Ammunition Igloo

The Colorado Amphitheater (Zypher Amphitheater), also known as Structure #41, is a natural stone amphitheater built in 1935 to serve Camp George West of the Colorado National Guard. It is located near the base of South Table Mountain, a mesa located just east of Golden, Colorado. Built under the auspices of commander Neil West Kimball, grandson of the general for whom the camp was named, it was constructed as a project of the Works Progress Administration. One of its primary uses in operation was to show films to the Guard troops. However, the amphitheater fell into disuse when rattlesnakes became too plentiful for comfort. The amphitheater later came into ownership by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Camp George West Historic District or Camp George West (also known as State Rifle Range;5JF145) was a military base for the Colorado National Guard, located at 15000 S. Golden Rd., Golden, Colorado. It was used as a rifle range, while artillery practice took place on Green Mountain, on the north side of present-day Hayden Park near Lakewood, Colorado. The Department of Defense Military Munitions Response Program has financed investigations to identify unexploded ordnance there since 2012.Camp George West is now used as a correctional facility, police training academy, and emergency operations center. It contains an Ammunition Igloo, a bunker used for arms storage, and Colorado Amphitheater, both of which are vacant. The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, with the Ammunition Igloo and the Amphitheater listed separately.

Jefferson County School District R-1 (a.k.a. Jefferson County Public Schools or Jeffco Public Schools) is a school district in Jefferson County, Colorado. The district is headquartered at the Jeffco Public Schools Education Center in West Pleasant View, an unincorporated area of the county near Golden in the Denver metropolitan area. Jeffco Public Schools serves almost 81,000 students in 166 schools. It is the second-largest school district in Colorado, having been surpassed in 2013 by Denver Public Schools, which has an enrollment of approximately 81,000. The district covers the entirety of Jefferson County, and also includes a section of Broomfield.

The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the West Pleasant View CDP was 4,327 at the United States Census 2020. The Pleasant View Metropolitan District provides services. The Golden post office (Zip code 80401) serves the area.

On April 25, 2019, a deadly traffic collision occurred on Interstate 70 near Lakewood, Colorado, United States, when a semi-trailer truck's brakes allegedly malfunctioned, causing the truck to crash into 12 cars and three other semi-trailer trucks, resulting in multiple fires and explosions, killing four people. The truck was driven by Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos, who was later convicted of vehicular homicide.

Colorado Mills is a 1,411,627 sq ft (131,000 m2) outlet shopping mall in Lakewood, Colorado. The mall has 12 anchor stores, including Nike Factory Outlet, Target, Burlington, Dick's Sporting Goods, H&M, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, United Artist Theater & IMAX, and Forever 21. It also has a variety of fast food restaurants, fast casual dining, and dine-in restaurants, including Yard House, Qdoba Mexican Eats, and Cinnabon. The mall has over 180 stores, many of which are outlet locations, as well as many locally owned and operated stores and a large variety of kiosks.Walking one full circuit around the mall's main promenade is almost a mile and has a large following of "mall walkers."On May 8, 2017, the mall was severely damaged by a hailstorm and closed for six months. The mall re-opened on November 21, 2017, and now features a new modern look.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the US specializes in the research and development of renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy systems integration, and sustainable transportation. NREL is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the Department of Energy and operated by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, a joint venture between MRIGlobal and Battelle. Located in Golden, Colorado, NREL is home to the National Center for Photovoltaics, the National Bioenergy Center, and the National Wind Technology Center.

Red Rocks College is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located alongside 6th Avenue at its intersection with Arbutus Drive in Lakewood, Colorado. The station is located approximately 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) to the north of the Red Rocks Community College campus, after which the station is named. The station opened on April 26, 2013, on the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area.The station has received criticism for being "convenient to nothing" as the Red Rocks College campus is uphill from the station, with the only walkway along a meandering street. Other than the college, the land around the station has seen little development. The station also has no park and ride lot and no pedestrian bridge across the 6th Avenue Freeway.It is the least used station on the RTD's Light Rail system.

The Jefferson County Government Center, is a consolidation of numerous governmental departments for Jefferson County, Colorado. Located in Golden, Colorado, the 531,000-square-foot (49,300 m2) contains a judicial wing of 304,000 square feet (28,200 m2) and an administrative wing, joined by the central lobby atrium, of 227,000 square feet (21,100 m2). The government center opened in 1993.Concealed either underground or by landscaping, the government center’s two-story parking structure holds 1,400 vehicles and serves both wings. In addition, a 15,000-square-foot (1,400 m2) tunnel and central holding facility connects the judicial building to a pre-existing detention center.

Jefferson County Government Center–Golden station (sometimes stylized and abbreviated as JeffCo Gov't Cntr•Golden) is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Johnson Road, on grounds of the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden, Colorado, after which the station is named.The station opened on April 26, 2013, as the western terminus of the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area.Jefferson County Government Center–Golden station has a 705 space park and ride garage and a bus stop served by the Golden FlexRide, a demand-responsive transport service operated by RTD Bus, serving the city of Golden. The station also has bicycle parking racks, lockers and a connection to the 6th Avenue Trail, a multi-use trail that runs along U.S. Route 6.
