Brightly is a historic plantation house located near Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1842, and is a two-story, single pile, central-passage-plan, gable-roofed brick dwelling in the Greek Revival style. The front facade features a one-story, one-bay Greek Revival Doric order porch. Also on the property are the contributing pair of slave dwellings, privy, granary, chicken house, barn, well house, windmill, cemetery and the gate posts.The house now serves as a small bed and breakfast. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Virginia Correctional Center for Women is a female-only state prison in Virginia, USA. It is a part of the Virginia Department of Corrections.Opened in 1931, it is located on US 522 / SR 6 between Maidens and Goochland, in central Virginia. The Virginia Department of Transportation maintains the entrance road as State Route 329.

Goochland County Court Square is a historic county courthouse and national historic district located at Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. It includes three contributing buildings and one contributing site. The Goochland County Court House was built in 1826 by Dabney Cosby, an architect of the area. It is a two-story, temple-form brick structure with a projecting pedimented tetrastyle Tuscan order portico. Other buildings in the square include the 1848 two-story, hipped-roof stone jail; the original one-story, brick clerk's office; and a monument to the Confederate dead of Goochland County. The latter was erected in the late 19th or early 20th century.The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Goochland County Public Schools is a school district which serves Goochland County, Virginia, United States. It is based in Goochland, Virginia. Enrollment hovers around 2600 students and the school division has five schools. Each of the five schools have been named Apple Distinguished Schools, 2019–2021, due to the division's strong one-to-one computing program. Goochland is a census-designated place (CDP) in and the county seat of Goochland County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 861. The community is also known as Goochland Courthouse or by an alternative spelling, Goochland Court House. It derives its name from the fact that the community is the location of the county's court house, while the county in turn is named for Sir William Gooch, 1st Baronet, the royal lieutenant governor of Virginia from 1727 to 1749.

Mount Bernard Complex, also known as Lightfoot's Beaverdam Plantation and Kameschatka, is a historic plantation house and farm complex located near Maidens, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1850, and consists of a central gabled pavilion is flanked by subsidiary wings. It sits on a stone foundation dating to the 18th century. The house was altered in the 1920s in the Classical Revival style. Additions in the 1920s and 1940s to the sides and rear have subsequently turned the original T-shaped plan into a rectangle. Also on the property are the contributing two secondary dwellings, a slave quarters / kitchen, an ice house and cool chamber, a large barn / stable, two smaller stables, a corn crib, an equipment shelter, and a well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

It is a median level security prison (level 3 out of 5). Google Maps incorrectly places the facility at the James River Detention Center and after a year of suggested edits will not change the location.

Beaumont is a historic home located near Michaux, Powhatan County, Virginia. It consists of a two-story, five-bay, central-passage frame structure built in 1811, with a two-story rear brick addition built about 1839. The front facade features a two-tier portico. The main block has a gable roof and exterior end chimneys. The property was acquired in 1937 by "Beaumont Farms" as a reform school for boys. The property is under the jurisdiction of the Virginia Department of Corrections and serves as the Beaumont Learning Center.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Dover Slave Quarter Complex is a set of five historic structures located on Brookview Farm near Manakin-Sabot, Goochland County, Virginia. They were built as one-story, two-unit, brick structures with steep gable roofs for housing African-American slaves. The houses are arranged in a wide arc, measuring 360 ft (110 m) in length. The center dwelling had a frame second-story added and its brick walls covered by siding when it was converted to an overseer's house. It has a recent rear addition. In addition to the center dwelling, one of the former slave dwellings serves as the farm office, one serves as a woodworking shop, and the remaining two are used for storage. Also on the farm are the two early 20th-century contributing farm structures; one is an impressively long dairy barn, and there are two tenant houses, silos, and storage buildings.The structures were listed as a group on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Lock-Keeper's House is a historic home located near Cedar Point, Goochland County, Virginia. It was built about 1836, and is a two-story frame structure resting on a stone foundation of whitewashed, rough-faced, uncoursed ashlar. It has a shallow gable roof and a shed roof porch that extends the length of the building. It was built to serve Lock Number 7 at Cedar Point and is the last remaining lock-keeper's house of the James River and Kanawha Canal system. It addition to being a residence, the lock-keeper's house served as a tavern and furnished accommodations for passengers and canal boat crews.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
