Watson Glacier

Mount Watson is a 6,220-foot-elevation (1,900-meter) summit located in the North Cascades, in Whatcom County of Washington state.

The Noisy-Diobsud Wilderness is a relatively small wilderness area in northwestern Washington state adjacent to North Cascades National Park. Created in 1984, the Noisy-Diobsud contains 14,100 acres (57 km2) of steep valleys, subalpine lakes, and the summits of Anderson Butte and Mount Watson. It is part of Mount Baker National Forest. The only maintained trail enters the west side of the wilderness from the Anderson Lakes road above Baker Lake.

Baker Lake is a lake in northern Washington state in the United States. The lake is situated in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Baker River valley southwest of North Cascades National Park and is fed by the Baker River along with numerous smaller tributaries. The lake is approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of the town of Concrete, Washington. The lake covers an area of 4,800 acres (19 km2) and holds up to 285,000 acre-feet (352,000,000 m3) of water. Water levels fluctuate an average of 39 feet (12 m) annually. Formerly a smaller natural body of water, it was enlarged and raised 312 feet (95 m) in 1959 in conjunction with the construction of the Upper Baker Dam, a concrete gravity hydroelectric dam capable of generating 91 megawatts. Baker Lake is a popular recreational area for fishing, camping, and boating and attracts local residents from adjacent Whatcom and Skagit counties. The Baker Lake area is also home to Swift Creek Campground which features 55 private campsites for tents or RVs, 2 group site as well as a boat ramp and marina. The campground can be found about halfway up on Mt. Baker Lake across from Park Creek. Formerly known as Baker Lake Resort and Tarr's Resort before that. It lies entirely within Mount Baker National Recreation Area.

Swift Creek is a southward-flowing tributary of the Baker River, about 7 miles (11 km) long, in Whatcom County in the U.S. state of Washington. It rises in glaciers near Table Mountain, Mount Ann, and Kulshan Ridge, and flows west before being joined by more glacial tributaries. It then winds south-southeast for several miles to Baker Lake reservoir, and there it is joined by Morovitz Creek directly before it enters the lake. Park Creek is a small east-flowing stream that enters Baker Lake very near Swift Creek, but should not be confused as a tributary with it. NFD 11 (Baker Lake Road) crosses the creek near its mouth, which is just downstream of Shannon Creek.

Upper Baker Dam is a dam spanning the Baker River in northern Washington in the United States of America. It is one of two dams on the river, the other one being the Lower Baker Dam a few miles downstream. The dam is used to generate hydroelectricity and provide flood control.Construction of the dam was finished in 1959 by Puget Sound Energy as part of a power generating scheme, the Baker River Hydroelectric Project. The dam is a concrete gravity structure 312 feet (95 m) high and 1,200 feet (370 m) long, and is capable of producing 91 MW. Its reservoir stretches 9 miles (14 km) upstream and contains 285,000 acre-feet (352,000,000 m3) of water.

Sauk Mountain (Lushootseed: dxʷgʷiʔt) is a 5,541-foot (1,689-metre) mountain summit located in Skagit County of Washington state. It is situated immediately north of Rockport State Park and the North Cascades Highway, on land managed by the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Sauk Mountain is positioned west of the crest of the North Cascades Range, approximately nine miles east of Concrete, Washington, and 17 miles north of the town of Darrington. Its nearest higher peak is Helen Buttes, 5.86 miles (9.43 km) to the northeast. A popular two-mile trail provides hikers with good views from the craggy summit of Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, Mount Chaval, and the Picket Range. Precipitation runoff from Sauk Mountain drains into tributaries of the Skagit River. The mountain's name, "Sauk" comes from its position immediately north of the confluence of the Sauk River with the Skagit River, which in turn comes from the Sauk people, a people indigenous to the Sauk River area. The name for the mountain in their language, Lushootseed, is dxʷgʷiʔt.

The Koma Kulshan Project is a 13.3 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric generation facility on the slopes of Mount Baker, a stratovolcano in Washington state's North Cascades. The project commenced commercial operation in October 1990, and is owned by a Covanta Energy–Atlantic Power joint venture. It supplies Puget Sound Energy via a Power Supply Agreement (PSA) contract. Its single turbine is a Pelton wheel supplied by Sulzer Escher Wyss.Located in the Mount Baker National Forest, it is one of six Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)-licensed small hydro installations on Federal Government land in Washington state.Koma Kulshan is the name of Mount Baker in the Lummi dialect.: 241 

Sulphide Lake is located in North Cascades National Park, in the U. S. state of Washington. Sulphide Lake lies in a cirque on the southeast slopes of Mount Shuksan. Several major cascades drop as much as 1,000 ft (300 m) into Sulphide Lake including Sulphide Basin Falls which is from melt off the Sulphide Glacier. After Sulphide Creek drains from Sulphide lake, it then plunges at least 2,000 ft (610 m) over a series of cascades called Sulphide Creek Falls, which is one of the tallest waterfalls in the U.S.The lake is in a basin with near vertical walls and the rock is phyllite and greenschist. Above the lake on the cliffs below Crystal Glacier a 0.3 mile wide band stained red in color (from iron oxide) is exposed that runs for about 2.5 miles. This band is rich in the iron sulfides pyrite and pyrrhotite. Presumably this is the source of the lake's name.

Sulphide Glacier is in North Cascades National Park in the U.S. state of Washington, on the south slopes of Mount Shuksan. Descending 1.85 mi (2.98 km) from the summit tower of Mount Shuksan, it is connected to Crystal Glacier to the east. Sulphide Glacier descends from 8,600 to 5,600 ft (2,600 to 1,700 m). Sulphide Glacier is along the route taken when Mount Shuksan was first climbed in 1906. Both Sulphide and Crystal Glaciers have a series of 300-to-1,000-foot (91 to 305 m) high cascades which are collectively referred to as Sulphide Basin Falls. Below these cascades lies Sulphide Lake, which empties over Sulphide Creek Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in North America with a nearly 2,200 ft (670 m) drop.

Illabot Creek is a designated National Wild and Scenic River in Northern Washington which provides a spawning and rearing habitat for summer and fall chinook, coho, chum and pink salmon; as well as steelhead and bull trout. The creek is in the Skagit River watershed. Puget Sound Chinook, steelhead and bull trout are listed under the Endangered Species Act. Illabot Creek also supports the highest density of chum and pink salmon in the Skagit River watershed. The creek area also provides habitat for wintering bald eagles that are attracted to the salmon, part of one of the largest concentration of wintering bald eagles in the continental United States.The creek is generally managed by the U.S. Forest Service, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest with a protected length of 14.3 miles (23.0 km) and as a reported area of 2.15 square miles (5.6 km2). A 2018 project invested $4.4 million in restoration of fish habitat along the creek. The National Wild and Scenic Rivers protection was authorized by Congress in December 2014.Illabot Creek begins at the 7,500 feet elevation in the Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest and enters the Skagit River in Rockport, Washington. 262 acres (106 ha) of property around the creek was acquired in 2017 by The Nature Conservancy and placed in the Skagit Land Trust.

Crystal Glacier is in North Cascades National Park in the U.S. state of Washington, on the south slopes of Mount Shuksan. Descending 1.25 mi (2.01 km) from just east of the summit of Mount Shuksan, near its origination point, Crystal Glacier is connected to the larger Sulphide Glacier to the west. Crystal Glacier descends from 8,200 to 5,800 ft (2,500 to 1,800 m), and is also connected to East Nooksack Glacier as well as Hanging Glacier near it uppermost margins. Both Crystal and Sulphide Glaciers have a series of 300-to-1,000-foot (91 to 305 m) high cascades which are collectively referred to as Sulphide Basin Falls. Below these cascades lies Sulphide Lake, which empties over Sulphide Creek Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in North America with a nearly 2,200 ft (670 m) drop.
