Pioneer Race Course, also known as the Pioneer Race Track, was a horse race track opened in March 1851, in the southern Mission District of San Francisco, California.Pioneer was the first race course in San Francisco. At the time that it was built, no streets existed in the neighborhood. After construction, it appears to have been bounded by 24th St. (formerly Park St.), 26th St. (formerly Navy St.), Capp St., and Florida St.It was funded and built by local businessmen George Treat and his brother John Treat. The racetrack was physically built by Alfred Green.The race course was sold to the San Francisco Homestead Association in 1862 (or 1863) for $500 per acre, but would be worth $20,000 per acre within a decade. Lots within the property were auctioned in 1864. Early houses built within the property are now part of the Shotwell Street historic district, and another house within the property may be the oldest remaining home building in San Francisco.

The Havens Mansion and Carriage House is a historic residential building in the Mission District of San Francisco, California, United States. It was listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since 1981. It is a private residence and is not open to the public.

Dance Mission Theater is a nonprofit performance venue and dance school located in the Mission District of San Francisco, California.The theatre is operated by Dance Brigade, a female dance troupe with a focus on social change.The theatre, known for its dance classes and performance art, has been ranked one of the best dance studios in San Francisco, offering around 50 classes and hosting roughly 1,500 students a week. The theatre offers approximately 48 weeks of programming per year.The theatre has been located in its current space since 1998. In December 2014, the theatre announced that it might have to relocate after its landlord increased the theatre's rent. The theatre applied for assistance from the city Government of San Francisco.As of late 2019, the organization planned to move, with two other local non-profits, to a new building at 18th and Mission.

Balmy Alley (formally Balmy Street) is a one-block-long alley that is home to the most concentrated collection of murals in the city of San Francisco. It is located in the south central portion of the Inner Mission District between 24th Street and Garfield Square. Since 1973, most buildings on the street have been decorated with a mural.

Garfield Square, also known as Garfield Park, is a 3.46-acre (14,000 m2) city park located in the Mission District of San Francisco, California. It is bounded by 25th Street to the north, 26th Street to the south, Treat Avenue to the west, and Harrison Street to the east and was first opened in 1884. Previously the location of the Recreation Grounds baseball park which was the first professional baseball park in California, dating to 1868.It is a relaxed park with a turf for soccer games, playground, clubhouse, picnic areas suitable for family outings. Also, it has been the site for construction of the annual Day of the Dead shrines and celebration since 1986.Renovated in 2006, part of a private public partnership between the City of San Francisco and the non-profit City Fields Foundation, brainchild of Bill, John and Bob Fisher, the sons of Gap Inc. founder Donald Fisher.Location of an indoor public swimming pool, the walls of the building are decorated with Precita Eyes murals, the Primal Sea on the 26th Street side and a mural with Mayan and Aztec themes inspired by Diego Rivera on the Harrison Street side. Garfield Square is located immediately adjacent to Balmy Alley, which is famous for the decorations of murals.

Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (MCCLA) is an arts nonprofit that was founded in 1977, and is located at 2868 Mission Street in the Mission District in San Francisco, California. They provide art studio space, art classes, an art gallery, and a theater. Their graphics department is called Mission Grafica, and features at studio for printmaking and is known for the hand printed posters. The center's building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 29, 2020.

Valencia Street station was a railway station in San Francisco, California. It was located in the Mission District at 25th and Valencia Streets along the Ocean View Branch. It was the inaugural San Francisco terminal of the San Francisco and San Jose Railroad when the service began in 1863, though it would become a regular stop as the railroad was extended further north, closer to Downtown. The station building was constructed in 1866. Most regular services to Valencia Street ceased in 1903, though it temporarily regained its status as San Francisco's terminal station following the 1906 earthquake and fire. Market Street Railway streetcars additionally called along Valencia Street, offering local connections. The station building was demolished in 1931, replaced with a loading platform. After passenger operations ended, the commercial district surrounding the station dissolved as riders had made up the majority of the customer base. When Southern Pacific ceased all rail operations along the line, the right of way sold for residential housing.
