Huvudsta metro station is a station on the blue line of the Stockholm metro, located in Huvudsta, Solna Municipality. The station was opened on 18 August 1985 as part of the extension between Västra skogen and Rinkeby. The distance to Kungsträdgården is 5.2 km (3.2 mi).

Solnahallen is a 2,000-capacity indoor arena located in Stockholm, Sweden. It serves as the home arena for the Solna Vikings. The music video for the song "The Final Countdown" by the band Europe was shot at Solnahallen on May 26 and 27, 1986. A helicopter view of the hall is included in the video. Europe's logo and the year -86 printed in big letters are visible in the shot of the roof. On September 26, 1986 Metallica played their last concert with bassist Cliff Burton at Solnahallen, one day before Burton was killed in a bus accident.

Solna strand (known as Vreten until 18 August 2014) is a subway station on the Stockholm metro blue line. It was opened on 18 August 1985 as part of the extension between Västra skogen and Rinkeby and is located in the Huvudsta region of the Solna Municipality. The platform is located in bedrock, 28 m (92 ft) below ground level under Vretenvägen. The entrance is in the north end at Korta gatan. The station's theme is defined by artwork created by the Japanese-Swedish sculptor Takashi Naraha in 1985 called Himmelen av kub (The heaven of cube). It is located in and named after Solna Strand, a former industrial area on the shore of Lake Mälaren that has since developed into an area of office buildings. Organisations here include the Swedish Tax Authority, Hewlett-Packard and Axfood. There is also a power plant by the coast. Until 2014 the area was called Vretens industriområde (Vreten industrial area), after the farmstead called Vreten which was located here in the 19th century. Solna Business Park is located across the Mälaren Line railway to the north, and the Sundbyberg Municipality districts Lilla Alby and Central Sundbyberg are located to the west.

Huvudstabron (Swedish: "The Huvudsta Bridge") is a bridge in Sweden. Stretching over Bällstaviken it connects the industrial area Ulvsunda in the municipality Stockholm to the city district Huvudsta in the municipality Solna. I first bridge at the location was put forward in the 1930s, but was never realized until the general plan of 1960 when plans for the never realized arterial road Huvudstaleden was being discussed. Huvudstabron was built 1964–67 as a first stage in the project.It is a pre-stressed concrete structure, 286 metres in length with six spans of which the central passing over the strait below is the longest with a span of 100 metres; it is 28.2 metres wide with two 3 metres wide footways separated from the roadway by railings; and a horizontal clearance of 24 metres.

Traneberg is a residential district in western Stockholm (Västerort) and part of the Bromma borough. For the 1912 Summer Olympics, Tranebergs Idrottsplats hosted some of the football competitions. Most of the district was built between 1934 and 1940.

Solna Municipality (Swedish: Solna kommun or Solna stad, IPA: [ˈsôːlna]) is a municipality in Stockholm County in Sweden, located just north of Stockholm City Centre. Its seat is located in the town of Solna, which is a part of the Stockholm urban area. Solna is one of the richest municipalities in Sweden. The municipality is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm. None of the area is considered rural, which is unusual for Swedish municipalities, which normally are of mixed rural/urban character. Solna is the third smallest municipality in Sweden in terms of area. Solna borders Stockholm Municipality to the south, southeast and northwest; to Sundbyberg Municipality to the west; to Sollentuna Municipality to the north; and to Danderyd Municipality to the northeast. The boundary with Danderyd Municipality is delineated by the Stocksundet strait. There are two parishes in Solna Municipality: Råsunda (population 29,677) and Solna (population 28,317). Solna Parish once included parts of present-day City of Stockholm.Solna is divided into eight traditional parts with no administrative functions: Bergshamra, Haga, Hagalund, Huvudsta, Järva, Råsunda, Skytteholm and Ulriksdal. The largest districts are Råsunda, Hagalund and Huvudsta, with the Solna Centrum in between them. With few exceptions, Solna's built-up areas have a suburban character, but there are also several large parks and Friends Arena, Sweden's new national football stadium adjacent to the Solna station of Stockholm commuter rail. The final matches of both the 1958 FIFA (men's) World Cup and the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup were played at Råsunda Stadium, the national football stadium from 1937 to 2012 (demolished in 2013). Solna has attracted a wide range of businesses and authorities, making it a major place of work in Greater Stockholm. Among the most important employers are the medical university Karolinska Institutet and the Karolinska University Hospital. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) are also located in Solna.

Tranebergs Idrottsplats was a football stadium in Traneberg district, western Stockholm, Sweden. It was opened in September 1911. Tranebergs Idrottsplats served as the home ground of Djurgårdens IF for 25 seasons. The stadium was closed in September 1936, followed up by demolition.

Solna centrum is a shopping mall and metro station in Solna Municipality, approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) from central Stockholm, Sweden. It is close to the Friends Arena and opened on 31 August 1975 as part the first stretch of the Blue Line between T-Centralen and Hjulsta. The mall contains around 120 stores and restaurants, 40 offices and 214 apartments.

Alvik metro station is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro, and on the Tvärbanan and Nockebybanan lines of Stockholm tramways. It is located on the border between the districts of Traneberg and Alvik, which are part of the borough of Bromma in the west of the city of Stockholm. The station is one of the intermediate termini along the northern section of the Green line, with line 18 trains normally terminating, and is also the terminus of the Nockebybanan.Alvik station has tracks on two levels, both above ground. The higher level has two island platforms aligned east-west and serving four tracks. The outer pair of tracks are through tracks used by metro trains, whilst the inner pair of tracks are used to terminate Nockebybanan trams, thus providing cross-platform interchange between the Nockebybanan and metro. The lower level, which is at street level, has a pair of side platforms, aligned north-south and just to the west of the higher level platforms, which are used by trams on the Tvärbanan.At the west end of the station, a complex set of elevated tracks ensures that metro trains and trams on both lines are segregated from each other. The metro and the Nockeby tramway are also connected by shared tracks (electrified with both third rail and overhead lines) to the nearby Brommadepån tram depot. Metro trains terminating at Alvik use reversing tracks within the depot to switch between westbound and eastbound metro platforms. A curved tunnel also connects the depot to the lower Tvärbanan tracks, thus allow stock interchange between the two tram lines.

Näckrosen (meaning the water lily) is a station on the Stockholm metro, blue line. The station is located in Solna Municipality (northwestern end of Råsunda area), but one of the entrances is in Sundbyberg Municipality (Storskogen square). The Näckrosen station was opened on 31 August 1975 as part the first stretch of the Blue Line between T-Centralen and Hjulsta. The trains were running via Hallonbergen and Rinkeby. It is located deep underground under a residential area, close to the Gamla Filmstaden former movie production area.

Råsunda Stadium (Swedish: [ˈrôːˌsɵnːda] (listen); also known as Råsunda Fotbollsstadion, Råsundastadion, Råsunda Football Stadium or just Råsunda) was the Swedish national football stadium. It was located in Solna Municipality in Stockholm and named after the district in Solna where it is located. In November 2012 it was closed down and replaced by the newly built Friends Arena about 1 km from Råsunda Stadium. Råsunda Stadium was completely demolished in 2013 and flats and offices was built on the old ground.

Råsunda IP (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈrôːˌsɵnːda] (listen)) was a football stadium in Solna, Sweden and the former home stadium for the football team AIK before the construction of Råsunda Stadium. It was founded in 1910 and was demolished in 1937 when Råsunda Stadium was built on the existing site of the stadium
