St Hilda's School is an independent, Anglican, day and boarding school for girls, located in Southport, a central suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Established in 1912, St Hilda's has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for approximately 1,250 students from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12, including 160 full and weekly boarders from Years 6 to 12. St Hilda's is the only girls' school in the Gold Coast region. Its brother school is The Southport School (TSS), also located in Southport, and the only boys' boarding school in the region.The school is a member of the Queensland Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA), the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australia (AGSA), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), and the Australian Boarding Schools' Association.

The Southport Leagues Club is a rugby league club based in Southport, Queensland, Australia. The primary charter of SLCL is the promotion of Rugby league within the Gold Coast community and the operation of a profitable sporting club that reinvests in Rugby League and the local community.

It houses courtrooms and chambers for part of the District Court of Queensland, which has jurisdiction to hear criminal offences with penalties of less than 20 years imprisonment, some criminal offences with penalties of over 20 years imprisonment, and civil matters up to A$750,000. It is located in the Southport legal district on the corner of Davenport and Hinze Street. A subsidiary Magistrates' Court of Queensland is located at Coolangatta. The building was designed by ABM Architects. When completed the building housed five district courts, nine magistrates courts, a central registry, accommodation for 13 magistrates, six judges, and a watchhouse which contains cells for 68 detainees.

Southport Town Hall is a heritage-listed former town hall at Nerang Street, Southport, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Hall & Phillips and built in 1935 by H Cheetham. It is also known as Gold Coast City Hall, Gold Coast Town Hall, and South Coast Town Hall. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 5 October 1998.

Gold Coast Hospital, located at 98–136 Nerang Street, Southport was, from 1960 to 2013 a major teaching and referral hospital and the third largest in Queensland. The Gold Coast Hospital had one of the busiest emergency departments in the state. The Hospital admitted over 60,000 patients annually. It was replaced by the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Southport light rail station is a major public transport interchange in the Gold Coast suburb of Southport, the Gold Coast's CBD. The Southport light rail station and the Southport bus station (located adjacent to light rail station) provide an important bus - light rail interchange for the Gold Coast Central Business District. The station opened in July 2014 with the introduction of the light rail system known as the G:link.Translink provides a integrated public transport network for the whole of South East Queensland. Surfside buslines under contract from Translink provides high frequency and suburban bus services from the Southport bus station. Buses provide connections to the surrounding suburbs. The light rail service, known as G:link runs from Broadbeach South to Helensvale via the key activity precinct Surfers Paradise.

Southport Transit Centre is on Scarborough Street in Southport, Queensland, Australia. Opened on 29 November 2000 by the Hon. Steve Bredhauer MP, the $6 million Southport Transit Centre Project was a joint partnership between Queensland Transport and the Southport Workers’ Club. It provides services for private and charter coaches on interstate and intrastate routes.
