Broughton is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. The village is on the A59 road approximately 3 miles (5 km) west of Skipton. The 2001 Census recorded a parish population of 81 increasing to 172 at the 2011 Census.

All Saints' Church is the parish church of Broughton, Craven, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. No church in Broughton is recorded in the Domesday Book, the first reference to one being in 1120. The oldest part of the church is part of the south wall including the main doorway, which is 12th century. The rest of the church was rebuilt, probably in the early 16th century. In 1873, William Henry Crossland heavily restored the chancel, and rebuilt the roof of the nave. The church was Grade I listed in 1954. Alan Bennett described a visit to the church: "We sit outside listening to the wind streaming through a huge copper beech and talk about this ordinary enough church which has been bound up with great events in the nation's history." The grass in the churchyard is kept down by a small flock of sheep. The church is described as "rather cold in winter". The church is built of stone, with a stone slate roof. It consists of a nave and a chancel under a continuous roof, a north aisle, a south porch and a west tower, and is in Perpendicular style. The tower has angle buttresses, arched bell openings, gargoyles, and an embattled parapet with corner pinnacles. The south doorway has one order of waterleaf capitals and the shafts lost. In the south wall of the chancel is a round-headed priest's door, and the east window has three cusped traceried lights. Inside are two alabaster sculptures of the Virgin Mary, found during the Victorian restoration; various monuments to the Tempest family; and a 12th-century font.

Elslack railway station once served the small village of Elslack in North Yorkshire, England. The station was built by the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway in 1848. It merged in to the Midland Railway in 1851 though some services were operated by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. The station was closed in 1952.

Gargrave is a railway station on the Bentham Line, which runs between Leeds and Morecambe via Skipton. The station, situated 30 miles (48 km) north-west of Leeds, serves the village of Gargrave in North Yorkshire. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

The Moor Music Festival was an annual music festival held initially on a farm in Addingham Moorside, near the town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire. For the 2009 and 2010 festivals, the setting was moved to Heslaker Farm near to Skipton in North Yorkshire.The festival had artists playing from the local area and beyond, many being prominent artists in the New Yorkshire music scene. In 2006, bands appearing included The Lodger, Monkey Swallows the Universe, Black Wire, Middleman and iLIKETRAiNS. 2007 saw new additions such as the electronic music tent The Twisted Ballroom hosted by Leeds collective Gonzo and a dub, jungle and dubstep tent called The Trench run by Leeds soundsystem High Pressure. The event was free from corporate sponsorship and promoted green action and other environmental causes, with stalls at the event on trade justice, climate change, third world development and other social issues.The 2011 event was relabeled as the Beacons Festival, but was cancelled due to adverse weather on the first day of the event. Thereafter, the event moved away from Skipton and was held on various days across the North of England.

Eshton is a small village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. At the 2011 Census the population was less than 100 and is included in the civil parish of Flasby with Winterburn. In 2015, North Yorkshire County Council estimated the population to be 70. It is in the Yorkshire Dales and about 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Grassington. Eshton Hall is a large grade II* listed country house, built in 1825–7 by architect George Webster of Kendal in an Elizabethan revival style for Matthew Wilson. Eston Hall was inherited by Frances Mary Richardson Currer who held a large library.The hall was converted into apartments between 2003 and 2005.

St Andrew's Church is the parish church of Gargrave, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The church was probably originally built in the 16th century, from which period the tower survives. In 1674, the vicar demolished the large rood screen, which doubled as an organ loft. Unfortunately, the screen also played a structural role, and the action caused part of the roof to collapse, and the south aisle to become unusable. It was repaired, but the bulk of the building was later demolished and rebuilt in 1852 by Rhode Hawkins, in the Perpendicular style. It was grade II listed in 1954. The church is built of sandstone, yellowish in the tower, and red elsewhere, the aisle and tower have lead roofs, and the roofs elsewhere are in green slate. The church consists of a nave with a clerestory, north and south aisles, north and south porches, a chancel, and a west tower. The tower has diagonal buttresses, a three-light west window, above which is a niche, three-light bell openings, and an embattled parapet with eight crocketed pinnacles. Seven windows in the chancel have stained glass by Jean-Baptiste Capronnier.

Elslack is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England, close to the border with Lancashire and 4 miles west of Skipton. Thornton in Craven is nearby. The Tempest Arms is a large pub in the village, sited by the A56, which is popular with locals from the surrounding area. Elslack Moor, above the village, is crossed by the Pennine Way, though this does not visit the village itself.

Stirton with Thorlby is a civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. The parish includes the settlements of Stirton and Thorlby. The population at the 2011 census was 204, an increase on the 2001 census figure of 173.

Gargrave is a large village and civil parish in the Craven district located along the A65, 4 miles (6 km) north-west of Skipton in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the very edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal pass through the village. It had a population of 1,764 in 2001 reducing slightly to 1,755 at the 2011 census.

Trappes Hall is a historic building in Carleton-in-Craven, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The house was built in about 1686 by Christopher Trappes, when he married into a local family. It passed down the generations until one owner was involved in the Jacobite rebellions, forfeiting the property to the Crown. Its later history is unknown, but it was divided into two cottages, probably in the 19th century. It was Grade II* listed in 1954. The house is built of stone, with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and a large attic, and a nearly square plan. It contains two large mullioned and transomed windows, and smaller mullioned windows, and in the attics are large gabled dormers. It appears that there was originally a central doorway on the north side, but this was blocked when the house was divided, and there are now three 19th century doors, one to the north and two to the south. There is a large, central chimney, with fireplaces in both the former main room and parlour.

Carleton Mill is a historic building in Carleton-in-Craven, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. William and John Slingsby leased a mill in Bell Busk in 1841. It proved successful, and in 1849 they were able to construct a small mill in Carleton. In 1861, they built a larger mill in the village, to work cotton. Ownership passed to their sons, Cecil and John Arthur, but the two had a poor working relationship, and in 1930 the business failed. The mill was purchased by the Fattorini family, which used it to run a mail order business. In 1941, it was purchased by the Rover Company, which used it to manufacture aircraft components. The Aspinall family took it over in 1947, to manufacture carpets, then in 1980 Gaskell PLC took it over, continuing to make carpets. It closed in 1999, and in 2003 was converted into 57 flats and houses by Novo Homes and Peter Harrison Architects. It has been Grade II listed since 1988. The mill is built of stone with lintel bands, a dentilled cornice, a slate roof, and three storeys. The doorway is round-headed with a rusticated surround, and the windows have plain surrounds. At the east end is a tower with two cornices, pilaster strips and a parapet. The top storey contains elliptical-headed windows in architraves, and above is a truncated pyramidal roof with railings. At the west end is a tall octagonal chimney. In the centre of the mill is an open air atrium, with a water feature and glass-fronted lift.
