Rewley Road is in the west of central Oxford, England. It is located in St Thomas's parish.

Rewley Road Swing Bridge is a disused railway swing bridge over Sheepwash Channel in west Oxford, England. To the north are Cripley Meadow and Fiddler's Island and to the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The bridge was designed by Robert Stephenson and built in 1850–1. It was reconstructed in 1890 and 1906, latterly using steel girders. The bridge closed to passenger traffic in 1951 and to goods in 1984.

Sheepwash Channel connects the River Thames to the west and the Castle Mill Stream next to the Oxford Canal to the east (linked through Isis Lock), in west Oxford, England. To the north are Cripley Meadow (largely allotments) and Fiddler's Island. To the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The Cherwell Valley Line and Cotswold Line cross the channel just north of Oxford railway station on Sheepwash Channel Railway Bridge. Just to the east, there is Rewley Road Swing Bridge, a swing bridge for the former Buckinghamshire Railway line of London and North Western Railway, that used to serve the Oxford Rewley Road railway station, which was on the site of the Saïd Business School. Rewley Road Bridge also crosses Sheepwash Channel. The Isis Lock just to the north of the eastern end of Sheepwash Channel connects the Castle Mill Stream and the Oxford Canal, allowing access between the Oxford Canal and the River Thames via the channel for boats. At the western end is a footbridge over Sheepwash Channel, forming part of the Thames Path.

Sheepwash Channel Railway Bridge is a railway bridge over Sheepwash Channel in west Oxford, England, just north of Oxford railway station. To the north are Cripley Meadow and Fiddler's Island. To the south are Osney Island and the Botley Road. The bridge is close to Rewley Road Swing Bridge just to the east, an older and now disused swing bridge for the former Buckinghamshire Railway line of London and North Western Railway that used to serve the Oxford Rewley Road railway station. It is also close to Rewley Road Bridge to the east. Sheepwash channel links the River Thames with the Oxford Canal via Castle Mill Stream and Isis Lock.

St Barnabas Church is a Church of England parish church in Jericho, central Oxford, England, located close to the Oxford Canal.

Canal Street is a residential street in Jericho, an inner suburb of Oxford, England, northwest of the city centre. The annual Jericho Street Fair takes place in Canal Street, normally close to 11 June, the feast day of the patron saint Barnabas.

The Cistercian Abbey of Rewley was an abbey in Oxford, England. It was founded in the 13th century by Edmund, 2nd Earl of Cornwall. Edmund's father, Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall, founder of Hailes Abbey, had intended to establish a college or chantry of three secular priests to pray for his soul, but his son Edmund substituted 'six Cistercian monks, having more confidence in them'. If this was the original plan, it was soon enlarged. In 1280 he offered the general chapter of the Cistercian order to found a college (studium) for Cistercians at Oxford, and the chapter accepted the offer, and decreed that the college should have the same privileges as the college of St. Bernard at Paris, and that it should be under the Abbot of Thame, as the other was under the Abbot of Clairvaux. The following year the chapter decreed 'out of due respect to the Earl of Cornwall' that the Abbot of Thame should be empowered to appoint an Abbot of his own choice for the house of study at Oxford, and that there should be a daily memory of the late Earl of Cornwall at Mass at the college (studium) of Oxford, according as the Abbot of the place shall ordain.

Oxford railway station is a mainline railway station, one of two serving the city of Oxford, England. It is about 0.5 miles (800 m) west of the city centre, north-west of Frideswide Square and the eastern end of Botley Road. It is on the line for trains between London Paddington and Hereford via Worcester Shrub Hill. It is a starting point for fast and local trains to London Paddington and London Marylebone, and for local trains to Reading, Worcester (Shrub Hill and Foregate stations), and Banbury. It is also on the north/south Cross Country Route from Manchester Piccadilly and Newcastle via Birmingham New Street and Reading to Southampton Central and Bournemouth. The station is managed by Great Western Railway, and also served by CrossCountry and Chiltern Railways trains. Immediately to the north is Sheepwash Channel Railway Bridge over the Sheepwash Channel.

Oxford Rewley Road railway station was a railway station serving the city of Oxford, England, located immediately to the north of what is now Frideswide Square on the site of the Saïd Business School, to the west of Rewley Road. It was the terminus of the Buckinghamshire Railway, which was worked, and later absorbed, by the London and North Western Railway (L&NWR). In 1923 it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS), "Varsity Line" service from Cambridge via Bletchley and had features of significance in construction history.

Great Clarendon Street is one of the principal thoroughfares of the Jericho district of Oxford, England, an inner suburb northwest of the centre of the city. At the northeast end of the street is a junction with Walton Street. Opposite is Freud's, a cafe in the former St Paul's church building constructed in the classical style. To the south is the Oxford University Press, which also houses the Oxford University Press Museum. The southwest end of the street ends near the Oxford Canal, just past the junction with Canal Street. Many of the houses here were built in the first half of the 19th century. In the early 19th century, Grey Coat's (University) School was located here. The street was named in 1890–1. The street is named after the Clarendon Press (aka, the Oxford University Press) of Oxford University, which moved to Jericho in 1830. School Court is a stone building, former school and a Grade II listed building in the street. Originally the Boys' School for St Paul's parish, when St Barnabas parish was created in 1869, the building housed St Barnabas Boys' School and the St Paul's schoolboys moved to a new school building in nearby Juxon Street. In 1963, the school closed and children at St Barnabas moved to the new Cherwell School in North Oxford. 24 Great Clarendon Street is another Grade II listed building and former shop on the corner with Hart Street.

Jericho is an historic suburb of the English city of Oxford. It consists of the streets bounded by the Oxford Canal, Worcester College, Walton Street and Walton Well Road. Located outside the old city wall, it was originally a place for travellers to rest if they had reached the city after the gates had closed. The name Jericho may have been adopted to signify this 'remote place' outside the wall. As of February 2021, the population of Jericho and Osney wards was 6,995.

Frideswide Square is a square to the west of central Oxford, England. The square is named after the patron saint of Oxford, St Frideswide. The "square" is actually more of a tapered rectangle in shape. Immediately to the north, the modern Saïd Business School of Oxford University dominates the square, established in 1996 on the site of the former Oxford Rewley Road railway station. To the east are Hythe Bridge Street (A4144) and Park End Street, both leading into central Oxford. Between them is the Royal Oxford Hotel. To the south, Hollybush Row and then Oxpens Road (A4144 road) act as an inner ring road leading to Abingdon Road, the main arterial road south out of the city. On the corner with Hollybush Row is the old Frank Cooper's jam factory, now used as office space for Nuffield College and a restaurant. To the west, Botley Road (A420 road) leads out of the city centre, under a railway bridge just south of the main Oxford railway station, situated to the northwest. The square is a major traffic hub in Oxford and is often a bottleneck to traffic flow. Many buses stop in the square.In 2015, work began to transform the square from a congested area to a more attractive public space. The main phase of construction works started in February 2015 and continued until December 2015. The new design removes traffic lights from the square and makes use of shared spaces.
