St Barnabas Church is a Church of England parish church in Jericho, central Oxford, England, located close to the Oxford Canal.

Jericho is an historic suburb of the English city of Oxford. It consists of the streets bounded by the Oxford Canal, Worcester College, Walton Street and Walton Well Road. Located outside the old city wall, it was originally a place for travellers to rest if they had reached the city after the gates had closed. The name Jericho may have been adopted to signify this 'remote place' outside the wall. As of February 2021, the population of Jericho and Osney wards was 6,995.

Isis Lock (known to boatmen as "Louse Lock") is a lock connecting the Oxford Canal and the Castle Mill Stream, a backwater of the River Thames in Oxford, England.

Great Clarendon Street is one of the principal thoroughfares of the Jericho district of Oxford, England, an inner suburb northwest of the centre of the city. At the northeast end of the street is a junction with Walton Street. Opposite is Freud's, a cafe in the former St Paul's church building constructed in the classical style. To the south is the Oxford University Press, which also houses the Oxford University Press Museum. The southwest end of the street ends near the Oxford Canal, just past the junction with Canal Street. Many of the houses here were built in the first half of the 19th century. In the early 19th century, Grey Coat's (University) School was located here. The street was named in 1890–1. The street is named after the Clarendon Press (aka, the Oxford University Press) of Oxford University, which moved to Jericho in 1830. School Court is a stone building, former school and a Grade II listed building in the street. Originally the Boys' School for St Paul's parish, when St Barnabas parish was created in 1869, the building housed St Barnabas Boys' School and the St Paul's schoolboys moved to a new school building in nearby Juxon Street. In 1963, the school closed and children at St Barnabas moved to the new Cherwell School in North Oxford. 24 Great Clarendon Street is another Grade II listed building and former shop on the corner with Hart Street.

Rewley Road Swing Bridge is a disused railway swing bridge over Sheepwash Channel in west Oxford, England. To the north are Cripley Meadow and Fiddler's Island and to the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The bridge was designed by Robert Stephenson and built in 1850–1. It was reconstructed in 1890 and 1906, latterly using steel girders. The bridge closed to passenger traffic in 1951 and to goods in 1984.

Sheepwash Channel connects the River Thames to the west and the Castle Mill Stream next to the Oxford Canal to the east (linked through Isis Lock), in west Oxford, England. To the north are Cripley Meadow (largely allotments) and Fiddler's Island. To the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The Cherwell Valley Line and Cotswold Line cross the channel just north of Oxford railway station on Sheepwash Channel Railway Bridge. Just to the east, there is Rewley Road Swing Bridge, a swing bridge for the former Buckinghamshire Railway line of London and North Western Railway, that used to serve the Oxford Rewley Road railway station, which was on the site of the Saïd Business School. Rewley Road Bridge also crosses Sheepwash Channel. The Isis Lock just to the north of the eastern end of Sheepwash Channel connects the Castle Mill Stream and the Oxford Canal, allowing access between the Oxford Canal and the River Thames via the channel for boats. At the western end is a footbridge over Sheepwash Channel, forming part of the Thames Path.

Sheepwash Channel Railway Bridge is a railway bridge over Sheepwash Channel in west Oxford, England, just north of Oxford railway station. To the north are Cripley Meadow and Fiddler's Island. To the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The bridge is close to Rewley Road Swing Bridge just to the east, an older and now disused swing bridge for the former Buckinghamshire Railway line of London and North Western Railway that used to serve the Oxford Rewley Road railway station. It is also close to Rewley Road Bridge to the east. Sheepwash channel links the River Thames with the Oxford Canal via Castle Mill Stream and Isis Lock.

St Sepulchre's Cemetery is a former cemetery located on Walton Street, Jericho, central Oxford, England. The cemetery was opened in 1848 as a cemetery for the Oxford parishes of St Giles, St Michael, and St Mary Magdalen, and the district chapelry of St Paul's Church (which included outlying parts of St Thomas's parish before St Barnabas' Church was built). The cemetery was created because all the other existing Oxford cemeteries were overcrowded after many hundreds of years of burials; two other cemeteries, Osney Cemetery and Holywell Cemetery, were also opened at the same time, to cater to the other eight Oxford parishes. In 1855, new burials were forbidden in all Oxford churchyards, with burials only to take place in existing vaults. However, this order seems to have been ignored; by 1887 the cemetery was supposedly so full that bones were littered between graves.The last new grave was dug in 1944, as St Sepulchre's finally stopped accepting new burials in 1945. The gatehouse lodge, which is owned by the city council, was let out to tenants, and the chapel was demolished in 1970. In 2004, St Sepulchre's was added to the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, and in 2005 the group "Friends of St Sepulchre's" was created to uphold the cemetery.The cemetery was formerly surrounded on two sides by the Eagle Ironworks, which shut down in 2005 and has since been replaced by apartments. The cemetery is listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

The Eagle Ironworks was an ironworks owned by W. Lucy & Co. on the Oxford Canal in Jericho, Oxford, England. William Carter founded the works in 1812 with a shop in the High Street and moved it to its site beside the canal in 1825. It was on Walton Well Road at the northern end of Walton Street and backed onto St Sepulchre's Cemetery. The works ceased production in 2005, was demolished in 2007 and has since been redeveloped, mainly with apartments.
