Mulberry School for Girls (formerly known as Tower Hamlets School for Girls) is a secondary school and sixth form for girls located in the Shadwell area of the East End of London, England. Approximately 1400 students aged between 11 and 19 years attend Mulberry school. The current headteacher is Ms Alice Ward who joined Mulberry in 2008. Mulberry School for Girls is the lead school in the Mulberry Schools Trust. In 2006 Mulberry school was designated a specialist school for the Arts in English, Media and the Expressive Arts. In 2015, Mulberry School was visited by the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, who launched her campaign Let Girls Learn and gave a speech to the girls at Mulberry School.

The East London Central Synagogue is an Ashkenazi purpose-built synagogue (shul) on Nelson Street in London's East End, the area immediately to the east of the City of London. When founded in 1923, its name was the Nelson Street Sfardish Synagogue. It has "an unassuming exterior and a stunningly beautiful interior".

Madani Girls School is an Islamic independent secondary school in Whitechapel, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, East London. It also operates a college and Alimah programme. The school opened in September 1991.

The Blizard Building is a building in Whitechapel in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It houses the Blizard Institute, formerly known as the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, part of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The building is named after William Blizard, who founded the London Hospital Medical College in 1785.

Commercial Road is a street in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the East End of London. It is 1.9 miles (3.1 km) long, running from Gardiner's Corner (previously the site of Gardiners department store, and now Aldgate East Underground station), through Stepney to the junction with Burdett Road in Limehouse at which point the route splits into the East India Dock Road and the West India Dock Road. It is an artery connecting the historic City of London with the more recently developed financial district at Canary Wharf, and part of the A13. The road contains several listed buildings. These include the George Tavern, the Troxy cinema, the Limehouse Town Hall, the former Caird and Rayner Ltd works and the Albert Gardens estate.

Cannon Street Road was a short-lived railway station in Shadwell, east London, that was on the London and Blackwall Railway (LBR) between Minories and Shadwell stations. It opened in August 1842 but was closed c. December 1848. The reasons for its closure are unclear, but it may have been due to low patronage combined with its close proximity to other stations. In 1877 a new LBR station called Leman Street was opened slightly to the west of the Cannon Street Road site.

The Wycliffe Chapel was a Congregational Chapel at 44 Philpot Street, London. It came there from Cannon Street Road and traced its roots to one of the early Independent congregations which met from 1642 at Haydon's Yard, Minories, and then in Smithfield.

The Church of St Augustine with St Philip in Newark Street, London E1 2AD, is a Grade II* listed former Victorian church redesigned for use as the Medical Library for Queen Mary University of London. It is also known as the Whitechapel Library.

The Cable Street Mural is a large mural painting in Shadwell in East London. It was painted on the side of St George's Town Hall by Dave Binnington, Paul Butler, Ray Walker and Desmond Rochfort between 1979 and 1983 to commemorate the Battle of Cable Street in 1936. The original design was by Dave Binnington.

Whitechapel Mount was a large artificial mound of disputed origin. A prominent landmark in 18th century London, it stood in the Whitechapel Road beside the newly constructed London Hospital, being not only older, but significantly taller. It was crossed by tracks, served as a scenic viewing-point (and a hiding place for stolen goods), could be ascended by horses and carts, and supported some trees and formal dwelling-houses. It has been interpreted as: a defensive fortification in the English Civil War; a burial place for victims of the Great Plague; rubble from the Great Fire of London; and as a laystall (hence it was sometimes called Whitechapel Dunghill). Possibly all of these theories are true to some extent. Whitechapel Mount was physically removed around 1807. Because Londoners widely believed in the "Great Fire rubble" theory, the remains were sifted by antique hunters, and some sensational finds were claimed. It survives in its present-day placename Mount Terrace, E1.

The London Action Resource Centre (LARC) is an anarchist infoshop and self-managed social centre situated in Whitechapel, in the East End of London. Previously a school and a synagogue, it was purchased in 1999. It hosts meetings and events from various groups and is part of the UK Social Centre Network.

St George's Town Hall, formerly known as Stepney Town Hall, and, before that, St George's Vestry Hall, is a municipal building on Cable Street, Stepney, London. It is a Grade II listed building.
