Moana Stadium was a stadium in Reno, Nevada. It was primarily used for baseball. Teams that called the stadium home included the Reno Silver Sox, the Reno Blackjacks, Reno Padres and Reno Chukars. The ballpark had a capacity of 4,000 people. Moana Stadium was part of a city sports park. The stadium was demolished in 2012 to make room for a new city pool and athletic fields on the site.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Building in Reno, Nevada, located at 255 VFW Historic Ln, is a historic building that was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The building was a combined work of VFW Post 207 (founded 1926) and VFW Post 9211 (founded 1944), and includes a "semi-subterranean hall" in Reno's Tighe Park. The 2012 national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars was held in Reno, and U.S. president Barack Obama gave a speech.

Often known simply as "Atlantis," it is one of Reno's most profitable and luxurious properties, competing directly with Peppermill Hotel Casino and Grand Sierra Resort for customers. Nearly $150 million has been spent on upgrading the facility.

The 1914 Reno earthquakes were a series of earthquakes in February and April 1914 in Reno, Nevada and the surrounding area. The 6.0 magnitude foreshock occurred on February 18, 1914, at 10:17am local time. The 6.4 magnitude main quake occurred at 12:34am local time.

The land is owned by Station Casinos and is located on 8 acres (3.2 ha) of land.The building design is similar to Aliante (formerly known as Aliante Station), Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort.

The Reno-Sparks Convention Center is a convention center in the western United States, located in Reno, Nevada. Opened 58 years ago in 1965 as Centennial Coliseum, it hosted the Big Sky Conference basketball tournament in 1983, and also hosts boxing matches. In 2021 the convention center will host the Legion Sports Fest, the largest fitness and bodybuilding event in the West. Southwest of the airport, its elevation at street level is approximately 4,450 feet (1,355 m) above sea level.

The Patrick Ranch House, at 1225 Gordon Ave. in Reno, Nevada, was built c.1901 and has been described as "a charming, turn-of-the-century, Folk Victorian home with Queen Anne attributes." It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It was deemed significant "for its role in Reno's community planning and development history" and "as an excellent example of Folk Victorian/Queen Anne style of architecture, which is becoming increasingly rare."

The Pine Middle School shooting was a school shooting that occurred in Reno, Nevada, United States, on March 14, 2006. The shooting was perpetrated by then fourteen-year-old student James Scott Newman who shot and injured two 14-year-old eighth grade classmates with a .38-caliber revolver that had belonged to his parents. Newman was arrested and charged as an adult on charges of attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon and use of a firearm by a minor but later pleaded guilty to different charges of two counts of battery with a deadly weapon, in which he had received sentencing as a juvenile. James Newman was sentenced to house arrest until he completed 200 hours of community service.On March 25, 2008, athletics teacher Jencie Fagan, who was hailed a hero for her confrontation with the shooter, was selected as one of the three national winners for the Above & Beyond Citizen Honor from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The Veterans Memorial Elementary School, also known as Veterans Memorial STEM Academy, at 1200 Locust St., is a public elementary school in Reno, Nevada, operated by the Washoe County School District. It occupies a historic Moderne-style building dating from 1949 that was designed by Nevada architect Russell Mills. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It was deemed significant "for its role in the local history of education" and "for its Art Deco/Moderne style of architecture by a prominent local architect, Russell Mills.": 5 Students zoned to Veterans Memorial are zoned to Vaughn Middle School and Earl Wooster High School.

The McCarthy–Platt House, at 1000 Plumas St. in Reno, Nevada, is a historic house that was originally built in 1900 and was redesigned in 1925 by architect Frederic J. DeLongchamps. It includes Colonial Revival architecture elements. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was deemed significant for association with its architect Frederic J. DeLongchamps, for its associations with Reno developer Charles McCarthy and Nevada attorney/politician Samuel Platt, and "as a noteworthy example" of Colonial Revival architecture in Nevada.
