On April 25, 2019, a deadly traffic collision occurred on Interstate 70 near Lakewood, Colorado, United States, when a semi-trailer truck's brakes allegedly malfunctioned, causing the truck to crash into 12 cars and three other semi-trailer trucks, resulting in multiple fires and explosions, killing four people. The truck was driven by Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos, who was later convicted of vehicular homicide.

The mall has over 180 stores, many of which are outlet locations, as well as many locally owned and operated stores and a large variety of kiosks.Walking one full circuit around the mall's main promenade is almost a mile and has a large following of "mall walkers."On May 8, 2017, the mall was severely damaged by a hailstorm and closed for six months. The mall re-opened on November 21, 2017, and now features a new modern look.

Jefferson County School District R-1 (a.k.a. Jefferson County Public Schools or Jeffco Public Schools) is a school district in Jefferson County, Colorado. The district is headquartered at the Jeffco Public Schools Education Center in West Pleasant View, an unincorporated area of the county near Golden in the Denver metropolitan area. Jeffco Public Schools serves almost 81,000 students in 166 schools. It is the second-largest school district in Colorado, having been surpassed in 2013 by Denver Public Schools, which has an enrollment of approximately 81,000. The district covers the entirety of Jefferson County, and also includes a section of Broomfield.

The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the East Pleasant View CDP was 333 at the United States Census 2020. Red Rocks College is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located alongside 6th Avenue at its intersection with Arbutus Drive in Lakewood, Colorado. The station is located approximately 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) to the north of the Red Rocks Community College campus, after which the station is named. The station opened on April 26, 2013, on the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area.The station has received criticism for being "convenient to nothing" as the Red Rocks College campus is uphill from the station, with the only walkway along a meandering street. Other than the college, the land around the station has seen little development. The station also has no park and ride lot and no pedestrian bridge across the 6th Avenue Freeway.It is the least used station on the RTD's Light Rail system.

Camp George West Historic District or Camp George West (also known as State Rifle Range;5JF145) was a military base for the Colorado National Guard, located at 15000 S. Golden Rd., Golden, Colorado. It was used as a rifle range, while artillery practice took place on Green Mountain, on the north side of present-day Hayden Park near Lakewood, Colorado. The Department of Defense Military Munitions Response Program has financed investigations to identify unexploded ordnance there since 2012.Camp George West is now used as a correctional facility, police training academy, and emergency operations center. It contains an Ammunition Igloo, a bunker used for arms storage, and Colorado Amphitheater, both of which are vacant. The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, with the Ammunition Igloo and the Amphitheater listed separately.

Ammunition Igloo (also known as Building 88) was a bunker used for arms storage at Camp George West, Golden, Colorado. It was built in 1940 of stone, supported by a soil-covered concrete arch. Rubble masonry, built of basalt, was used for the parapet-equipped facade.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Colorado Amphitheater (Zypher Amphitheater), also known as Structure #41, is a natural stone amphitheater built in 1935 to serve Camp George West of the Colorado National Guard. It is located near the base of South Table Mountain, a mesa located just east of Golden, Colorado. Built under the auspices of commander Neil West Kimball, grandson of the general for whom the camp was named, it was constructed as a project of the Works Progress Administration. One of its primary uses in operation was to show films to the Guard troops. However, the amphitheater fell into disuse when rattlesnakes became too plentiful for comfort. The amphitheater later came into ownership by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Long View High School, located in Lakewood, Colorado, United States, is a small alternative Jefferson County public school, the smallest comprehensive public school in the Denver metropolitan area. Long View was started in 1994 as an educational option within Jefferson County Public Schools. It is designed to serve high school students, grades 10–12, whose needs are not being met by traditional, comprehensive high schools.
