The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows is a hotel in San Diego, California, United States that opened July 1, 1946. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 31, 2012.The Lafayette's original name was Imig Manor, owned by local entrepreneur Larry Imig. The Lafayette was originally built at a cost of $2 million on El Cajon Boulevard. When Imig Manor opened in 1946, its first guest was Bob Hope; other celebrities followed. “The buildings and the pool are steeped in the history of Hollywood’s heyday, the 1940s and ’50s,” according to the developer.By 1960, Interstate 8 replaced El Cajon Boulevard as the main east-west connector of San Diego, and hotel operations ceased due to the loss of through traffic on El Cajon Boulevard. The building was passed through several owners, until Hampstead Lafayette Partners purchased 2.6 acres (11,000 m2) in North Park, including the Lafayette Hotel, for $11.5 million in March 2004. Hampstead Partners is restoring the Lafayette as a boutique hotel. In 2010 a year-long, $4 million facelift was announced, aided by a $2.4 million loan from the city's Redevelopment Agency. District 3 City Councilmember Todd Gloria called the revitalization a return to the hotel's “glamour and opulence.”The hotel has a swimming pool designed by Johnny Weissmuller, a ballroom, and 131 guest suites, each named for a great name in film history.

The Linkery was a farm-to-table restaurant in North Park, San Diego, California that specialized in natural meat, local food, fine wines, craft beer, and cask ale. The restaurant's name referred to its daily-changing offerings of house-made sausages.The Linkery was founded in 2005 by Jay Porter, a former engineer and consultant for consumer electronics companies with no prior restaurant experience. Porter was responsible for the restaurant's strict fixed-tipping policy, which angered other nearby establishments.The Linkery's philosophy was based in part on the premise that "eating is an agricultural act," proposed by Wendell Berry in The Pleasures of Eating.As of July 15, 2013, The Linkery closed and the location was re-sold to another company.

Shirley Ann Place is a one-block-long street in the University Heights neighborhood of San Diego, California. The block, between Madison Ave. and Monroe Ave. and west of Texas Street, was designated the Shirley Ann Place Historic District by the City of San Diego for its 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival bungalows.The district also includes three properties similar in style and that were part of the original development: two additional bungalows on the south side of Monroe Avenue near a small local grocery store at the SE corner of Madison Ave. and Shirley Ann Pl.

The North Park Dryden Historic District is a historic district in North Park, San Diego, 92104 along both 28th and Pershing Streets, bordered to the north by Landis Street and to the south by Upas Street. The community is a neighbourhood of early twentieth century American Craftsman Bungalows as well as Spanish Colonial Revival homes and California Bungalows built in the 1920s and 1930s. It features a high concentration of homes designed and built by the renowned Arts and Crafts era architect/builder David Owen Dryden. On 23 June 2011, the San Diego Historical Resources Board (HRB) approved the establishment of the North Park Dryden Historic District. Of the 136 homes in the District, 100 were deemed of historic value. As well as recognising the community's contribution to the City's heritage fabric, the HRB also honoured the work of builder Edward F Bryans - including 15 of the homes in the District - with the designation of Master Builder.

The Georgia Street Bridge in San Diego, California was constructed in 1907 to carry traffic, after a streetcar line was cut through a ridge where Georgia Street stood. In 1914, a Romanesque Spandrel Arch with Mission Revival styling made of reinforced concrete and designed by J.R. Comly was built there. It was designed to complement the Panama-California Exposition at nearby Balboa Park. Between 1914 and 1948, the San Diego Electric Railway's East San Diego Trolley Line traveled under the bridge along University Avenue. Upon application by the University Heights Historical Society, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.The bridge was restored in 2016, uncovering several artefacts including old trolley tracks and an old spoon.
