Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary

Southern Bleachery and Print Works is a historic factory building in Taylors, Greenville County, South Carolina. Founded by former Furman University English professor Bennette Geer (who was operating under the aegis of James Buchanan Duke), and built by the J. E. Sirrine Company of Greenville, the mill operated between 1924 and 1965, with the last historic structure being built in 1952. The property consists of 15 contributing resources, including a main building, warehouses, a smokestack, a detached boiler room with smokestack, a filtration plant, and two ponds. The bleachery acquired unfinished goods produced by other textile mills and converted them by bleaching, dyeing, and finishing into material used to manufacture clothing and other items. A small mill village, including Baptist and Methodist churches, was established nearby, and many mill houses continued to exist into the 21st century.There are about 827,000 square feet of interior space, and although after closure of the mill in 1965, a few businesses operated from the facility, no major company ever again used its "cavernous halls." In 2015, the main portion of the structure was purchased by Taylors Mill Development, LLP, and space was leased to artists and craftsmen as well as to a restaurant, a brewery, and a bar. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The French Bilingual School of South Carolina (French: École Française Bilingue - South Carolina, EFB) was an overseas French school in Greenville, South Carolina in unincorporated Greenville County, South Carolina, in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. The school served Kindergarten through the 12th grade and used the curriculum of the French Ministry of Education. The elementary section included grades K-5, the middle section included grades 6-9, and the high school section included grades 10-12. Michelin opened and operated the school for its employees expatriated to South Carolina. For that reason its official name was the Michelin French School. French expatriate families who did not work for Michelin were required to pay tuition.

Gilreath's Mill (at times also known as Heller's Mill, Bruce's Mill, and Taylor's Mill) is located on South Carolina Highway 101, near the town of Greer, South Carolina. The 2+1⁄2-story mill which sits on stone pillars was likely built ca1814, however, records can only confirm its existence as far back as 1839. It is one of the few remaining original mills that once provided staple foods and provided a place for rural residents to congregate.The building, built by Joel Bruce, includes two gable-roof sheds that were added to the north end of the original building. The water wheel, which powered the mill, is located to the southwest of the building. The mill produced both cornmeal as well as flour.

Hidden Treasure Christian School is a private Christian school for special needs children in Taylors, South Carolina, and was probably the first evangelical Christian school in the United States founded to educate both physically and mentally disabled children. The school is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools.

The Louie James House is a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places located in Greer, South Carolina. The two-story Colonial Revival frame house on a brick basement foundation was built in 1923 for William Louis James. It was designed by the architect Henry R. Trott, from Greenville, South Carolina based architectural firm Jones and Trott.The L-shaped house features 5 chimneys and has a Roman Doric style porch with a terra cotta-tiled terrace along the entire width of the house. Interior features include Roman Doric columns, decorative mouldings, pilasters and an arched vestibule. The majority of the interior light fixtures are original to the house.

Geneva Reformed Seminary is a small theological school in Greenville, South Carolina, accredited by the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries and supported by the Free Presbyterian Church of North America. The seminary offers B.D. and M.Div. degrees. Initially called Whitefield College of the Bible after a companion school in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, the seminary was renamed in 2002 to avoid confusion in the United States where Bible schools and seminaries prepare students at different academic levels. Faith Free Presbyterian Church of Greenville, South Carolina, the first constituted congregation of the Free Presbyterian Church in the United States (1977), had from its inception a vision of becoming the progenitor of other Free Presbyterian churches in North America. In 1982, Alan Cairns, an Ulsterman and the first pastor of the Greenville church, was commissioned by the Free Presbyterian Church to become the first professor of the new theological school, with teachers from Northern Ireland assisting on an adjunct basis. Training was limited to men preparing for the ministry of the Free Presbyterian Church. Both the Church and its seminary acknowledge the Westminster Confession of Faith and its exposition of Reformed theology, which they believe to be taught by the Bible. Nevertheless, they modify the Westminster Standards by permitting liberty of conscience regarding baptism and eschatology. In an advertising brochure published in 2008, the seminary declared its intent "to avoid the lamentable abuses" of covenant theology by pursuing "a strongly fervent evangelistic mission....[a] biblical, fundamental, separatist, evangelistic, and Reformed ministry." Ian Paisley, the former moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster, had a long-standing relationship with Bob Jones University, also located in Greenville, and by February 2007, every GRS faculty member was both a graduate of Bob Jones University and a minister or licentiate minister of the Free Presbyterian Church. In 2001 the Presbytery Commission appointed Michael Barrett, who had earned a Ph.D. in theology from BJU, as president. Admission to the seminary was thereafter opened to members of other denominations. In May 2008, the presbytery approved a certificate program for laypersons, some evening classes, and the introduction of online courses, and by the fall of 2010, eighteen courses were available for online credit or audit.GRS therefore represents a Calvinistic branch of separatist fundamentalism in the United States, in contradistinction to Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, another conservative Presbyterian institution just a few miles away.
