Rochester Independent College (RIC) is an Independent Schools Council accredited co-educational, private day and boarding school, in Rochester, United Kingdom. It was established in 1984.

Medway Adult Education is the principal provider of adult and community learning services in the Medway unitary authority area of Kent, England. Operated as a department of Medway Council, it delivers a comprehensive range of adult learning opportunities and nationally accredited qualifications across Medway, primarily funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). MAE operates two main permanent centres: the historic Rochester Centre, housed in the Grade II listed former Rochester Technical Institute (1905–06), and the Medway Learning & Skills Hub in Gillingham.

Eastgate House is a Grade I listed Elizabethan townhouse in Rochester, Kent, England. It is notable for its association with author Charles Dickens, featuring as Westgate in The Pickwick Papers and as the Nun's House in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Now a Dickens Museum, the grounds of Eastgate House contain the Swiss chalet in which Dickens penned several of his novels.

Chatham Central was the terminus of the Chatham Extension from Strood serving the towns of Chatham and Rochester. The station was opened by the South Eastern Railway which merged with the London, Chatham and Dover Railway to form the South Eastern and Chatham Railway in 1899. After the merger the SE & CR deemed that the Chatham Extension was an unnecessary duplication of the line and stations that it inherited from the LC & DR, and therefore the Extension and its stations, including Chatham Central, was closed in 1911. Apart from the present railway bridge (part of Rochester Bridge), no trace of the station or the Chatham Extension is evident today. Houses on Doust Way have been built over the site of the station.

Restoration House in Rochester, Kent in England, is a fine example of an Elizabethan mansion. It is so named after the visit of King Charles II on the eve of his restoration. Charles had landed in Dover on 25 May 1660 and by the evening of the 28th arrived in Rochester. He was received by the Mayor and eventually retired for the night to the home of Colonel Gibbon. The following day Charles continued to London and was proclaimed King on 29 May, his 30th birthday. Although the home of Colonel Gibbon, the property was actually owned by Sir Francis Clerke (he was knighted during the visit), a fact which has led to confusion in the past.Although it is a private home, the house and garden are open to the public during the summer. The house is protected as a Grade I listed building.

St John Fisher Catholic Comprehensive School (simply referred to as SJF) is an 11–18 mixed, Roman Catholic, voluntary aided secondary school and sixth form in Chatham, Kent, England. It was established in 1964 and is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark. It is one of two genuine comprehensive schools in Medway, an authority that retains selection. Pupils also travel in from Sittingbourne and Sheppey in Kent. It is the only Catholic secondary school within the local authority and the only secondary school with two campuses. The main campus at Ordnance Street is for year 9 to 13, while years 7 and 8 are on a campus known as the Lower School, at 79 Maidstone Road.Planning permission was given in March 2021, for the school to consolidate on a single site on City Way on existing playing fields.

Rochester railway station is on the Chatham Main Line in England, serving the town of Rochester, Kent. It is 33 miles 61 chains (54.3 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Sole Street and Chatham. The station and most trains that call are operated by Southeastern and Thameslink, including a handful of peak services to and from Bedford operated by the latter. In December 2015 a new station on Corporation Street opened 500 metres (1,600 ft) to the west of the original station which it replaced. It is now closer to the town centre and its historic buildings.

The French Hospital was founded in 1718 in Finsbury on behalf of poor French Protestants and their descendants residing in Great Britain. In the 1860s it moved into the spectacular purpose-built hospital designed by Robert Lewis Roumieu in Victoria Park, Hackney, and then in the 1940s moved out of London to Compton's Lea, Horsham, West Sussex. Since 1959 it has been located in Rochester, Kent and today provides almshouse accommodation for Huguenot descendants.

Fort Pitt is a Napoleonic era fort on the high ground of the boundary between Chatham and Rochester, Kent. A fort on the site was proposed as early as 1779 by Hugh Debbieg, then Chief Engineer at Chatham. In 1783 the land was purchased by the Board of Ordnance and 4.5 million bricks were deposited there in preparation for construction. (Nothing immediately followed, however, and the bricks were instead used for the rebuilding of the Lines).The fort was finally built between 1805 and 1819. At that point, the Napoleonic Wars having ended, it ceased being manned as a fort and instead became an important military hospital. In the 1820s-50s it was the only General (as opposed to regimental) Military Hospital in England, and, until the opening of Netley Hospital in 1863, it was considered the de facto Headquarters of the Army Medical Department. Fort Pitt Hospital closed in the 1920s, since when the surviving buildings have housed a girls' grammar school.

The University for the Creative Arts, Rochester, commonly UCA Rochester, was a specialist arts campus in Kent, England. Established in 1970, the campus closed in September 2023. Situated on a 1.82-acre site overlooking the River Medway, it included a 1970s Brutalist building. Notable alumni include Tracey Emin, Zandra Rhodes, Karen Millen, and Stephen Webster. The site is currently vacant pending redevelopment.

Rochester Riverside is a large-scale urban regeneration district located on a 74-acre (30-hectare) brownfield site between the River Medway and the railway line in Rochester, Kent, England. The development aims to create a mixed-use community, combining residential, commercial, and public spaces, while improving transport infrastructure and reconnecting the town centre to the riverside. It is a significant component of the ongoing regeneration efforts in the Medway area.

St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Rochester was founded in 1078 for the care of the poor and lepers. It survived as a charity until taken over with the founding of the National Health Service. The hospital closed permanently in September 2016.
