The First Union School is a historic Rosenwald school building for African-American children located at 1522 Old Mill Rd. in Crozier, Virginia. It was built in 1926, as a two-teacher school. It is a one-story frame school on a concrete foundation. It has an engaged porch and hipped roof. The listing included two contributing buildings. The school operated until December 1958, when the county integrated its public schools. It was converted to residential use in 1985.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

James River Correctional Center was a medium-security state-run correctional facility in Goochland County, Virginia, USA near Crozier, Virginia. Opened 1896 but built in 1913, the center housed approximately 450 male prisoners at any given time. The facility was closed effective April 1, 2011.

Fine Creek Mills Historic District encompasses a historic mill-centered community in Powhatan County, Virginia, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.The Fine Creek Mills Historic District is composed of two adjacent parcels of land containing approximately 15 acres (61,000 m2) of land on either side of Robert E. Lee Road (Route 641) near the intersection of Huguenot Trail (Route 711) in Powhatan County, Virginia. Situated at a bend in the road where it originally crossed Fine Creek at the lower falls, the community of Fine Creek Mills developed as early as the 1730s when a gristmill was established along the creek. The community continued to flourish as a commercial center for the area into the mid 20th century with a school, post office and store also located there. With a road along Fine Creek leading to the ferry across the James River at Lee's Landing, Fine Creek Mills served as an important link to the James River and the railroad to Richmond.The property included in the district consists of the Fine Creek Mill Ruins, the Fine Creek Manor Site (Peter Jefferson Home Site), and the Miller's House, dating from the mid-18th century, as well as the Gatehouse/Cheese Factory, the Fine Creek School, the Store and the Chase-Harris House, all of which date to the early 20th century. Several other stores, a blacksmith shop, a cooper's shop and a post office were also located in Fine Creek Mills at one time, but do not exist today.A new reception facility, The Mill at Fine Creek, is located in the historic district and makes the Miller's House available for overnight accommodation.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church in Fine Creek Mills, Virginia, United States. It was built in 1843–1844, and is a one-story, Classical Revival style brick church building. It measures 20 feet wide by 36 feet deep, and features a pedimented front gable roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Tanglewood, also known as Tanglewood Ordinary and Tanglewood Tavern, is a historic hotel and tavern located near Maidens, Goochland County, Virginia. The earliest section was built as a gas station in 1929. It is the front one-story projection. A large 2 1/2-story Rustic style log section was added in 1935. The rear addition was built as a restaurant / dance hall on the first floor and living quarters on the upper floors. A two-story "owners" house was built into a hillside behind Tanglewood in about 1950.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Mount Bernard Complex, also known as Lightfoot's Beaverdam Plantation and Kameschatka, is a historic plantation house and farm complex located near Maidens, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1850, and consists of a central gabled pavilion is flanked by subsidiary wings. It sits on a stone foundation dating to the 18th century. The house was altered in the 1920s in the Classical Revival style. Additions in the 1920s and 1940s to the sides and rear have subsequently turned the original T-shaped plan into a rectangle. Also on the property are the contributing two secondary dwellings, a slave quarters / kitchen, an ice house and cool chamber, a large barn / stable, two smaller stables, a corn crib, an equipment shelter, and a well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

He recalls that local legend had it that Oilville was an important stage coach stop on Three Chopt Road, known then as Horsepen Mills. He said that when a sassafras oil mill was set up there, it then became known as Oilville. He recalled “as a very small boy, I remember the sassafras logs laying about the woods and the holes where the stumps had been dug out. Norwood is a historic plantation house located near Powhatan, Powhatan County, Virginia. It was built in the 18th century and remodeled about 1835. It is a two-story, five-bay, Federal style brick dwelling with a hipped roof. The remodeling included the addition of flanking two-story wings and a two-story rear extension. The front facade features a sheltering porch with coupled Ionic order columns, marble paving, and granite steps. Also on the property are the contributing office, plantation kitchen, and privy.
