhibits include displays on Native Americans, agriculture, the textile industry, late 19th-century upper-middle-class life, and popular culture in the mid-20th century. The museum is located in the former Greer Post Office, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Colonial Revival-style post office was constructed in 1935 under the supervision of the Public Works Administration during the New Deal era and designed by New York City-based architect Donald G. Anderson, with Louis A. Simon named as supervising architect. Unlike this post office, most New Deal-era buildings were designed by in-house architects.The former post office lobby features a mural, "Cotton and Peach Growing," painted in 1940 by the obscure artist Winfield Walkley (1909–1954). Although the mural was roughly handled and covered with paneling when the post office became the Greer city hall in 1968, the paneling was removed in 2008 following acquisition of the property by the museum. The mural is one of 13 commissioned between 1938 and 1941 by the US Department of Treasury's Section of Fine Arts for South Carolina federal buildings and post offices. In 1964, the building was sold to the city of Greer for use as a city hall.

The Robert G. Turner House is located in Greer, South Carolina. The Colonial Revival style brick veneered house was designed by the prominent Greenville, South Carolina-based architect William Riddle Ward for Robert Gibbs Turner and Turner's wife, Mary. Ward also designed the one-story brick veneered garage to match the house.

The R. Perry Turner House is located in Greer, South Carolina. The Classical Revival style house was built in 1937 for prominent local businessman Richard Perry Turner. The house was designed by Greenville-based architect William Riddle Ward, commissioned after Turner saw the house designed by Ward for his younger brother, Robert Gibbs Turner.The brick house on a poured concrete foundation is almost 10,000 square feet in size. A brick garage, stable and octagonal brick summer house in the backyard were also designed by Ward for the property.

The Davenport House is a Tudor Revival house built in 1921 in Greer, South Carolina The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Greer Depot is a former railroad depot listed on the National Register of Historic Places and located in Greer, South Carolina. The combination passenger station and freight warehouse was designed by the Charlotte, North Carolina-based architect, Charles Christian Hook, and constructed in 1913 for the Piedmont and Northern Railway. The depot was designed as a combination passenger station and freight warehouse for the Piedmont & Northern Railway and later used by Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, before facing potential demolition in 1983. It is the last surviving of the original 5 two-story depots built for the railway.The building has a yellow brick exterior on a wider red brick base. The hip roof is covered in red clay tile supported by a wood truss and timber plank system. The second story room of the depot served as Greer City Council Chambers from 1913 to 1937 and then served as a city record storage room until the 1950s. The depot, which had been boarded up and unused from the early 1970s until 1983, was saved from the wrecking ball by Greenville County Redevelopment Authority in 1984 before being sold to Station One Partnership in 1987. It was redeveloped and subdivided to create retail and commercial spaces from 1987 to 2020. The building was sold to Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation (WCRS) subsidiary Letchworth Properties, LLC, in 2017. Redesignated as "Historic Greer Depot" in 2017, the building now serves as the General and Administrative offices of WCRS and its subsidiaries, hosts a boutique beer and wine store, as well as the Historic Greer Depot Event Venue & Meeting Space within the former warehouse space, following the August 2021 completion of a historic renovation of the entire structure. The indoor event space consists of a 3,700 sq. ft. main room, including modern ADA-accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen. In addition, a 900 sq. ft. outdoor rose garden space was added a part of the 2020-2021 renovation. The Rose Garden was dedicated as the "Marlene Faye Holdsworth Hawkins Historic Greer Depot Memorial Rose Garden" on January 9, 2020. The former warehouse space was dedicated as the "Rudolph M. Hawkins Historic Greer Depot Event Venue & Meeting Space" on October 15, 2021. The latter dedication was timed to coincide 108 years to the day of the first Piedmont and Northern passenger train departing Greer Depot on October 15, 1913.
