Boleigh Fogou

Boleigh (Cornish: Boslegh) is a hamlet southeast of St Buryan in west Cornwall, England, UK. The Newlyn School artist, Samuel Birch, later known as Lamorna Birch came to Cornwall in 1892, initially staying at Boleigh Farm.

The Merry Maidens (grid reference SW432245), also known as Dawn's Men (a likely corruption of the Cornish Dons Men "Stone Dance") is a late neolithic stone circle located 2 miles (3 km) to the south of the village of St Buryan, in Cornwall. A pair of standing stones, The Pipers is associated both geographically and in legend.

The Tregiffian Burial Chamber (Cornish: Hirvedh Treguhyon) is a Neolithic or early Bronze Age chambered tomb. It is near Lamorna in west Cornwall, United Kingdom (grid reference SW430244). It is a rare form of a passage grave, known as an Entrance grave. It has an entrance passage, lined with stone slabs, which leads into a central chamber. This type of tomb is also found in the neighbouring Isles of Scilly.

Tregurnow is a settlement in St Buryan civil parish on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. At Tregurnow farm is an interesting Celtic cross from the medieval period similar to ones found on the Isle of Man. Tregurnow also gives its name to the site of a stone circle that previously stood in the area at grid reference SW 43818 24523 and the cliffs above Lamorna Cove also bear the same name.

Castallack Round or Roundago is a prehistoric site near Castallack in Cornwall, England. It is a scheduled monument.A "round" is a small circular embanked enclosure, with one entrance; they are common in Cornwall, and they date from the late Iron Age to the early post-Roman period.

Kerris (Cornish: Kerys) is a settlement in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is three miles (5 km) south-west of Penzance in the civil parish of Paul. Kerris means "fort-place" in the Cornish language.

Tater Du Lighthouse is Cornwall's most recently built lighthouse. The construction of the lighthouse came out of the tragedy of losing a small Spanish coaster called the Juan Ferrer on 23 October 1963, on the nearby Boscawen Point, the vessel capsized with the loss of 11 lives. After the tragedy the Newlyn and Mousehole Fishermen's Association put pressure on Trinity House for a lighthouse to be built, stating that similar tragedies could happen again. The lighthouse, built with concrete blocks, was first lit in July 1965.

Castallack is a hamlet in the civil parish of St Buryan, Lamorna and Paul in west Cornwall, England, UK. It is on a minor road between Sheffied and Lamorna.Castallack lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. Castallack Roundago (grid reference SW44822540) is a good example of a Romano-British round despite it having been partly destroyed in the 19th century.Granite from the Castallack quarries was used mainly for gravestones, activity finished in the mid-1980s.

Lamorna (Cornish: Nansmornow) is a village, valley and cove in west Cornwall, England, UK. It is on the Penwith peninsula approximately 4 miles (6 km) south of Penzance. Lamorna became popular with the artists of the Newlyn School, including Alfred Munnings, Laura Knight and Harold Knight, and is also known for former residents Derek and Jean Tangye who farmed land and wrote "The Minack Chronicles".

Boskenna is an early medieval settlement and large 17th-century manor house (formerly with associated farms and cottages) in the civil parish of St Buryan, west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Nearby, to the south, is the valley and cove of St Loy and the site of St Loy's chapel which was on the Boskenna side of a stream.

Catchall is a hamlet in west Cornwall, England, UK. Catchall is 1 mile (1.6 km) south-east of Sancreed at around 310 feet (94 m) above sea level at the junction of the B3283 with the A30 main road.There are a number of prehistoric standing stones nearby that have been scheduled as ancient monuments by English Heritage; the Blind Fiddler, the Long Stones and Tresvennack Pillar are all within 1 mile (1.6 km) of Catchall. The Blind Fiddler is a single freestanding monolith measuring 3.3 by 1.9 by 0.4 metres (10.8 by 6.2 by 1.3 ft). The Long Stones (also known as the "Sisters" or "Triganeeris Stones") are two upright monoliths standing approximately 5.5 metres (18 ft) apart. Both stones are over 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) high. Excavations revealed that between the two stones is a rectangular pit. The Tresvennack Pillar is a single upright monolith with a large vertical crack and standing almost 4m high.The freehold tenement of Catchall, then being part of Hendra was sold by public auction on 23 June 1883. At the time of selling it was occupied by Mr William Jacka, on a yearly tenancy and included 3–4 acres (1.2–1.6 ha) for cultivation, a farmhouse, barn, stable two pig-houses, cart shed, etc. The tenement was purchased by Thomas Bedford Bolitho, a local banker and industrialist, who owned nearby Kerris.
