Bonus Pastor Catholic College is a voluntary aided, Roman Catholic coeducational school for 900 pupils. The school was founded by the Catholic Church in September 1958 to provide education for children of Catholic families.

Conisborough College is a coeducational community secondary school, located in the Catford area of the London Borough of Lewisham, England.The school offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.Conisborough College has entered into a partnership with Colfe's School, an independent school located in Horn Park. The partnership consists of projects and cross-curricular activities between the schools, and the highest achieving pupils from Conisborough are offered scholarships to the sixth form at Colfe's.

Downham Woodland Walk is a linear park and local nature reserve in Downham in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is also a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1. The site is owned and managed by Lewisham Council.The walk dates back to the nineteenth century, and with the construction of the Downham housing estate in the 1920 it became an important green space for local residents. The eastern section between Moorside Road and Downderry Road existed in 1805, and it has a number of species indicative of ancient woodland, such as wood anemone and dog's mercury. West of Downderry Road the walk is narrower and the flora less diverse. The walk has a good variety of birds and a number of rare invertebrates, such as the leaf beetle Chrysolina oricalcia and the ant Lasius brunneus, while hawthorns have a population of the nationally scarce jewel beetle Agrilus sinuatus.The walk runs west from Moorside Road, opposite Undershaw Road, to cross Downderry Road, and then turns south to Oakridge Road. It then runs west again to finish at the junction of Oakridge Road and Bromley Road.

Catford Studios was a British film studio located in Catford in Southeast London which operated from 1914 to 1921. It was also known as the Windsor Studios. The studio was constructed in 1914, and produced a number of notable films during the First World War such as Tom Brown's Schooldays and the first Edgar Wallace adaptation The Man Who Bought London. After the war the studio was acquired by the Broadwest Company of Walter West who used it largely as an overflow facility for his main base at Walthamstow Studios. When Broadwest ran into financial problems, the studio was closed.

Whitefoot is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is located 13 km (8.1 mi) south-east of Charing Cross, and is north of Downham, south of Catford, west of Grove Park, and east of Bellingham. It is long east to west following Whitefoot Lane, the local main road, making it about 3 km (1.9 mi) at its longest point. Whitefoot is also on the Prime Meridian. Part of the South Eastern Main Line railway between Hither Green and Grove Park stations marks the whole eastern border of the ward. The western border is marked partly by some of the Catford Loop Line, between Bellingham and Beckenham Hill stations, and small parts of two A roads, South End Lane (A2218 road) and Bromley Road (A21 road). Although railway lines make much of the wards boundaries, no train stations are located within Whitefoot. Whitefoot is covered by two postcode districts, BR1 covering the south and SE6 covering the north; most of their common boundary follows Whitefoot Lane. Hither Green Cemetery is located on the east side of the ward, and Forster Memorial Park in the west. One of the ward's councillors from 2010 to 2019 was Labour's Janet Daby, who resigned to concentrate on her role as the MP for Lewisham East, which includes Whitefoot in its boundaries. She won the parliamentary seat at a 2018 by-election. In 2006, the Liberal Democrats won all three ward seats. Daby gained one in 2010, before the other two seats were gained by Labour in 2014. As of 2021, all three seats are held by Labour.From 2022, Whitefoot will be replaced by the new Catford South, Hither Green and Downham wards.

Downham is a district of south-east London, England, within the London Borough of Lewisham. It borders the London Borough of Bromley, and is located north of Bromley and south of Catford. Downham was named in honour of Lord Downham, who was chairman of the London County Council between 1919 and 1920.The Prime Meridian passes just to the west of Downham.

Downham Fields is a 20-acre park located in Downham, South East London. It is sometimes referred to in documents by the name Durham Hill, but this is not in common usage. It was left as parkland during the construction of the interwar Downham Estate because its steep hill made building difficult.The park's height and west-facing slope provides views to Croydon, Crystal Palace, London and Sydenham.

Beckenham Hill railway station is in the London Borough of Lewisham in south London, very close to the border with Bromley. It is 9 miles 45 chains (15.4 km) measured from London Victoria. It is in Travelcard Zone 4, and the station and all trains are operated by Thameslink. It serves the mainly residential areas of Southend Road and Downham as well as parts of Bellingham.

The bombing of Sandhurst Road School occurred during an air raid on Wednesday, 20 January 1943 when the school on Minard Road, Catford, south east London was seriously damaged. A German fighter-bomber dropped a single 500-kilogram (1,100 lb) bomb on the school at 12:30 pm, killing 38 children (32 killed at the school and 6 more died in hospital) and 6 staff and injuring another 60 people. Many were buried for hours under the rubble.

Bellingham railway station is in the London Borough of Lewisham in south London. It is in Travelcard Zone 3, and the station and all trains are operated by Thameslink. The station buildings lie on Randlesdown Road in Bellingham; the platforms are below street level. The station, which lies on what today is known as the Catford Loop, was opened on 1 July 1892. It is 8 miles 73 chains (14.3 km) measured from London Victoria.

The Fellowship and Star is a Grade II listed pub at Randlesdown Road, Bellingham, London SE6 3BT. Built in 1923–24 and designed by the architect F. G. Newnham, the pub opened as The Fellowship Inn. Under that name, it hosted gigs by bands including Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, and was used as both a gym and a home by boxer Henry Cooper in the run-up to his 1963 fight against Muhammad Ali.In 2018 The Fellowship Inn underwent refurbishment and redevelopment to restore the interior. It reopened in June 2019 as The Fellowship and Star, including a cinema, microbrewery, music rooms and community spaces.The pub is on Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.

Ravensbourne railway station is in the London Borough of Bromley in south London. The station adjoins Beckenham Place Park and serves the north edge of Beckenham and Shortlands. It is 10 miles 34 chains (16.8 km) measured from London Victoria. It is in Travelcard Zone 4, and the station and all trains are operated by Thameslink. Opened in 1892 by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway as part of their new Catford Loop line, the station retains its Victorian air of a quiet country station although its roadside booking office was rebuilt after a fire in 1988.
