Island Grove Park is a municipal park of the town of Abington, Massachusetts, United States. It consists of a 17-acre (6.9 ha) parcel of land whose principal feature is a peninsula jutting into Island Grove Pond, a 35-acre (14 ha) body of water which was created by impounding the Shumatuscacant River in c. 1700. The area has a significant history, first as an industrial site, then as an amusement park, before it became the wooded park it is now. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 as the Island Grove Park National Register District.

The Indian Head River rises on the southern boundary of Hanover, Massachusetts and northern boundary line of Hanson, Massachusetts at the intersection of tributaries from Drinkwater River in Hanover and Indian Head Brook in Hanson. The river then flows east along the Hanover-Pembroke border. The river, 3.7 miles (6.0 km) long, is a tributary of the North River, which flows into Massachusetts Bay. The Indian Head River was an important fishing and water pathway for the Massachuset Indian village of Mattakeeset which was located around the Pembroke Ponds.

Hanover High School is a public school located in Hanover, Massachusetts, United States. It encompasses grades 9–12. Hanover High is a continuation for Hanover Middle School, and before that either Center School or Cedar School. The original Hanover High School building was opened in 1958. The first graduating class was 1959. Sylvester School formerly served as the high school. The current Hanover High School building was opened in 2011.Hanover's colors are blue and gold, and their mascot is the Hawks. Until 2021, HHS's mascot was the Indians, and was changed to the Hawks, thanks to a contest that won against 400 submissions. After another contest, the name "Sylvester" was chosen to be the name of the Hanover Hawk mascot. The name Sylvester goes back to Edmund Q. Sylvester, a prominent resident of Hanover during the later half of the 1800s. The Sylvester family owned land around the old Hanover shipyards, and had their own farm as well. The Stetson House is a historic house at Hanover Street in Hanover, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story frame house was built c. 1694 by Samuel "Drummer" Stetson and was occupied by the Stetson family until at least the 1860s. During the 19th century the family opened the house for religious services after the church burned down.

The Hanover Center Historic District encompasses the historic town center of Hanover, Massachusetts. Established in 1721, the town center includes the town hall, library, and church, as well as its first cemetery and the c. 1700 Stetson House, one of its oldest buildings. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Hanson is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. Part of Greater Boston, Hanson is located 20 miles (32 km) south of Boston and is one of the inland towns of the South Shore. The population was 10,639 at the 2020 census.

Wampatuck Pond is a 64-acre (260,000 m2) pond in Hanson, Massachusetts. Indian Head Brook both flows in and out of the pond. Along the northern shore of the pond are the Routes 14 and 58 concurrency, Hanson's Town Hall, and a small park. Kings Landing way is adjacent from fern hill cemetery opposite the pond. Native American burial site sits next to a man made pond on 34 and 54 kings landing way plots. Cranberry bogs on Main Street abut the town forest and southern side river ways to the pond.Access to the pond includes a concrete ramp behind the Hanson town hall managed by the Town of Hanson suitable for three trailers and six cars. The water quality is toxic and impaired due to noxious aquatic plants.

South Shore Vocational Technical High School is a public high school located in Hanover, Massachusetts, United States. The school serves about 600 students in grades 9 to 12. The schools district code is 08730000. The school itself is located near the Hanover/Norwell village of Assinippi, as it educates students from the towns of Hanover, Norwell, Scituate, Hanson, Pembroke, Rockland, Whitman, Abington, and other Plymouth County towns.

The Rockland Almshouse is a historic almshouse at 198 Spring Street in Rockland, Massachusetts. The large 2+1⁄2-story L-shaped building was built in 1876, and served as a communal poor house until 1979. It is a rare well-preserved example of a 19th-century almshouse. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is currently used as an educational facility.

Maquan Pond is a 48-acre (190,000 m2) pond in Hanson, Massachusetts. Its average depth is 12 feet (3.7 m) and its maximum depth is 18 feet (5.5 m). The pond is spring fed with an overflow on the south end that feeds into Indian Head Pond. There has been much development along the shore. The town has a right-of-way on the northern shore of the pond off Maquan Street (Route 14). The town beach Cranberry Cove is at south end of the pond. The water is acidic, so fishing is poor except for pickerel, small yellow perch and pumpkinseeds. Camp Kiwanee, a former Camp Fire camp, is located on the southeastern shore of the pond. The town now owns the camp and rents camping and cabins as well as Needles Lodge for functions. The Rainbow Girls own land on the southwest shore and previously operated a summer camp there.

Camp Kiwanee is a summer camp and function facility at 1 Camp Kiwanee Road in Hanson, Massachusetts. The core of the property is a summer estate called "The Needles" which was built by industrialist Albert Cameron Burrage between 1899 and 1905. This property was purchased by the Boston chapter of the Camp Fire Girls, and adapted for use as a girls' summer camp. From the 1930s to the 1950s a series of recreational facilities was constructed, and the camp was enlarged by the purchase of adjacent properties. The Town of Hanson purchased the camp from the Camp Fire Girls in 1979, and continues to operate it as a campground and function facility.The camp was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
