Estudios Churubusco

La Esmeralda or Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado (ENPEG) (English: National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking) is a Mexican art school founded in 1927 and located in Mexico City.

General Anaya is a station on Line 2 of the Mexico City Metro system. It is located in the Coyoacán borough of Mexico City, directly south of the city centre in the median of Calzada de Tlalpan, and right next to the Estudios Churubusco. It is a surface station.

The Battle of Churubusco took place on August 20, 1847, while Santa Anna's army was in retreat from the Battle of Contreras or Battle of Padierna during the Mexican–American War. It was the battle where the San Patricio Battalion, made up largely of US deserters, made their last stand against U.S. forces. The U.S. Army was victorious, outnumbering more than two-to-one the defending Mexican troops. After the battle, the U.S. Army was only 5 miles (8 km) away from Mexico City. 50 Saint Patrick's Battalion members were officially executed by the U.S. Army, all but two by hanging. Collectively, this was the largest mass execution in United States history.

The Museo Nacional de las Intervenciones (National Museum of the Interventions) is located in the former Monastery of San Diego Churubusco, which was built on top of an Aztec shrine. The museum is split into two sections. The downstairs is dedicated to the site’s history as a monastery, and the upstairs rooms are dedicated to artifacts related to the various military conflicts that have taken place on Mexican soil and how these have shaped the modern Mexican republic. The museum is located on Calle 20 de Agosto, one block east from Division del Norte, following Calle Xicoténcatl, in Churubusco. It is one of five museums that are operated directly by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH).

Ermita is a station on Line 2 and Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro system. According to the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo, Ermita serves as a transfer station of Line 12. It is located in the Benito Juárez borough of Mexico City, directly south of the city centre on Calzada de Tlalpan.

Parque Xicoténcatl is a public park in the Churubusco neighborhood of Coyoacán, Mexico City. It is located across from the Museo Nacional de las Intervenciones, which details foreign attacks since Mexican independence. The park is named after warrior prince Xicotencatl II of the Tlaxcala who was executed in 1521 after the fall of Tenochtitlan. The park was derelict prior to being nationalized and given its current name in 1965. It contains 6,000 m2 of trees and three talavera azulejo water fountains. President José López Portillo commissioned a sculpture of Hernán Cortés, Doña Marina, and their son Martín. The 1981 statue by Julián Martínez Sotos was originally placed in front of Cortés's house in Coyoacán. After López Portillo left office, the sculpture was moved to Parque Xicoténcatl.

Eje Central is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between Parque de los Venados and Ermita. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.

Tasqueña (sometimes also spelled Taxqueña) is a station on Line 2 of the Mexico City Metro system. It is located in the Campestre Churubusco neighborhood, within the Coyoacán borough of Mexico City, directly south of the city centre on Avenida Tasqueña and Canal de Miramontes. It is a surface station and the southern terminus of the line. In 2019, the station had an average ridership of 83,463 passengers per day, making it the seventh busiest station in the network.

Tasqueña is the northern terminal of the Xochimilco Light Rail. It is located south of Mexico City in the mayor of Coyoacán's office.

The Alberca Olímpica Francisco Márquez is an indoor swimming pool Olympic facility located in Mexico City, Mexico. It has a capacity of 4,300. It hosted the 1968 Summer Olympics for competitions of swimming, diving, water polo, and the swimming part of modern pentathlon. The only Mexican gold medal in Olympic swimming competitions was won at this site. It was won by Felipe Muñoz in the 200 metres men breast stroke competition. It also hosted the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships.

Jazzorca is Mexico City's most prominent dedicated free jazz and experimental music venue, founded by multi-instrumentalist Germán Bringas in 1994.

The Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera is an indoor arena located in Mexico City, Mexico. At the 1968 Summer Olympics, it hosted the volleyball competitions, and it is located next to the Olympic pool. It was the home of La Ola Roja del Distrito Federal of the LNBP from 2000 to 2007 and the professional basketball team Capitanes de Ciudad de México from 2017 to 2020. The arena seats 5,242 people in two stand levels. For years, it has been the traditional home of professional basketball in Mexico City.
