Henry Longfellow School was a historic school building located in the Bridesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Henry deCourcy Richards and built in 1915. It was a three-story, six-bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Classical Revival style. It featured a stone cornice and beltcourse and a brick parapet. The school was named for poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.Demolition of the school commenced on August 17, 2015, in conjunction with the plans to rebuild and widen Interstate 95 as part of the ongoing reconstruction of the Interstate in Northeast Philadelphia.

Bridesburg station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located at Bridge Street and Harbison Avenue in the Bridesburg neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, it serves the Trenton Line. The station is in zone 2 on the SEPTA Trenton Line, on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, and is 10.2 track miles from Suburban Station. In 2005, this station saw 162 boardings on an average weekday.[1] Amtrak does not stop at this station.

Bridesburg is the northernmost neighborhood in the River Wards section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Bridesburg is an historically German and Irish community, with a significant community of Polish immigrants who arrived mostly in the early- to mid-twentieth century. The community is home to two Catholic churches: All Saints Church, designed by Edwin Forrest Durang, built in 1889; and Saint John Cantius Church, built some time after 1892 in Polish Cathedral style.

Bridesburg School, also known as Irving School, is a historic school in the Bridesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the third-oldest surviving school building in Philadelphia, after the Mifflin School, and the much altered Penn Township School. The two-story building was built by Henry Funk in 1847–48 with five classrooms. In 1866, three classrooms were added by builder Charles Fay. In 1888 it was replaced by the new Bridesburg School, and then sold in 1894. It is currently used as a warehouse.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Warren G. Harding Middle School is a historic middle school located in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. It was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1923 to 1925 at a cost of just over $1 million. It is a three-story, 17-bay-wide and 12-bay-deep, brick-and-limestone building in the Colonial Revival style. It features a projecting center entrance pavilion with arched openings, stone cornice, and balustraded parapet. The school was named for President Warren G. Harding. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

James J. Sullivan School is a historic elementary school located in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1929–1930. It is a three-story, eight-bay, yellow brick building on a raised basement in the Art Deco style. It features an arched entryway with terra cotta trim and pilasters, a terra cotta cornice, and brick parapet.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, Philadelphia, is located in Northeast Philadelphia in Bridesburg and serves the local Polish-speaking population in the area. It is located at 4415 Almond Street.The chapel is next to the church on Thompson Street. Sunday Masses are celebrated in the chapel from June to September. Daily Masses are also celebrated in the chapel. All Saints Parish and St. John Cantius Parish merged to become a new parish at the site of St. John Cantius, with All Saints Church remaining “a worship site for the time being,” according to a statement by the archdiocese.

Mastery Charter School - Smedley Elementary is a charter school located in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally called Franklin Smedley School, the school has been run by Mastery Charter Schools since 2010. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1927–1928. It is a three-story, nine-bay, yellow brick building on a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival style. It features a projecting stone entryway with Tudor-arched opening, stone openings, and a crenellated parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Wissinoming was a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, it was served by Trenton Line commuter trains. It was located off Comly Street in the neighborhood of Wissinoming. SEPTA discontinued service to Wissinoming on November 9, 2003, citing low ridership; 25 people were boarding at the station every day. SEPTA had previously attempted to close the station in 1994, but a strong response from the Wissinoming Civic Association won the station a reprieve.

The David Wilmot Public School For Coloured Children, also known as the J.C. King Educational Building, is located the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built in 1874, it is a two-story, four bay, stone building in the Italianate-design presumably of Lewis H. Esler (1819-1883), a prominent architect employed by the Philadelphia Board of Public Education. An addition was built in 1908. It features brownstone sills and arches and a gable over the entrance opening. It was named for U.S. political figure and abolitionist, David Wilmot (1814–1868). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Frankford is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Philadelphia situated about six miles (10 km) northeast of Center City. Although its borders are vaguely defined, the neighborhood is bounded roughly by the original course of Frankford Creek on the south to Castor Avenue on the southwest, to Cheltenham Avenue on the north to Torresdale Avenue on the east. Adjacent neighborhoods are Bridesburg, Kensington, Juniata, Oxford Circle, Summerdale, and Wissinoming. Historically, Frankford had an unofficial division separating Frankford (proper) from East Frankford encompassing the area east of Frankford Avenue. The division divided the community first along racial lines, with African Americans on the east of Frankford Avenue and Caucasians to the west. As the community has become less homogeneous, the division is more of a vestige of the past. In 2005, the 19124 ZIP code, which roughly contains Frankford and Juniata, had a median home sale price of $81,075, an increase of 22% over 2004.

Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop, formerly named Chink's Steaks, is a cheesesteak restaurant founded in 1949 in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Controversy over the restaurant's former name led to the owner renaming it. A second restaurant location opened in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia in 2015. In addition to its cheesesteak sandwich specialty, the company sells other types of sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, and other foods.
