Pueblo Del Rio is a public housing project located in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles, California. The address of Pueblo Del Rio is 1801 East 53rd Street, which is near the intersection of 55th and Alameda streets.

Vernon station is an at-grade light rail station on the A Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located in the center median of Long Beach Avenue (the historic route of the Pacific Electric Railway, and shared with the Union Pacific freight railroad's Wilmington Subdivision) at its intersection with Vernon Avenue, in South Los Angeles, one-quarter mile (0.4 km) from the border with Vernon, California.Prior to the construction of the A Line, Vernon Avenue was an important junction on the lines of the Pacific Electric. Augustus F. Hawkins Park is a 8.5-acre (3.4 ha) public park south of downtown Los Angeles, California in the United States. The park includes a nature center and plantings donated by the Huntington Gardens in San Marino. Full-size oak trees were trucked to the site from Ramona. Plantings native to California are prioritized, including sycamores and willows adjacent to the constructed wetland.The park attracts up to 5,000 visitors a week from the surrounding highly diverse neighborhood. Community and educational programs are hosted in the nature center. A park ranger lives on site.The park was built in 2000 at a cost of $4.5 million. The location had previously been a municipal storage yard classified as a brownfield. The land was formerly fenced off with barbed wire, which has been replaced by stone walls and hand-made artistic metal gates. The land is on long-term lease from the LADWP.

The Prince Hall Masonic Temple in South Los Angeles area of Los Angeles, California is a historic club building associated with Prince Hall Freemasonry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The structure, built in 1926, is a two-story masonry building which has been described as "very simple in design and almost appears to be commercial in use." The building was established as the Los Angeles branch of Prince Hall Freemasonry, a tradition of separate, predominantly African-American, Freemasonry in North America. The building was deemed to satisfy the registration requirement for club buildings set forth in a multiple property submission study, the African Americans in Los Angeles MPS. The building was deemed significant as one of two remaining Los Angeles club buildings founded by and for African Americans.Other sites listed pursuant to the same African Americans in Los Angeles MPS include the Angelus Funeral Home, Lincoln Theater, Second Baptist Church, 28th Street YMCA, 52nd Place Historic District, 27th Street Historic District, and two historic all-black segregated fire stations (Fire Station No. 14 and Fire Station No. 30).

Hawkins Natural Park, which was recently built in a highly urbanized area of south LA. The park itself is named after former Congressman Augustus Freeman "Gus" Hawkins. This corrupted name is recognized on an information pass-through basis by a variety of government agencies, including state agencies such as the Southern California Air Quality Management District and the Medical Board of California, and the federal government.The name is also widely used in commercial databases.

The Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Building was built in 1928 and for many years housed one of Los Angeles's most successful African American-owned businesses, the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company. The building is located in the heart of the city's Central Avenue commercial district that was a center of the jazz world in the 1930s and 1940s. The two-story building was designed by architect James H. Garrott and constructed by Louis Blodgett (both African Americans) in the Mission Revival style. The company occupied the second floor, while the first floor was rented out to local merchants. The noted Dunbar Hotel is located on the next block to the north. In 1949, the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company moved to its new headquarters at 1999 West Adams, now also an historic building. The structure was later converted into a child development center known as the Dunbar Child Development Center. In 1998, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Slauson station is an elevated light rail station on the A Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located within the historic right-of-way of the Pacific Electric Railway and elevated over the intersection of Slauson Avenue, after which the station is named, in the unincorporated Los Angeles County community of Florence.The station is on a long viaduct that carries the A Line over the Union Pacific freight railroad's Wilmington Subdivision and its junction with the La Habra Subdivision. A J Line station with an identical name is located approximately 2.1 miles (3.4 km) west of the station. Passengers may use Los Angeles Metro Bus route 108 to travel between the two stations. This station will be the eastern trailhead of the Rail-to-Rail Route bike path.

Thomas Jefferson High School, usually referred to as Jefferson High School, is a public high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Founded in 1916, it is the fourth oldest high school in the school district. Located in South Los Angeles, its surrounding communities are Downtown, Central-Alameda, Florence, Historic South-Central and South Park. Jefferson's school colors are kelly green and gold and the sports teams are called the Democrats, or Demos for short. In 2006, a pilot program called New Tech: Student Empowerment Academy began in the northeast portion of the school. New Tech has since become a separate charter school housed in the Jefferson building. In 2016 New Tech closed down and the available space is now used by Nava College Preparatory Academy a pilot school that was established in 2014.

The Dunbar Hotel, originally known as the Hotel Somerville, was the focal point of the Central Avenue African-American community in Los Angeles, California, during the 1930s and 1940s. Built in 1928 by John Alexander Somerville, it was known for its first year as the Hotel Somerville. Upon its opening, it hosted the first national convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to be held in the western United States. In 1930, the hotel was renamed the Dunbar, and it became the most prestigious hotel in LA's African-American community. In the early 1930s, a nightclub opened at the Dunbar, and it became the center of the Central Avenue jazz scene in the 1930s and 1940s. The Dunbar hosted Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, Lena Horne, and many other jazz legends. Other noteworthy people who stayed at the Dunbar include W. E. B. Du Bois, Joe Louis, Ray Charles, and Thurgood Marshall. Former heavyweight champion Jack Johnson also ran a nightclub at the Dunbar in the 1930s. No longer a hotel, the building was renovated in the 2010s and is now part of a larger residential community named Dunbar Village.

Ralph J. Bunche House, also known as the Ralph Bunche Peace & Heritage Center and located in South Los Angeles, United States, was the Victorian-Bungalow style boyhood home of Nobel Peace Prize winner Ralph Bunche. It was declared a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 159) by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission in 1976, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Mary Bethune Park is a public park located in South Los Angeles, California. The park is located at 1244 East 61st Street, near the intersection of Central and Gage Avenues. It is managed by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation. The Newton Division of the Los Angeles Police Department is responsible for law enforcement in Bethune Park. Bethune Park is named in honor of Mary Jane McLeod Bethune, who was an African-American political activist, education reformer, and advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
