Tanglewood (Maidens, Virginia)

Mount Bernard Complex, also known as Lightfoot's Beaverdam Plantation and Kameschatka, is a historic plantation house and farm complex located near Maidens, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1850, and consists of a central gabled pavilion is flanked by subsidiary wings. It sits on a stone foundation dating to the 18th century. The house was altered in the 1920s in the Classical Revival style. Additions in the 1920s and 1940s to the sides and rear have subsequently turned the original T-shaped plan into a rectangle. Also on the property are the contributing two secondary dwellings, a slave quarters / kitchen, an ice house and cool chamber, a large barn / stable, two smaller stables, a corn crib, an equipment shelter, and a well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

James River Correctional Center was a medium-security state-run correctional facility in Goochland County, Virginia, USA near Crozier, Virginia. Opened 1896 but built in 1913, the center housed approximately 450 male prisoners at any given time. The facility was closed effective April 1, 2011.

Maidens (or Maiden's Adventure) is a small unincorporated community in Goochland County, Virginia, United States. Sited on the north side of the James River, it is currently located at the junction of U.S. Route 522, State Route 6, and State Route 634.

Brightly is a historic plantation house located near Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1842, and is a two-story, single pile, central-passage-plan, gable-roofed brick dwelling in the Greek Revival style. The front facade features a one-story, one-bay Greek Revival Doric order porch. Also on the property are the contributing pair of slave dwellings, privy, granary, chicken house, barn, well house, windmill, cemetery and the gate posts.The house now serves as a small bed and breakfast. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Goochland County Court Square is a historic county courthouse and national historic district located at Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. It includes three contributing buildings and one contributing site. The Goochland County Court House was built in 1826 by Dabney Cosby, an architect of the area. It is a two-story, temple-form brick structure with a projecting pedimented tetrastyle Tuscan order portico. Other buildings in the square include the 1848 two-story, hipped-roof stone jail; the original one-story, brick clerk's office; and a monument to the Confederate dead of Goochland County. The latter was erected in the late 19th or early 20th century.The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Goochland County Public Schools is a school district which serves Goochland County, Virginia, United States. It is based in Goochland, Virginia. Enrollment hovers around 2600 students and the school division has five schools. Each of the five schools have been named Apple Distinguished Schools, 2019–2021, due to the division's strong one-to-one computing program. Goochland is a census-designated place (CDP) in and the county seat of Goochland County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 861. The community is also known as Goochland Courthouse or by an alternative spelling, Goochland Court House. It derives its name from the fact that the community is the location of the county's court house, while the county in turn is named for Sir William Gooch, 1st Baronet, the royal lieutenant governor of Virginia from 1727 to 1749.

Crozier has a post office with ZIP code 23039.The First Union School, a Rosenwald school; and Springdale, a historic brick farmhouse built about 1800, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Today, Crozier is the location of the Basic Correctional Officer's Academy. The state's Correctional Officers are trained here.
