Long View was started in 1994 as an educational option within Jefferson County Public Schools. It is designed to serve high school students, grades 10–12, whose needs are not being met by traditional, comprehensive high schools.

The mall re-opened on November 21, 2017, and now features a new modern look.

On April 25, 2019, a deadly traffic collision occurred on Interstate 70 near Lakewood, Colorado, United States, when a semi-trailer truck's brakes allegedly malfunctioned, causing the truck to crash into 12 cars and three other semi-trailer trucks, resulting in multiple fires and explosions, killing four people. The truck was driven by Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos, who was later convicted of vehicular homicide.

The Mountain Plains Library Association (MPLA) is a non-profit organization based in the western United States that promotes the development of librarians and libraries by providing educational and networking opportunities to members. Camp George West Historic District or Camp George West (also known as State Rifle Range;5JF145) was a military base for the Colorado National Guard, located at 15000 S. Golden Rd., Golden, Colorado. It was used as a rifle range, while artillery practice took place on Green Mountain, on the north side of present-day Hayden Park near Lakewood, Colorado. The Department of Defense Military Munitions Response Program has financed investigations to identify unexploded ordnance there since 2012.Camp George West is now used as a correctional facility, police training academy, and emergency operations center. It contains an Ammunition Igloo, a bunker used for arms storage, and Colorado Amphitheater, both of which are vacant. The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, with the Ammunition Igloo and the Amphitheater listed separately.

Federal Center is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located near the intersection of West 2nd Place and Routt Street, on the grounds of the Denver Federal Center, after which the station is named, in Lakewood, Colorado.The station opened on April 26, 2013, on the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area.The station has a large multi-gate bus transfer plaza served by several RTD Bus and Bustang routes and a 1,000 space park and ride lot.

Ammunition Igloo (also known as Building 88) was a bunker used for arms storage at Camp George West, Golden, Colorado. It was built in 1940 of stone, supported by a soil-covered concrete arch. Rubble masonry, built of basalt, was used for the parapet-equipped facade.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
