Moana Stadium was a stadium in Reno, Nevada. It was primarily used for baseball. Teams that called the stadium home included the Reno Silver Sox, the Reno Blackjacks, Reno Padres and Reno Chukars. The ballpark had a capacity of 4,000 people. Moana Stadium was part of a city sports park. The stadium was demolished in 2012 to make room for a new city pool and athletic fields on the site.

The Reno-Sparks Convention Center is a convention center in the western United States, located in Reno, Nevada. Opened 58 years ago in 1965 as Centennial Coliseum, it hosted the Big Sky Conference basketball tournament in 1983, and also hosts boxing matches. In 2021 the convention center will host the Legion Sports Fest, the largest fitness and bodybuilding event in the West. Southwest of the airport, its elevation at street level is approximately 4,450 feet (1,355 m) above sea level.

Station Casino Reno is a proposed hotel and casino located at the intersection of Kietzke Lane and South Virginia Street next to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada. The land is owned by Station Casinos and is located on 8 acres (3.2 ha) of land.The building design is similar to Aliante (formerly known as Aliante Station), Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort.

The Frey Ranch, at 1140 W. Peckham Ln. near Reno, Nevada, dates from 1870, when a 240 acres (97 ha) ranch was founded. A 1 acre (0.40 ha) site of its main house, including Late Victorian architecture, survives. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999; the listing included three contributing buildings.The three historic buildings are the main ranchhouse (begun c.1870-1875), a cookhouse/bunkhouse, and a creamery/meathouse. The property was deemed significant "for its association with the development of agriculture and irrigation in the Truckee Meadows during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and for its role in Reno's famous divorce trade during the 1920s and 1930s.": 9–10  It also is important for having served the Comstock Lode area with agricultural products.In 1999 the site was located in an unincorporated area of Washoe County near Reno.

The 1914 Reno earthquakes were a series of earthquakes in February and April 1914 in Reno, Nevada and the surrounding area. The 6.0 magnitude foreshock occurred on February 18, 1914, at 10:17am local time. The 6.4 magnitude main quake occurred at 12:34am local time.

The Pine Middle School shooting was a school shooting that occurred in Reno, Nevada, United States, on March 14, 2006. The shooting was perpetrated by then fourteen-year-old student James Scott Newman who shot and injured two 14-year-old eighth grade classmates with a .38-caliber revolver that had belonged to his parents. Newman was arrested and charged as an adult on charges of attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon and use of a firearm by a minor but later pleaded guilty to different charges of two counts of battery with a deadly weapon, in which he had received sentencing as a juvenile. James Newman was sentenced to house arrest until he completed 200 hours of community service.On March 25, 2008, athletics teacher Jencie Fagan, who was hailed a hero for her confrontation with the shooter, was selected as one of the three national winners for the Above & Beyond Citizen Honor from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Meadowood Mall contains 125 retailers and restaurants and it is anchored by Macy's Women, Macy's Men/Home, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods.

The Landrum's Hamburger System No. 1, at 1300 S. Virginia St. in Reno, Nevada, USA, was built in 1947. It was a Moderne style building that has also been known as Chili Cheez Cafe. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Yelp has indicated that this location has closed.

Earl Wooster High School , or Wooster High School (WHS), is a public secondary school in Reno, Nevada that is a part of the Washoe County School District. Its mascot is the Colt and the school colors are scarlet, white, and silver. As of the 2010 school year, Wooster was ranked 177th on Newsweek magazine's list of the 1500 best U.S. high schools. It is currently part of the International Baccalaureate program.

The Veterans Memorial Elementary School, also known as Veterans Memorial STEM Academy, at 1200 Locust St., is a public elementary school in Reno, Nevada, operated by the Washoe County School District. It occupies a historic Moderne-style building dating from 1949 that was designed by Nevada architect Russell Mills. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It was deemed significant "for its role in the local history of education" and "for its Art Deco/Moderne style of architecture by a prominent local architect, Russell Mills.": 5 Students zoned to Veterans Memorial are zoned to Vaughn Middle School and Earl Wooster High School.
