Ampelokipoi–Menemeni (Greek: Αμπελόκηποι-Μενεμένη) is a municipality of the Thessaloniki Urban Area in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. The seat of the municipality is in Ampelokipoi.

The Water Supply Museum is a museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is located in the Sfageion area near the city's western entry point. The museum began operating in February 2001. It is housed in the historical building known as the Old Pump House belonging to the Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewage Company (EYATh). This building was constructed between 1890 and 1892 by a Belgian company, as part of the campaign to modernize Thessaloniki, along with other construction projects like the railways and the gasworks, and later on the electricity company and the tram network. The museum aims to inform the public about the history of supplying water to Thessaloniki, to demonstrate the various stages in supplying a city with water, from water catchment to water consumption, and make the public aware of issues like reducing water wastage, so that they develop environmental sensitivities, especially as far as protecting the environment and water resources is concerned. The museum has two halls where motor-machinery and electricity generators, old electricity circuit switchboards and huge pumping units are on display. The first one used to be the boiler room and had two steam-powered units which were used to pump water from 1892 until 1929. In this hall there is a detailed display showing how steam was produced to drive the steam engines in the pump house. In the second hall are the pumps, the first and second generation diesel engines (MAN and MIRRLEES respectively), and the BRUSH electricity generators, which were used to irrigate Thessaloniki until 1978. All the machinery is authentic, has been maintained and is in good working order. In fact, one of the machines is open at the side so that visitors can see what happens inside it when it is working. In the rest of the building there are displays of old components, measuring instruments for the water-supply network and tools used by repair teams.

The Old Thessaloniki Railway Station (Greek: Παλαιός Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Θεσσαλονίκης, romanized: Stathmos Peloponnisou) was a station on the Chemins de fer Orientaux (or CO) line in Thessaloniki. It was located near the port on Old Station Street (new western entrance) at its junction with Voutyras Stavrou Street.

The railway from Thessaloniki to Bitola is a 219 kilometres (136 mi) long railway line, that connects the port city Thessaloniki in Greece with Bitola in the Republic of North Macedonia, via Veroia, Edessa, Amyntaio and Florina. The line was opened in 1894 under the name "Société du Chemin de Fer ottoman Salonique-Monastir", when the area was part of the Ottoman Empire. The section between the international border and Bitola is not used anymore, and as of 2013 passenger services are restricted to the section between Thessaloniki and Florina. The easternmost section of the line, Platy–Thessaloniki, is part of the important connection towards Athens and Northern Greece.

The Thessaloniki–Alexandroupoli railway is an about 440 km long railway in northern Greece connecting the Central Macedonian city of Thessaloniki with Alexandroupoli in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, via Serres. There is a connection towards Sofia at the Strymonas station. This railway was built in 1896 by The Compagnie du Chemin de Fer Ottoman Jonction Salonique-Constantinople (JSC). As of 2019, there is regular passenger service twice-daily to Alexandroupoli with connecting services to Dikaia, as well as international services to Sofia, to Belgrade via Skopje. The international service to Istanbul ("Friendship Express") (as of 2023) remains suspended.

The Strymon-Kulata railway is a 17.5-kilometre-long (10.9 mi) railway line that connects the village of Strymon in Greece with Kulata in Bulgaria. The line unites three villages on opposite sides of the border, Strymon and Promachonas in Serres, Greece, and Kulata in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, and is entrance/exit to the Greek rail network from Bulgaria.

The New Thessaloniki Railway Station (Greek: Νέος Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Θεσσαλονίκης, Neos Sidirodromikos Stathmos Thessalonikis) is the main central passenger railway station and terminal of Thessaloniki, Greece’s second city. It is located in the central quarter of Xirokrini on Monastiriou Street and was inaugurated on 12 June 1961, the passenger station replaced the older and much smaller passenger station which now handles the city's cargo rail, hence the name "new railway station" which has been retained.As of 2020, long-distance trains from New Thessaloniki Railway Station are run by TrainOSE to Athens, Alexandroupoli, Larissa, and Florina; other long-distance operators include. Bulgarian Railways, Serbian Railways and Makedonski Železnici, to Sofia, Belgrade and Skopje railway station respectively. In addition, Proastiakos Thessaloniki runs suburban commuter trains in and around Thessaly and Western Macedonia. Although largely unchanged since the 1960s, it remains the largest and busiest railway station built in Greece and one of the country's most important works of modern architecture. A metro station is currently also under construction at the station, to connect the New Thessaloniki Railway Station with the city’s new Metro system.

Neos Sidirodromikos Stathmos (Greek: Νέος Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός, literally New Railway Station, abbreviated on maps as N. Sid. Stathmos) is an under-construction metro station at the New Thessaloniki Railway Station, serving Thessaloniki Metro's Line 1 and Line 2. It will serve as the western terminus of both lines and is expected to enter service in 2023. Construction of this station has been held back by major archaeological finds, and it is designated as a mid-importance archaeological site by Attiko Metro, the company overseeing its construction.The oldest proposal for a metro station at this location goes back to 1918, when it was proposed as a terminus for a Metropolitan Railway line essentially running the same route as the current Line 1. Neos Sidirodromikos Stathmos was also the terminus for the 1988 Thessaloniki Metro proposal.

Intercity Bus Station of Thessaloniki "Macedonia", also known as the KTEL Macedonia Intercity Bus station, is the main bus station of Thessaloniki, Greece and the largest bus terminal in Greece. It is located just 5km from the city center in Menemeni. Construction began in October 1996 and it was opened to the public in September 2002. It serves about 20 to 25 thousand passengers and 800 coaches departures per day to various cities all over Greece, as well as some routes to Albania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Germany and Turkey. It is connected with the rest of the city via OASTH, which operates about 120 buses per hour. The company, which operates the buses and owns the station is named KTEL. This terminal serves 40 KTEL (the bus companies in Greece for each province) routes, as well as some other bus lines internationally.

The Port of Thessaloniki (Greek: Λιμάνι της Θεσσαλονίκης) is one of the largest seaports in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is considered the gateway Port to the Balkans and South East Europe, located in Macedonia, Greece close to the major Trans-European motorway and railway networks with direct access to the Southeastern European countries. The port is operated by ThPA S.A. which is listed on the Athens Exchange since 2001, is authorized with AEO license and handles containers, conventional cargo, operates the free zone of the Port, offers intermodal rail services as well as serves passenger traffic through cruise and ferry. Following the privatization process, 67% of the Company’s share capital was transferred to South Europe Gateway Thessaloniki (SEGT) Ltd on March 23, 2018. SEGT Ltd. consists of "Deutsche Invest Equity Partners GmbH" (47%), "Terminal Link SAS" (33%) and "Belterra Investments Ltd." (20%). The Greek State, via HRADF, retains a stake of 7.27% of ThPA S.A. and the remaining 25.73% is free float. On June 4, 2021, the shareholding structure of SEGT Ltd. was changed since shareholder “Belterra Investments Ltd.” purchased the entire share of "Deutsche Invest Equity Partners GmbH", therefore owning 67% and consequently becoming the controlling shareholder of SEGT Ltd. 7 December 2021 Belterra, Interests Ivan Savvidis, purchased a 299,855 shares of ThPS, with an acquisition price of 26 euros per share. Before this acquisition, Belterra has already taken 189,447 shares that accounted for 1.88% of the total paid-up share capital of the Company. Following the above acquisition, the total number of shares and equal voting rights of the company directly owned by Belterra is 489,332 and corresponds to 4.85% of its share capital.Therefore, the total number of shares and the equivalent voting rights of the OPTRERRA, both directly and indirectly - through its direct participation in SEGT (which holds 67% of the shares and voting rights of the GACH) - amounts to 7,242 .932, which accounts for 71.85% of its share capital, from 68.88%, held before the transaction described.

MOMus Modern, in full MOMus–Museum of Modern Art–Costakis Collection (Greek: MOMus-Μουσείο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης-Συλλογή Κωστάκη), is a modern art museum based in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is housed in the renovated building of the old Lazariston Monastery in the Borough of Stavroupoli in west Thessaloniki. It was formerly known as the State Museum of Contemporary Art (SMCA, Greek: Κρατικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, ΚΜΣΤ).

Neapoli (Greek: Νεάπολη) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Neapoli-Sykies, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit population is 27,084 (2011 census), while its land area is only 1.168 km2 (0.45 sq mi), with a resulting population density of 23,188/km2 (60,060/sq mi), making it one of the densest places in the world. Neapoli is located northwest of the city center of Thessaloniki. Its neighboring suburbs are those of Polichni, Stavroupoli, Sykies, Thessaloniki and Ampelokipoi. There are eight districts in Neapoli: Neapoli, Piropathon, Kato Anagennisi, Pano Anagennisi, Kountourioti, Troada, Riga Feraiou, Hydragogio.
