It serves the northern Central Coast suburb of Ourimbah opening on 15 August 1887. The station had passing loops and a freight yard that were removed in March 1993.The station was upgraded with lifts added in August 2021.

Ourimbah is located approximately halfway between Sydney and Newcastle. The township today consists of small scattered local shops and businesses along the Pacific Highway, as well as the Central Coast campus of the University of Newcastle. Ourimbah had a population of 3,951 at the 2016 census.

It is the sole aerodrome in Somersby, and does not serve scheduled commercial traffic. The airfield is operated by Somersby Airfield Pty Ltd.

The Ourimbah Campus (also referred to as the Central Coast Campus) is a multi-sector campus which offers University, TAFE and Community College programs and courses. The Ourimbah campus is a partnership of The University of Newcastle and Hunter Institute of TAFE. Affiliates are the Central Coast Community College and the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music. Ourimbah Campus is located in Ourimbah, New South Wales, just between Newcastle and Sydney. It is a bushland campus, offering a quiet environment for students and visitors, set on just over 80 hectares. The building program began in the 1990s, and has continued as the campus has expanded, but all of the buildings have been designed to blend with the natural environment. The Ourimbah Campus of Newcastle University was officially opened on Friday 1 September 1995 by The Hon. Bill Hayden, Governor General.Ourimbah Campus lies just off the F3 Freeway at Ourimbah on Chittaway and Brush roads. From the F3 Freeway take the Ourimbah exit, which intersects with the Pacific Highway, and follow the signs to the campus. The campus is within ten minutes walking distance of the Ourimbah train station and local buses drive right into the Campus until 5 pm.

Niagara Park is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of Gosford's central business district. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. It consists of residential housing as well as acreage blocks and small farms with many houses backing onto natural bushland and reserves. It is close to the M1 and is 20 minutes from Shelly Beach. A peaceful community with rural aspects and a large technology driven primary school, Niagara Park is ideal for families with young children. The suburb contains Niagara Park railway station, which is on the Main North railway line. A shopping centre, timber mill, primary school, and sports centre are also located within Niagara Park.

Somersby is a semi-rural locality of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, to the northwest of Gosford along the Pacific Highway. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. Somersby includes sections of the Brisbane Water National Park, within which Somersby Falls are located, as well as the Mount Penang Parklands which are used as a festival and exhibition centre. The Woolshed Function Centre, Australian Reptile Park, a small industrial area near the Kariong Interchange, two juvenile justice centres, and a primary school are features of Somersby. Old Sydney Town, now defunct, was a popular tourist destination in Somersby.

Lisarow railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the northern Central Coast suburb of Lisarow opening on 31 August 1892 as Jenkins Siding. On 1 February 1902 it was renamed Wyoming and again on 2 April 1902 as Lisarow.The station was upgraded in November 2021, with lifts added.

Lisarow () is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-northeast of Gosford's central business district via the Pacific Highway. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. The area was largely rural until urban encroachment in more recent decades. It is now a mainly residential area, composed of medium-density housing, with small rural properties on the fringes. There is also a substantial amount of industrial activity around the railway line and station. Educational facilities in the suburb include Lisarow High School, Lisarow Primary School and Narara Public School. The Test cricketer, Alan Davidson, hails from the town. Lisarow shares the largest cricket club on the Central Coast with Ourimbah, their club mascot is the magpie.
