Olympic Village is an underground station on the Canada Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located at the intersection of Cambie Street and West 2nd Avenue, adjacent to the Cambie Street Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The station is located in the Fairview neighbourhood and serves the South False Creek residential and commercial areas, which included the Olympic Village built for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The use of the term "Olympic" was licensed for use by the International Olympic Committee.

Voxel Bridge is an interactive public artwork under the Cambie Bridge in Vancouver, by artist Jessica Angel. The 8,000-square-foot (740 m2) mural is a vinyl overlay on the bridge that reveals interactive elements through augmented reality (AR), with aspects of the artwork being sold as non-fungible tokens. The installation will be part of the Vancouver Biennale from summer 2021 to 2023.

The Cambie Bridge is a six-lane symmetric, precast, varying-depth-post tension-box girder bridge spanning False Creek in Vancouver, British Columbia. The current bridge opened in 1985, but is the third bridge at the same location. Often referred to as the Cambie Street Bridge, it connects Cambie Street on the south shore of False Creek to both Nelson and Smithe Streets in the downtown peninsula. It is the easternmost of False Creek's fixed crossings; the Burrard and Granville bridges are a little more than a kilometre to the west, and the new Canada Line SkyTrain tunnel is built just west of the Cambie Bridge.

Elsie Roy Elementary is a public elementary school in Vancouver, and part of School District 39 Vancouver. It is located along the waterfront of Yaletown and is the first new elementary school to be opened in an inner-city Vancouver neighbourhood since 1975.It is a member of the "Downtown Family of Schools" with King George Secondary School, Lord Roberts Elementary School, Lord Roberts Annex. Elsie Roy is also part of the Middle Years Baccalaureate with King George Secondary and Lord Roberts Elementary. Over the past few years, Elsie Roy has invested in various educational technology for its staff, teachers and students. In 2010, with the launch of the Elsie Roy iPad Project, the school has built an environment including corner-to-corner Wi-Fi, smartboards in every classroom and library, netbooks, iPods, iPads, Microsoft Surfaces and cloud based education software including Moodle and other sites. The iPad Project has resulted in the creation of the Elsie Roy Tech Program where students learn the environment and provide in class support to their teachers and staff. As of 2008 the school has been criticized for being overcrowded.

False Creek (French: Faux ruisseau) is a short narrow inlet in the heart of Vancouver, separating the Downtown and West End neighbourhoods from the rest of the city. It is one of the four main bodies of water bordering Vancouver, along with English Bay (of which it is an inland extension), Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River. Granville Island is located within the inlet. George Henry Richards named False Creek during his hydrographic survey of 1856-63. While traveling along the south side of the Burrard Inlet, Richards thought he was traversing a creek; upon discovering his error, he gave the inlet its current name.The inlet opens into the English Bay to its northwest, and is surrounded by the Downtown and West End neighbourhoods in the north, Strathcona in the east, and Mount Pleasant, Fairview and Kitsilano in the south. Science World is located at its easternmost end, along with the BC Place Stadium and the Georgia Viaduct. Proceeding east to west, it is crossed by the Cambie, Granville, and Burrard street bridges. The Canada Line rapid transit tunnel crosses underneath False Creek just west of the Cambie Bridge. In 1986, it was the location of the Expo 86 World's Fair. False Creek South is a neighbourhood that runs along the inlet starting under the Granville bridge and runs until under the Cambie bridge to the east. Southeast False Creek (Olympic Village) starts from Cambie Street to Main Street.

Yaletown is an area of Downtown Vancouver approximately bordered by False Creek and by Robson and Homer Streets. Formerly a heavy industrial area dominated by warehouses and rail yards, since Expo 86 (the 1986 World's Fair) it has been transformed into one of the most densely populated neighbourhoods in the city.

The BC Cancer Research Centre (also known as the BCCRC, BC Cancer Agency Research Centre, or BCCA Cancer Research Centre) is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Scientists and researchers perform basic, epidemiological, and clinical research on cancer prevention, early diagnosis of cancer, the molecular and genetic characteristics of the cancer process, and basic research related to new treatments for cancer. With direct links to the cancer centres across the province, discoveries at the Research Centre are quickly translated into clinical applications. In 2005 the Canada Green Building Council certified the building had met LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standards for its sustainable design, making it the first health-care facility in Canada to attain that distinction.
