Torpoint

Torpoint Community College (often referred to as 'TCC') is a secondary school in south-east Cornwall, England. It educates 775 students aged 11 to 18. It started life as a 'secondary modern' school before becoming a comprehensive in the 1960s. Traditionally students lived exclusively in the Torpoint and Rame Peninsula, more recently they have been joined by a number of students travelling from Plymouth via the ferry over the River Tamar. The school's most notable former pupils include Sheryll Murray, Conservative Member of Parliament for South East Cornwall & Jack Stephens (footballer) TCC's Sixth Form was opened in the late 1990s (prior to which pupils left school at 16 with some continuing their educations elsewhere) and offers a wide range of AS and A Level subjects for post-16 students.

Torpoint Athletic Football Club is a football club based in Torpoint, Cornwall, England. They are currently members of the Western League Premier Division and play at the Mill.

Wilcove is a small coastal village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated one mile (1.6 km) north of Torpoint and one mile (1.6 km) west of Devonport (part of the city of Plymouth) across the Hamoaze, the tidal estuary of the River Tamar.Wilcove is in the civil parish of Antony.Wilcove has an active community association, a village hall and a riverside pub. The Carew-Pole family, of Antony House, have a long association with the village. Traditionally the village had a strong agricultural sector, with two farms - Whitehall Farm and Home Farm - employing many people from the village. Post-war Bullock Diamond Factory - later Select Gauges - was located in Wilcove. The village also enjoyed a long connection with the Royal Navy: HMS Defiance, a small naval base, was located in the village until the 1950s; HMS Valiant, a large pumping ship, was moored off Wilcove between the wars. The South-East part of the village houses the Thanckes oil depot, which is run by the Ministry of Defence.

The Torpoint Ferry is a car and pedestrian chain ferry connecting the A374 which crosses the Hamoaze, a stretch of water at the mouth of the River Tamar, between Devonport in Plymouth and Torpoint in Cornwall. The service was established in 1791 and chain ferry operations were introduced by James Meadows Rendel in 1832.

Maryfield is a hamlet north of Torpoint and east of Antony House in southeast Cornwall, England.

HMS Raleigh is a stone frigate (shore establishment), serving as the basic training facility of the Royal Navy at Torpoint, Cornwall, United Kingdom. It is spread over several square miles, and has damage control simulators and fire-fighting training facilities, as well as a permanently moored training ship, the former HMS Brecon. Its principal function is the delivery of both New Entry Training and Basic Training.

The Hamoaze (; Cornish pronunciation: [ˈhɒmøz]) is an estuarine stretch of the English tidal River Tamar, between its confluence with the River Lynher and Plymouth Sound.

HMS Courageous (S50) is a decommissioned Churchill-class nuclear fleet submarine in service with the Royal Navy from 1971. She is now a museum ship managed by the Devonport Naval Heritage Centre. In 2021, plans to set up a Cold War Centre around Courageous entered their first phase of implementation, supported by the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

Devonport Naval Heritage Centre, formerly known as the Plymouth Naval Base Museum is a maritime museum in Plymouth, Devon. It is housed in a number of historic buildings within the South Yard of HM Naval Base, Devonport (one of the three main bases of the Royal Navy). Its mission statement is "To present the story of support to the Royal Navy at Plymouth since the days of Edward I."
