Råsunda Stadium (Swedish: [ˈrôːˌsɵnːda] (listen); also known as Råsunda Fotbollsstadion, Råsundastadion, Råsunda Football Stadium or just Råsunda) was the Swedish national football stadium. It was located in Solna Municipality in Stockholm and named after the district in Solna where it is located. In November 2012 it was closed down and replaced by the newly built Friends Arena about 1 km from Råsunda Stadium. Råsunda Stadium was completely demolished in 2013 and flats and offices was built on the old ground.

Råsunda is a district in Solna Municipality, and a suburb in the Stockholm metropolitan area with around 17 500 inhabitants. The movie industry set up in the area Filmstaden, formerly an ostrich farm, in 1919-1969 (nowadays the area has homes, offices) in western Råsunda. A large football stadium (Råsunda Stadium) stood in central Råsunda 1937-2003, on the grounds of a sports field that existed from 1910. Råsunda can be reached by the Näckrosen metro station (west part), Solna centrum metro and light rail station (south edge), the commuter train and light rail Solna station (east edge) and the major road Frösundaleden (south edge). The district neighbours Storskogen and Central Sundbyberg (both in Sundbyberg Municipality) to the west, Skytteholm to the south, Hagalund to the east and Järva the north. The lake Råstasjön is located to the north.

Solna Gymnasium is a secondary school in Solna, Sweden, in the Stockholm metropolitan area. It was opened as the Solna Läroverk in April 1948. Crown Prince Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden attended the opening.

Solnahallen is a 2,000-capacity indoor arena located in Stockholm, Sweden. It serves as the home arena for the Solna Vikings. The music video for the song "The Final Countdown" by the band Europe was shot at Solnahallen on May 26 and 27, 1986. A helicopter view of the hall is included in the video. Europe's logo and the year -86 printed in big letters are visible in the shot of the roof. On September 26, 1986 Metallica played their last concert with bassist Cliff Burton at Solnahallen, one day before Burton was killed in a bus accident.

Solna Municipality (Swedish: Solna kommun or Solna stad, IPA: [ˈsôːlna]) is a municipality in Stockholm County in Sweden, located just north of Stockholm City Centre. Its seat is located in the town of Solna, which is a part of the Stockholm urban area. Solna is one of the richest municipalities in Sweden. The municipality is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm. None of the area is considered rural, which is unusual for Swedish municipalities, which normally are of mixed rural/urban character. Solna is the third smallest municipality in Sweden in terms of area. Solna borders Stockholm Municipality to the south, southeast and northwest; to Sundbyberg Municipality to the west; to Sollentuna Municipality to the north; and to Danderyd Municipality to the northeast. The boundary with Danderyd Municipality is delineated by the Stocksundet strait. There are two parishes in Solna Municipality: Råsunda (population 29,677) and Solna (population 28,317). Solna Parish once included parts of present-day City of Stockholm.Solna is divided into eight traditional parts with no administrative functions: Bergshamra, Haga, Hagalund, Huvudsta, Järva, Råsunda, Skytteholm and Ulriksdal. The largest districts are Råsunda, Hagalund and Huvudsta, with the Solna Centrum in between them. With few exceptions, Solna's built-up areas have a suburban character, but there are also several large parks and Friends Arena, Sweden's new national football stadium adjacent to the Solna station of Stockholm commuter rail. The final matches of both the 1958 FIFA (men's) World Cup and the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup were played at Råsunda Stadium, the national football stadium from 1937 to 2012 (demolished in 2013). Solna has attracted a wide range of businesses and authorities, making it a major place of work in Greater Stockholm. Among the most important employers are the medical university Karolinska Institutet and the Karolinska University Hospital. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) are also located in Solna.

Westfield Mall of Scandinavia is a shopping mall located in Solna in Stockholm, Sweden. It was inaugurated on November 12, 2015, and is the second largest mall in the Nordic countries with 224 stores, many of them with double-height storefronts up to 8 m (26 ft) tall. 50,000 shoppers showed up to the opening of the mall. About 20-25% of the leasable area is dedicated to experiences, including 22 restaurants and a 15 screen multiplex with the first purpose-built commercial IMAX theatre in the Nordic region (and also the second overall IMAX theatre in Sweden after the Cosmonova planetarium at the Swedish Museum of Natural History). The shopping mall has 3,700 parking spaces and a retail gross leasable area of 101,048 m2 (1,087,670 sq ft). The building also house an additional 42,000 m2 (450,000 sq ft) of office space and condominiums.The project cost is estimated at SEK 6,1 billion and the mall is owned by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield with Peab as the main contractor. Located near the Solna commuter rail station, approximately seven minutes from the Stockholm city centre, and the E4 highway, it is part of the Arenastaden project, which includes 450,000 m2 (4,800,000 sq ft) of new office space, the Friends national football arena and 1,500 residential units.In 2019, the mall was bought by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. The mall changed its name from Mall of Scandinavia to Westfield Mall of Scandinavia on September 28, 2019.

Nationalarenan, currently known as Friends Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. Located next to the lake Råstasjön in Solna, just north of the City Centre, it is the biggest stadium in Scandinavia. Since its opening, the venue has served as Sweden's national stadium for men's football, hence the name Nationalarenan. The main tenants of the stadium are Sweden's men's national football team and Allsvenskan football club AIK; both relocated from their previous home at the Råsunda Stadium. The venue has a total capacity of 65,000 at concerts and 50,000 seated at football matches, but the stadium can be scaled down to provide for smaller events with approximately 20,000 guests.

The 1986 Svenska Cupen final took place on 2 July 1986 at Råsunda in Solna. The match was contested by Allsvenskan sides Malmö FF and IFK Göteborg. IFK Göteborg played its first final since 1983 and its fourth final in total; Malmö FF played its first final since 1984 and its 15th final in total. Malmö FF won its 13th title with a 2–1 victory.

Solna is a station in Solna Municipality in Stockholm for commuter trains and the Tvärbanan light rail. The lines J40 (Uppsala C-Södertälje C), J41 (Märsta-Södertälje C), J42 (Märsta-Nynäshamn) and L30 (Sickla-Solna station) stop here, as well as ten bus lines. The commuter train station opened in 1895, but was moved a 100 meters in 1903 and moved again in 1911, when the tunnel through the hill Hagalundsberget to the south was completed. In 1955 the name of the station was changed from "Hagalund" to "Solna". The northern entrance is located at a bridge connecting the Arenastaden and Frösunda areas of the Järva district. Arenastaden is home to the Friends Arena and the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia. The southern entrance is located between the districts Hagalund and Råsunda. In 2014 the Tvärbanan line was extended to the south entrance, with a stop called Solna station. A metro station, named "Arenastaden", on a new extension from Odenplan, is planned to have its southern entrance next to the Tvärbanan station, on the other side from the railway station entrance, while the northern exit will be just south of the Arenastaden area. On an average day, 20 900 journeys are done by commuter train from Solna station, 5 200 by Tvärbanan and 4 600 by bus.

Västra skogen (Swedish: The Western Forest) is a station on the Blue Line of the Stockholm metro, in Huvudsta, Solna Municipality. The station was opened on 31 August 1975 as part the first stretch of the Blue Line between T-Centralen and Hjulsta. The trains were running via Hallonbergen and Rinkeby. On 18 August 1985 the extension to Rinkeby was opened, and the stretch between Hallonbergen and Rinkeby was closed for passenger traffic. It features one of the longest escalators in western Europe, 66 meters and with a vertical rise of 33 meters. This part of Huvudsta was earlier called Ingentingskogen (The Nothing Forest) after a small farm called Ingenting; the name Ingenting (Nothing) was suggested as a name for the new station, but rejected. The station has three platforms, one for trains towards Hjulsta and Akalla, and two platforms towards Kungsträdgården, to allow trains from the two branches of the line to wait in the station before the two lines merge beyond the station.

Hagalund (pronunciation) is a residential area and railway yard in Solna Municipality, 5 km north of central Stockholm. It is known for the blue highrise buildings "Blåkulla" (Blue Hill or Blockula) which, against a rather strong and long-lasting opinion, in the beginning of the 1970s replaced a picturesque working-class and craftsman neighbourhood built in the 1890s and portrayed by artist Olle Olsson Hagalund. There are still about half a dozen old houses preserved, a minor area called Gamla Hagalund (Old Hagalund) in the eastern part of the area. It has eight large light-blue residential buildings that consist of 13 floors and an extra roof floor. The houses can be seen from Kaknästornet. Hagalund also houses Sweden's largest railway depot (sv:Hagalunds bangård) which opened in 1916 on the East Coast Line to consolidate all the previous railway depots in the Stockholm area. Hagalund is close to Solna centrum, about 1 kilometer. It is also near Haga Palace which is in Hagaparken. It is near the new Swedish national stadium Friends Arena. It is not very far away from Karolinska University Hospital. It is not far away from Huvudsta and Bergshamra, Solna.
