Abraham (or Abram or Abe) Van Santvoord Curry (February 19, 1815 October 19, 1873) is considered the founding father of Carson City, Nevada. A native of the state of New York, he traveled to the West Coast during the California Gold Rush and settled in Nevada's Eagle Valley, where Carson City was established.Curry served as an assemblyman of the Nevada Territorial Legislature from 1862 to 1863 and was a territorial senator from 1863 to 1864. He was also the first superintendent of the Carson City Mint and the first warden of Nevada State Prison. Curry donated 10 acres (4.0 ha) of land for the site of the Nevada State Capitol, for which the state prison quarry provided the stone for its construction.Curry spent the final years of his life building facilities for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad in Carson City. Though he had achieved prominence in Nevada, his wife claimed that he had only one dollar in his pocket when he died in 1873.

The Abraham Curry House, at 406 N. Nevada St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built c. 1871. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It is a one-story masonry building that was home for Carson City founder Abraham Curry (d. 1873), who was first Superintendent of the United States Mint in Carson City.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is a large historic Carpenter Gothic Episcopal church building located at the corner of Division and Telegraph streets in Carson City, Nevada. Built in 1868, it is the oldest Episcopal church still in use in Nevada. On January 3, 1978, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Lew M. Meder House, at 308 N. Nevada St. in Carson City, Nevada, United States, is a historic house with Late Victorian architecture that was built in 1876. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.Measured drawings of the house were prepared by the Historic American Buildings Survey. Its NRHP nomination suggests that its NRHP recognition would support designation of a surrounding area as a historic district.

The Carson City Mint was a branch of the United States Mint in Carson City, Nevada. It primarily minted silver coins; however, it also minted gold coins, with a total face value in dollars nearly equal to that of its silver coins. The mint minted coins in 21 different years. The Carson City Mint was created in 1863 but was not put into operation until 1870. It ran until 1885, went on a hiatus, and resumed operations in 1889, after which it ran until 1893, when it closed permanently. It is now the Nevada State Museum, Carson City.

The West Side Historic District in Carson City, Nevada, United States, is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. It includes properties within an area roughly bounded by Curry, Mountain, 5th & John Sts.

The Dat So La Lee House, which is located at 331 W. Proctor St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic house that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was a home of Dat So La Lee (ca. 1845/1855–1925), a woman who also was known as Louisa Keyser, who was a well-known Washoe Indian basket weaver. The house, also known as the Louisa Keyser House, was listed on the National Register in 1994.The house is a modest one-story board and batten cottage built by Abram Cohn, husband of Clarrise Amy Cohn, who was Louisa's promoter. At time of NRHP listing, the house was still a residence. It faces north onto West Proctor Street, but is set back about 40 feet behind a small lawn and parking area.

The Gov. James W. Nye Mansion, at 108 N. Minnesota St. in Carson City, Nevada, United States, was built in 1860. It has also been known as St. Teresa's Rectory. It was a home of U.S. senator William M. Stewart and of Nevada territory governor James W. Nye. It is a 1+1⁄2-story stone house built on a large lot. It became an unofficial Governor's Mansion after Governor Nye purchased the house in 1862.

The Belknap House, at 1206 North Nevada Street in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic house built in 1875. Also known as the Barber-Belknap House or the Beck-Barber-Belknap House, it includes Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.It is a two-story building with shiplap siding. It is significant as the home, during 1881 to 1908, of Charles Henry Belknap, who was Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court. It is significant also for association with Henry Hudson Beck, who had it built in 1870, and to Oscar T. Barber, a businessman and Nevada State Assembly representative, who owned it in between. And it is also significant as "an excellent example of a two-story Second Empire residential structure".: 7 During the Cold War, the only known privately built atomic fallout shelter in Carson City was added to the property.

The Olcovich–Meyers House, at 214 W. King St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic, well-preserved house that was built during 1874–75 with Late Victorian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. The listing included two contributing buildings.It is reportedly one of few surviving houses in Carson City that have "Gothic-influenced" architecture. The house also shows Italianate and Eastlake stylistic elements. It was built by Joseph Olcovich for his brother Bernard. Victorian details were probably added in the late 1880s, by George Meyers, who then owned it.
