Gibraltar (also Gibralter) is an unincorporated community in Skagit County, Washington, United States. It lies on the west shore of Similk Bay.

Strawberry Island is a small island in Island County, Washington, United States. It is located just east of Deception Pass, which separates Fidalgo Island (N) from Whidbey Island (S). Charles Wilkes, during the Wilkes Expedition of 1838–1842, found wild strawberries on the island and gave it the name Hautboy, after the variety of strawberry. In time, the more common name Strawberry became official.Another Strawberry Island is located several miles north, near Cypress Island.

Skagit Island is a 21-acre islet located in the north Puget Sound of Washington state. Found south of Fidalgo island in the Skagit bay, the islet is home to Skagit Island Marine State Park with a basic trail system surrounding it.

Skagit Island Marine State Park is a public recreation area comprising 25-acre (10 ha) Skagit Island in Skagit County, Washington. It is located one mile (1.6 km) east of Hoypus Point and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Cornet Bay in Deception Pass State Park and is accessible only by boat. The island is wooded with occasional meadows, rock outcrops, beach, and a land trail.

Mount Erie is a mountain on Fidalgo Island in Skagit County, Washington, United States. It is on public park land owned and managed by the city of Anacortes and is located in the south of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. Mount Erie was named in 1841 by the Wilkes Expedition for the Battle of Lake Erie. The mountain itself was first explored in the 1960s by local climbers, including Dallas Kloke. It is known for its climbing as well as the view from the summit. The summit is accessible via a single-lane, paved road from the base. At 1,273 feet (388 m) tall, Mount Erie is the highest point on Fidalgo Island. On a clear day, Mount Baker, about 43 miles (69 km) to the northeast, and Mount Rainier, about 117 miles (188 km) to the southeast, can be seen from the summit.

Whistle Lake is a small lake located within city limits in Anacortes Community Forest Lands southeast of central Anacortes, Washington. Though not directly accessible by vehicle, Whistle Lake attracts thousands of visitors each year. The lake may be reached by driving to the trailhead off Whistle Lake Road and hiking or bicycling 1.3 miles along a dirt track. The scenery surrounding the lake is pleasant and a variety of trails provide opportunities for hikers. The lake itself is used for swimming and fishing; only inflatable rafts and non-motorized boats can be used. Cliffs varying in height from 10 feet to nearly 70 feet attract cliff divers.

Deception Pass (Lushootseed: sčudᶻ; Samish: Xwchsónges) is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island, in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Washington. It connects Skagit Bay, part of Puget Sound, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca. A pair of bridges known collectively as Deception Pass Bridge cross Deception Pass. The bridges were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Deception Pass State Park is a nearly 4,000-acre (1,600 ha) state park in Washington state. It is located on nine islands—principally Whidbey and Fidalgo islands—on either side of Deception Pass, the waterway connecting the Strait of Juan de Fuca with Skagit Bay. It includes numerous bays, inlets and other waterways that provide home for a variety of marine life and coastal Pacific Northwest flora, and the park's undersea natural resources are protected as part of the National System of Marine Protected Areas. The park's two sections, like its two main islands, are connected by the two spans of the Deception Pass Bridge, completed in 1934. The park's original land was a military reserve prior to its sale to the state in 1922. The park was first developed in the 1930s by crews of the Civilian Conservation Corps, who constructed a number of buildings, installations and landscape features in the National Park Service rustic style. Many of these facilities are recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Since its establishment, with its proximity to the Seattle area and its suburbs, the park has consistently ranked as the most-visited park in the Washington State Parks system, drawing 3.4 million visitors in 2023. With more than 3 million visitors annually, it rivals some of the most popular U.S. national parks in visitors.

Kiket Island is a small islet in Washington, co-managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Located at Snee Oosh, less than four miles (6.4 km) northwest of the town of LaConner in Skagit County, Washington, Kiket is connected to Fidalgo Island by a tombolo, over which runs an access road. Hope Island lies to the south of Kiket; Skagit Island only a few hundred feet to the southwest. These islands can be said to divide Skagit Bay from Similk Bay. The shoreline of Kiket Island and vicinity has been called one of the best-studied areas of coastal Washington. Ecological studies were made in the last decades of the twentieth century, when the site was considered for a nuclear power plant. In 1969, Seattle City Light and Snohomish County PUD considered building a $250 million 1,100 MW nuclear power plant on the island. By 1972, the plan for the nuclear plant was dropped due to environmental concerns. Seattle City Light and Snohomish County PUD sold the property in 1980. On June 23, 2010, a joint ownership agreement was signed by the state Parks and Recreation Commission and the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Both Kiket and tiny Flagstaff Island (connected to Kiket by another tombolo) are included in the agreement, and are part of Deception Pass State Park. The partners and The Trust for Public Land gathered grants and donations from a range of sources to purchase the $14 million property. As part of the acquisition process, wildlife surveys were conducted in the winter of 2008–2009.The park is open to the public with restrooms at the parking lot accessed via Snee-Oosh Road and on the west end of the island.
